Kazakhstan MotoGP Round Finally Canceled - Misano To Replace
Kazakhstan MotoGP Round Finally Canceled - Misano To Replace
The 2024 MotoGP calendar shuffle continues unabated. We had known for some time that the Kazakhstan round of MotoGP was to be canceled due to a range of issues at the Sokol International Racetrack. But Dorna had struggled to find a replacement circuit to host a race.
That struggle is at an end. Today, the FIM announced that Misano is to take the place of the Kazakhstan GP on the calendar. The Emilia-Romagna GP is to take place from 20th-22nd of September.
This means that there will be two rounds in three weeks at the Italian circuit. The Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini is due to take place on the weekend of September 6th-8th, with a MotoGP test due on the Monday after the race. Now, the paddock will remain in Italy, and return to the track after a weekend off.
