Bitcoin adoption by businesses is accelerating 📈

Latest report by River showed public companies now hold 683K BTC, up 587% since 2020.

Five companies are among the largest holders – MicroStrategy, Block. One, Tether, BitMEX and Xapo with a total of 559K BTC, accounting for 82% of all business holdings.

Opinion: Four-year cycle is dead

Outlier Ventures Head of Research Jasper De Maere said that investors should move away from the notion of a four-year cycle.

“The halving no longer has a fundamental impact on the price of BTC and other digital assets, with the last time it had dating back to 2016,” he said, adding: “It’s time for founders and investors to move away from the notion of a four year cycle as digital asset markets mature.”

It depends on your risk appetite and capital. If it's under 10k for crypto, I would only consider low caps. In general, low caps appear to be a better bets since crypto people love new shiny stuff. However, there are myriad of things to consider for your personal preference. From my experience the biggest gains are from holding for a long time for 20-100x but in order to do so you need to feel comfy and have high conviction in something and that's always a personal thing, in my opinion.

I'm looking for fundamental value in a crypto project because I like to invest for longer horizon and flip here and there between 3-5 projects I like.

NFTs are in a serious slump - 96% of NFTs are considered "dead," with 2023 marking the year with the most losses.

43% of NFT holders are facing an average loss of 44.5%, and NFTs' lifespan is just 1.14 years - 2.5x shorter than traditional crypto projects.

Active addresses on the BTC network hit new lows in 2024

The total number of active addresses on the Bitcoin network hit new lows in 2024, reaching the same level as 3 years ago, when the price of BTC was quoted at around $45,000.

A decline in active addresses indicates less overall activity on the Bitcoin network, i.e. fewer transactions are taking place, which may reflect less interest in using the network at this point in the market.
