🏦 Almost half of traditional hedge funds are dabbling in crypto

Among hedge funds trading in traditional markets, 47% had exposure to digital assets, up from 29% in 2023 and 37% in 2022, according to the Global Crypto Hedge Fund Report.

Among those funds that are already invested, 67% plan to maintain the same level of capital in crypto while the rest plan to invest more by the end of 2024, the survey found.

The US government has charged crypto market makers with market manipulation and fraud.

To catch them, the FBI created a crypto token called NextFundAi to "identify, disrupt, and bring these alleged fraudsters to justice."

US federal authorities charged 14 individuals and four cryptocurrency companies with criminal offenses related to market manipulation and "wash trading". Over $25M in crypto has been seized.

The DOJ announced charges against Gotbit, ZM Quant, CLS Global, and MyTrade, which are accused of conducting wash trades to artificially inflate token prices and attract new investors.

Clips from HBO's Satoshi Nakamoto documentary fingered former Bitcoin developer Peter Todd as the cryptocurrency's creator – but Todd denied it.

The reasoning for claiming Todd is Nakamoto rests on a chat log message Todd wrote claiming to be “the world’s leading expert on how to sacrifice your Bitcoins,” adding that he had “done one such sacrifice and I did it by hand.”

"Of course, I'm not Satoshi," Todd said. "It's ironic that a director who is also known for a documentary on QAnon has resorted to QAnon style coincidence-based conspiracy thinking here too."

Arthur Hayes has published a new "PvP" essay, revealing insights into crypto exchange listings:

1️⃣ Most CEX exchanges charge between $250,000 and $500,000 in stablecoins, with some exchanges requiring up to 16% of the total token supply.

2️⃣ Binance has developed an ingenious strategy - the exchange charges up to 8% of the total token supply, and requires projects to buy $5 million worth of BNB and place those coins as a deposit.

3️⃣ Marketing: Binance requires projects to distribute 8% of the token offering to exchange users through eirdrops and other activities. Other CEX exchanges ask to spend up to 3% of token issuance (minimum equivalent of $250,000) on marketing campaigns.

4️⃣ Listing on major exchanges in 2024 does not guarantee a token price increase - regardless of the exchange, tokens are not pummeled right now. Crypto launched this year have performed poorly for retail investors.

5️⃣ Projects launch at too high valuations - to become attractive, they need to lower their valuations at launch by 40-50%.

💪 Bitcoin remains the best-performing asset class in 2024

Bitcoin remains the best-performing asset so far this year, even after a “seasonally weak” third quarter, according to the New York Digital Investment Group (NYDIG). It has seen a year-to-date gain of 49.2%.

NYDIG noted that the US election on Nov. 5 will play a big part in market performance for Q4, and expects more considerable gains if Trump wins.

Markets are normally analysed with 4 year market cycle by analysts. But after the 4th 4 year cycle viz. 16 years there will be a wider and long bear market and then only next cycle will start as a fresh one. So super cycle is referred as 16 year market cycle.

Yeah. Fully following the previous market cycles. However this is a peculiar cycle since end of 16 years super cycle and hence stock markets are having an extension. We will have a good mega altseason if BTC goes above 80K and Bull maket extends beyond Dec 2024. Else will have only mini altseason.

Everyone can get scammed , he lost credibility and imo was worth more, I banned him from a very high level chat for the sake of a few dollars he could have made a real big project with some connections he had, all burned now
