Raul Fernandez Stays On With Trackhouse Racing Aprilia For Two More Seasons
After teasing an announcement yesterday on Social Media, today, Trackhouse Racing announced that they have extended their contract with Raul Fernandez for another two seasons. The Spanish youngster will remain with the team through the 2025 and 2026 MotoGP seasons.
The official press release announcing the contract also confirms that Fernandez is to get the 2024 spec Aprilia RS-GP from the next MotoGP round at Silverstone. As the engine is virtually unchanged from 2023, the updates consist entirely of an aerodynamics package and chassis parts.

KTM identifies main cause of Miller's disastrous MotoGP season
KTM has identified what could be the key reason behind Jack Miller’s disastrous run of results in the 2024 MotoGP season. The Austrian manufacturer believes vibration issues, arising both from the new Michelin compounds and the latest-spec RC16, could explain why Miller only managed to break inside the top 10 once before the summer break. While KTM stablemates Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta bagged ...Keep reading

Trackhouse Racing To Announce Rider Signing On Tuesday - The Upsides And Downsides
As the short summer break nears an end, contract season in MotoGP is starting to ramp up again. With the British Grand Prix at Silverstone coming into view, rider announcements are imminent.
The first to announce will be Trackhouse Racing. In a post on social media, Trackhouse team owner Justin Marks announced that the team had "found their guy". We do not yet officially know who that 'guy' will be, but at least one of the names will be Raul Fernandez, current rider with the team, and the other is likely to be current Red Bull KTM Factory rider Jack Miller.
Who it won't be is current Trackhouse Racing rider Miguel Oliveira. According to the well-informed Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia, Oliveira will be riding a Yamaha next year for the Pramac Yamaha squad. Oliveira will have a contract with Yamaha directly, and use his experience to help develop the Yamaha M1.

Suzuka 8-Hours Interview: Paolo Ciabatti - "The Plan Is A Factory Bike And MotoGP Riders At Suzuka"
Japanese racing legend Yukio Kagayama, who has ridden for Suzuki for more than three decades, started collaborating with Ducati in the 2024 season. He set up and organized Ducati Team KAGAYAMA, and his rider Ryo Mizuno is taking part in the All Japan Road Race Championship with the championship-winning bike Panigale V4R.
Team Kagayama is also racing in the 45th edition of the Suzuka 8-Hours race with Mizuno, Hafizh Syahrin, and Josh Waters. And now, Paolo Ciabatti from Ducati Corse came to Suzuka on Friday to join the team. In the timed practice session, Mizuno set the second fastest time and helped their team proceed to Saturday’s Top 10 Trial superpole shootout. In the Top 10 Trial, Mizuno finished 0.118s behind YART-YAMAHA. Right after the Top10 Trial, we managed to grab an exclusive interview with Ciabatti in their team office.
Q: Ryo’s riding in the top 10 trial and your team’s performance so far this weekend is quite amazing. What do you think of your riders and Panigale V4R's performance?
Paolo Ciabatti: You know, we are very pleased with the results so far. We know that Panigale V4R with the superbike specification, like this one that we gave to Kagayama's team, is super competitive. We can see in any championship where we take part, World Superbike, American Superbike, British Superbike, also in the first rounds of Japanese Championship, the bike was showing good potential. Naturally, we needed to understand better how to use the Bridgestone tire because we never had Bridgestone on a superbike, but with the help of Bridgestone supplying us data, and the team, I think we came up with very good setup solution.
Now qualifying went very well, we missed the pole position by one tenth of a second, I think Yamaha is very strong, but Ryo Mizuno was incredibly fast, he put his best lap time in the top 10 qualifier.

Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 420: David Alonso Interview, And What Exactly Makes Riders Special?
With Neil and Adam interviewing Moto3 star David Alonso, it prompted the question, exactly what makes a special rider? We look at some riders who exceeded expectations, some who fell short, and some we could see were always going to be something exceptional. Was Dani Pedrosa disappointment or did he do better than he had any right to expect? Was Pecco Bagnaia better than expected judging by Moto2 and Moto3? Who do Adam, Neil, and David think were disappointments, and who did far better than they thought?

OPINION: Canceling Kazakhstan Shows Dorna's Calendar Gambles Need To End
OPINION: Canceling Kazakhstan Shows Dorna's Calendar Gambles Need To End
Entirely predictably, MotoGP is not going to Kazakhstan. Instead, the paddock will be staying in Misano - briefly moving out of the paddock to make way for the Italian Bike Festival IBF, which takes place in the weekend between the two Misano rounds, then moving everything back in again - before facing a mad dash to get to Lombok in time for the Indonesian Grand Prix at the Mandalika International Circuit.
That frantic dash encapsulates the state of the 2024 MotoGP calendar: teams will have to rush to get everything packed up into air freight containers, which will then be rushed to an airport to be loaded aboard the Qatar Airways Boeing 777s that will fly everything to Lombok. There should be just enough time to get there, but even a slight delay - for weather, mechanical issues, whatever - could end up leaving the teams with freight missing, and causing a delay to proceedings at Mandalika. Chaotic, disorganized, last-minute. It will probably work out fine. But the chances of something going wrong are uncomfortably high.
Why are Dorna risking the possible embarrassment of a Friday with no bikes on track? Because a policy they have pursued for many years, with relative success, has finally come back to bite them. Circuits have been signed up to the promise of a MotoGP round in the future, with financial guarantees to Dorna - either from insurance or from the circuit - if it proves impossible for the race to take place. As I understand it, in most cases the financial guarantees more than covered the losses that not holding the race incurred.
To lose one race may be regarded as a misfortune...

The paradox of MotoGP concessions: Everything changes so nothing changes
With the new regulatory framework that came into force following a unanimous vote by all MotoGP manufacturers, Yamaha and Honda were placed in the D class. This allows them, among other things, to ride with their regular rider line-up as many times as they want and to make engine modifications - something that is not allowed to the rest. But a simple glance at the championship standings might make ...Keep reading
