The one check I’ve never passed
After 5 playthroughs, I’ve converted to Measurehead’s ideology. I’ve deadlifted with 1 Phys. I’ve danced like a superstar cop after getting shot in the leg. I’ve convinced the netpicker to go on a date with me after telling her I drunk drove my car into the ocean and telling her to get drunk with me. I’ve rolled double sixes on a 3% chance to convince a shipping container to open.
I’ve passed every check, explored every nook and cranny in Martinaise. Except one. My white whale. The one check which I have never completed in the timeframe it’s available.
I have never convinced that punk Gaston to give me a bite of his goddamned sandwich.

The only characters that change their portraits are Harry and Korty
Obviously, in Harry's case it's the player's choice. You can go the entire game without looking in the mirror, shaving, stopping the expression, becoming a fascist, but in most cases you'll probably change his portrait.
Now, obviously it's a bit like comparing apples to oranges. In Korty's case his first profile is a disguise. His transformation is a bit like what the deserter says about the mask of capitalism. And Korty removes his disguise right before attempting to kill the Hardie boys.
What I haven't seen discussed in the community is that Korty has a lot of other parallels to Harry. For one, he shows up drunk to the gunfight and he's sorta the face of Capitalism, while (in my own headcannon) Harry is the face of Communism. A sort of clash of ideals. He's also been investigating the murder in parallel as you have. He's a tool of Wild Pines, Harry's a tool of the RCM.
I think there's also some symbolism in how you attack Korty. You either use an alcohol molotov or you shoot him in his mouth. It's somewhat related to Harry's alcoholism - it's like a subconscious desire to remove what Harry hates about himself - his desire to drink.
Now obviously, I'm stretching my logic and conceptualization skills and maybe I've rolled a few snake eyes in the process. I just wanted to get the ball rolling on the discussion.
