​"Red is the color of danger, meaning we risk losing even the scarcity that we have."

That's how Peter Scott explained the choice of name for the Red List in 1963.

Friends, we've already covered the history of the Red List, ARL, in passing. Today we wanted to talk a bit more about it: we shouldn't forget about one of the main aims of the TON NFT ARL project is to help endangered animals.

People began to care seriously about the problem of the extinction of some species of flora and fauna as early as at the beginning of the last century. They even signed the International Convention for the Protection of Birds in 1902. There have probably been some steps taken towards the protection of birds. Yet, we wonder, were they at least slightly successful?

In the middle of the century, the International Union for Conservation of Nature - IUCN (this is exactly the organization to which we transfer a part of the income from our NFT-collection) established the "supervising body" - the Species Survival Commission.

And in 1966, the first edition of the Red List was published, which contained a total of 312 species of birds and 211 species of mammals. And not a single worm! Since then, the Red List has been reprinted numerous times, with corrections and additions, and issued in regional editions. Only the red color of the cover, and the many species of animals, (over 13,000 to date) that need our attention and help remain unchanged.

Yesterday, our team made another donation to IUCN in the amount of 674 TON = $1,240.
Is this much? Is it enough to preserve the fauna of the Earth? Certainly not.

But that's the mission of the TON NFT ARL project - to attract as many supporters and followers as possible around the world who will be concerned, not only, and not so much, about profits from NFT ownership/management.
Rather, it's about likeminded people taking an active part in saving animals (whose digital images these people possess).

With everyone's proper participation, and a new approach, we will definitely achieve more than we think 🤞

​Nothing is more unique than nature.

NFT projects have to come up with explanations to the puzzle of “why do we have 500 cat pictures, with 50 of them having different ears, which makes them more expensive.”

The ARL project is much simpler: we just have to manually draw 13,333 illustrations of NFT animals which nature already invented 😇

What is interesting to ponder to figure out is:

All authentic living organisms are naturally unique as they are.
(Well, the red-listed ones are rare...literally).

It is very possible that the ARL NFT collection will dwell on its own value laws (we can discuss in the comments, there's a lot to ponder here).

Individual Tier 3s will be extremely expensive to value based on subjective tastes, overtaking (including cost) some Tier 1s.

There are 2-3 Tiers that are extremely attractive to some for their own reasons (traditional, cultural, historical, family, personal, etc.) that much is obvious.

Collectors will hunt "their" particular species extremely enthusiastically.
(And let them be hunted only here 🦌).

"Rarity, sparsity, uniqueness" is what is most often talked about in all NFT projects.
And little reason to being reminded of it in ARL NFT.

In addition, each NFT has the name of particular species. And these names are sometimes very interesting and unusual. Perhaps these will be especially revered by members of our community, as well as NFT connoisseurs.

The images themselves are, of course, a matter of taste. But the general, collective perception of beauty, as well as the presence of certain "regalia" of a particular animal, nobody cancelled. This, too, in our opinion, will be reflected in the price of NFT, both on the minte and on the secondary market.

Quite naturally, the Tier (level) directly affects the market value, and there is no point in discussing this topic.

Rarity gradation within a Tier (we'll tell you how it works very soon) will also affect the market.

Gold, silver and bronze "medals" correspond to tiers 1-2-3, as you guessed.
White = population recovered, black = species considered extinct.

Any migration and change of status will be chronologically reflected by new medal being added to the set, so you will be able to track this history under NFT illustration.
Old medals will not be removed.

How do we keep track of all the changes?
Our development team wrote a separate software for the project, which will automatically synchronize the collection and open databases of the IUCN Red List.

As you might realize, friends, the more changes to a particular species, the more exclusive and expensive the NFT. Exactly how demand will change by this criterion will, of course, be decided spontaneously by the NFT community.

​What’s the story on pre-sales?

Pre-sales are a nice thing, everyone likes them. But not everyone realizes their true purpose.

It's always a "win-win" when the audience has the opportunity to buy an NFT at minimal cost, and the proceeds from the pre-sale are invested back into the project.

Initially, pre-sales on the ETH blockchain, as an example, are allowed to bypass the huge transaction fees that inevitably increase the overall cost of tokens.

Over time, such pre-sales have firmly entered the culture of the NFT industry and have become an integral part of the development of almost every project.
A project credits its community for its activity and loyalty by providing a unique opportunity.

A well run presale also gives a startup a boost: the results are actively discussed in the community, popularizing them and attracting new participants.

Certainly, one of the main motivations of all NFT presales hunters, is to buy at the lowest possible cost. So, once you buy an NFT at the first pre-sale, you see an increase in the price of your assets at the next pre-sale, and so on.

The difference in value can be multiple, allowing the most active participants to "capitalize on their faith in the project" from the very beginning.

Already well known, expensive collections where everyone wants to buy, and not everyone can, discern small promising projects in their infancy.

Any purchase at pre-sale will always be profitable, because the mint (the whole, ready collection goes on public sale) is held at a price higher than the NFT price at pre-sales.
In other words, any purchase at any presale is inherently profitable.
