🎸The song is famous for the mind-blowing, multi-octave vocal performance of frontman Miljenko "Mili" Matijevic. His ability to hit and sustain piercing high notes at the climax of the track made it a benchmark for 90s rock vocal range.
☄While it found a dedicated audience in Western glam metal circles, it became a historic #1 hit on international charts, famously staying at the top spot in countries like South Korea and parts of Asia for 17 consecutive weeks.
🤟Powered by the popularity of this ballad and their follow-up hit "I'll Never Let You Go," Steelheart's debut album sold an incredible 33,000 copies on its very first day of release in Japan alone.
🌟The track was featured on an album produced by the seminal Mark Opitz, who was famous for engineering heavy-hitting rock records like AC/DC’s Powerage.

🎸Released in 1967, “People Are Strange” became one of The Doors’ most haunting songs — a reflection of alienation, isolation, and the feeling of not belonging.
🔧The idea came after Jim Morrison spent time with guitarist Robby Krieger during a period of depression. While watching the sunset in a canyon, Morrison reportedly realized how loneliness can distort the world around you: when you feel strange, everyone else seems strange too. That moment inspired the lyrics that would define the song’s dark, psychedelic atmosphere.
✔️Krieger composed the music and recorded the unforgettable guitar solo in a single take. The song later became even more legendary after The Doors performed it alongside “Light My Fire” on The Ed Sullivan Show — an appearance that famously ended with Sullivan refusing to invite them back after Morrison ignored requests to change the lyric “Girl, we couldn’t get much higher.”
