📊 Stablecoin usage surged in H1 2024, settling about $2.6 trillion dollars worth of value

The latest survey conducted by Visa and Castle Island Ventures shows that stablecoin usage in the first half of 2024 has surged, projecting up to $5.28 trillion settlement volume by end of year. The survey highlighted that stablecoins are increasingly used for real-world purposes such as cross-border payments, remittances, payrolls and trade settlement.

For non-crypto stablecoin activities, 69% use stablecoins for currency substitution, 39% pay for goods and services and another 39% use stablecoins for cross-border payments.

Fewer women own crypto than men, but they HODL just as well

A Gemini survey of crypto ownership across five countries found that women are just as likely to be long-term investors as men.

“The percentage of investors that acquired their first crypto over a year ago versus within the past 12 months is roughly the same between men and women, and actually higher for women in the U.K.,” the report said. “This statistic leads us to believe that women are just as likely as their male counterparts to buy and hold for the long term.”
