🔨 Hole in The Fence
In a quiet village nestled among rolling hills, there lived a young boy named David. David had a quick temper and a sharp tongue. He often lashed out at others with hurtful words, causing pain and sadness in his wake. His parents worried about his behavior and tried many times to teach him kindness and patience, but their efforts seemed to fall on deaf ears.
One day, David’s father decided to teach him a valuable lesson. He took his son to the backyard, where there stood a wooden fence. The fence was old and weathered, with many cracks and knots in the wood.
“David,” his father said, “I want you to hammer a nail into this fence every time you lose your temper or say something unkind.”
David nodded, and the task began. Over the next few days, David’s temper got the best of him, and he hammered nails into the fence with each outburst. The fence soon had dozens of nails hammered into it.
As the weeks passed, David’s father noticed a change in his son’s behavior. David was growing tired of hammering nails into the fence, and he started to think twice before he spoke unkind words. He remembered his father’s words about the impact of his actions.
Gradually, the number of nails hammered into the fence decreased. David was learning to control his temper and choose his words more carefully. The day finally arrived when David managed to keep his temper in check and didn’t need to hammer any nails into the fence.
His father smiled proudly and said, “Now, David, for each day you can control your temper and speak kindly, I want you to remove one nail from the fence.”
David eagerly began to remove the nails, one by one. Some came out easily, while others were stubborn and left behind small holes in the wood.
When all the nails had been removed, David looked at the fence, which was now covered in holes and scars from the removed nails. His father asked, “What do you see, David?”
David gazed at the fence and replied, “I see a fence filled with holes, Father.”
His father nodded and continued, “Each nail you hammered into the fence represented unkind words and lost tempers. Now, while you can remove the nails, the holes they left behind will always remain. Just like the fence, people can carry the scars of hurtful words and actions with them for a long time.”
David realized the powerful lesson his father had taught him. He understood that words, once spoken, could leave lasting wounds. From that day forward, he made a promise to himself to use his words for kindness and to control his temper.
Moral of the Story
“A Hole in the Fence” teaches us that unkind words and angry outbursts can leave lasting scars, just like the holes in the fence. It emphasizes the importance of controlling one’s temper and using words with care and kindness, as words have the power to hurt or heal.

🪿 The Ugly Duckling
Once upon a time, on a serene farm nestled beside a peaceful lake, there lived a mother duck. She had been blessed with several adorable ducklings, but one of them was different from the rest. This little duckling was gray and clumsy, and the other ducklings often made fun of him.
One sunny morning, the mother duck decided it was time to take her ducklings for a swim in the lake. As they waddled towards the water, the little gray duckling hesitated, feeling out of place.
“Come on, everyone,” quacked the mother duck. “It’s time to swim and enjoy the water.”
Reluctantly, the little gray duckling joined the others. They splashed and played in the lake, but the other ducklings continued to tease and mock him.
“Why are you so different?” they quacked, laughing.
The little gray duckling felt sad and didn’t understand why he wasn’t like the others. He longed to fit in, but it seemed impossible.
As the days turned into weeks, the little gray duckling’s sadness grew. He spent most of his time alone, away from the others. He would often gaze at his reflection in the water, wondering why he was so different.
One day, while he was sitting by the lake, a beautiful swan glided by. The little gray duckling marveled at the swan’s graceful presence and stunning white feathers.
“Hello there,” said the swan, noticing the duckling’s longing gaze. “Why do you look so sad?”
“I’m just an ugly duckling,” replied the gray duckling with a sigh. “I don’t belong here. I wish I could be as beautiful as you.”
The swan chuckled softly. “You are not an ugly duckling,” he said kindly. “You are a young swan, just like me.”
The little gray duckling was astonished. He had spent his entire life believing he was different and ugly, but now he realized he was a swan—a magnificent and elegant bird.
Overjoyed and full of newfound confidence, the young swan joined the graceful swan in the water. Together, they swam and danced on the shimmering lake.
As time passed, the young swan grew into a splendid adult swan, admired by all who saw him. He had found his true identity and no longer felt out of place.
Moral of the Story
The story of the Ugly Duckling teaches us that appearances can be deceiving, and true beauty comes from within.
It’s essential to embrace our uniqueness and not let the judgments of others define us. Just like the Ugly Duckling, we may discover our true worth and potential when we accept ourselves for who we truly are.

The Lion Who Became a Sheep Story
Once in the heart of a dense forest, there lived a lioness, fierce and proud. During a desperate hunt, she leaped across a ravine, unaware she was pregnant. In her leap, she gave birth, and her cub fell into a flock of sheep below. The lioness, unable to retrieve her offspring, returned to the forest, her heart heavy with sorrow.
The little lion cub, stunned and confused, was soon surrounded by the curious sheep. Raised in this unlikely family, the cub grew up believing he was a sheep. He bleated instead of roaring and grazed instead of hunting. He knew no life other than that of a sheep.
But one day, a magnificent lion from the deep forest ventured near the flock. The sheep scattered in terror, but this lion of sheep’s clothing stood there, puzzled. The forest lion approached him and said in a deep, commanding voice, “Why do you, a creature of strength and power, live among these timid sheep?”
The sheep-lion, trembling, replied in a meek bleat, “Please, sir, I am but a weak sheep. Please don’t hurt me!.”
The forest lion, bewildered, led him to a still pond. “Look!” he commanded. There, in the reflection, the sheep-lion saw not a sheep, but a lion, just like the one standing beside him. Yet, he still couldn’t believe it.
The forest lion led him to a nearby hilltop where he urged, “Roar, you are a lion like me, not a sheep!”
But the sheep-lion only bleated. Frustrated yet determined, the forest lion kept him at the hill, teaching him to embrace his true nature.
Days passed, and under the guidance of his mentor, the sheep-lion’s bleats gradually turned into awkward roars.
One morning, as the sun rose over the forest, the sheep-lion found his voice – a deep, resounding roar that echoed across the valley. He finally accepted who he truly was – not a sheep, but a mighty lion.
