NFTs are still on the rise
We all know how NFTs have exploded in just over a year. They are everywhere in 2022, even taking over Super Bowl LVI.
Although NFT sales have dipped significantly from their landmark high at the start of 2022, if we zoom out on the bigger picture, it becomes clear that the reign of NFTs is far from over:
🔸Cumulative number of wallets that have ever owned an NFT. When NFTs first started to gain traction in 2020, only a few hundred thousand wallets had ever owned an NFTs. Now in 2022, we see that number is well over four million.
🔸Daily number of Ethereum NFT Transfers. We can see by the data that NFTs started to take off in March 2021. The market then hit a bit of a lull, before numbers rose again. And the trend still continues. With the number of daily Ethereum NFT transfers on its way into the millions in 2022.
🔸OpenSea’s monthly USD sales volume. Over the past year, the vast majority of Ethereum NFT trades have taken place via OpenSea — the world’s largest NFT marketplace. In August 2021, it was big news when OpenSea not only crossed the billion-dollar threshold but flew straight past three billion. Now, these figures are a monthly occurrence.

Coinbase NFT Live
Coinbase announced on Wednesday that its NFT marketplace is now in beta and accessible to a small set of testers (with over 3 million people queued up on the waitlist).
Based on what we have seen from the screenshots, Coinbase looks like a hybrid between OpenSea and Instagram - there are profiles where users can show off their collections (and which other people can follow), as well as a discover feed based on what you buy, what’s trending, who you follow, and more.
Key points:
🔸The marketplace will support all sorts of self-custody wallets. It has also partnered with Mastercard to allow anyone with a Mastercard credit or debit card to buy an NFT.
🔸Coinbase NFT will start off with zero transaction fees (besides Ethereum gas costs and creator-implemented royalties), but will eventually implement a “low, single-digit fee”.
🔸In the future, Coinbase NFT plans to add more features like NFT drops, minting, token-gated communities and support of other blockchains.
We also have to mention that Coinbase NFT is only open to U.S. residents. Well, at least for now. Customers that live outside the U.S. will have to wait a while longer before they can use the new product.
ApeCoin. Time to learn what all the hype is about.👇
ApeCoin ($APE) is the Ethereum-based token for the fast-growing Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) ecosystem, rallied to a one-month high of $16.72 on Wednesday (+68% over the last 30 days).
The most likely reason is the growing speculation over the recent announcement by Yuga Labs - the creators of the BAYC NFT collection - about its upcoming metaverse called Otherside.
Details around its “Otherside” metaverse remain sparse. But trailers released by Yuga Labs show involvement from a slew of popular NFT faces, including Cool Cats, Nounz and Toadz, whose floor prices have all risen this week.
What $APE is about?
ApeCoin is an ERC-20 utility and governance token of the APE ecosystem. It empowers the decentralized APE community building at the forefront of Web 3.0.
APE is governed by the ApeCoin DAO and supported by the APE Foundation. With APE, token holders can vote on governance proposals on the DAO and access exclusive features of the APE ecosystem, such as games, events, and services.
Yuga Labs, the creator of the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collections, has also adopted APE as the primary token for all new products and services.

P2E is a term referred to games and it means play-to earn. Mostly these are crypto games. This is because they use the blockchain technology of cryptocurrencies that allow people to receive payments from their gameplay.

Axie Infinity
You may have heard the latest news regarding Axie, whether it was about the hackers stealing $625 mil or the recent update (which is a new version of the game by the way, you can try out the card battler for free now). In case you somehow missed all the hype and still wondering what Axie Infinity is, well, here is a quick overview:
Axie Infinity is an NFT-based online video game developed by Vietnamese studio Sky Mavis.
Players of Axie Infinity collect and mint NFTs which represent axolotl-inspired digital pets known as Axies. These creatures can be bred and battled with each other within the game.
The game runs on the Ethereum blockchain with the help of Ronin, a sidechain that helps minimize fees and transaction delays.
Quick history:
Development of Axie Infinity commenced in 2017, led by its co-founder and CEO, Nguyen Trung. The idea behind the project was combining elements of CryptoKitties with gameplay from the Pokémon series.
In October 2018, the development team released Axie Infinity's first battle system. Development of the real-time card battle system and application commenced in March 2019, and an alpha was released in December 2019.
