🌺
Letting go is like the immediate cessation of an internal pressure or the release of a great burden.
It is accompanied by a sudden feeling of relief and lightness and an expansion of happiness and freedom.
It is a real mechanism of the mind, and anyone has experienced it at least once.
The propensity to react with fear, for example, depends on how much fear is already present within us, which can be triggered by an external stimulus.
For a fearful person, the world is a terrifying place.
For an angry person, the world is a combination of difficulty and frustration.
For a guilt-ridden person, the world is a place of temptation and sin, which he perceives everywhere.
What is within us colors the world we perceive.
If we let go of guilt, we will see innocence.
However, a person tormented by guilt will see only evil.
The basic rule is that we focus on what we have repressed.
Letting go is to become aware of the emotion, bring it out, fully experience it and allow it to follow its course, without trying to change it or do anything about it.
Letting go means allowing the emotion to be processed, focusing on releasing the energy behind it.
The first step is to experience the emotion without resistance, fear, condemnation or judgment.
In fact, it is opposition to the emotion that keeps it alive.
When you stop resisting the emotion, it will transform into a new emotion with lighter energy.
An emotion without opposition is bound to fade away because the energy that constitutes it is naturally released.

Love is patient;
love is kind;
love is not envious; it does not boast, it is not puffed up, it is not rude.
Love does not seek its own interests; it is not easily angered; it does not take into account the wrongs done to it; it does not rejoice in injustice but rejoices in the truth.
Love covers all things.
Love believes all things.
Love hopes all things.
Love endures all things.

I read a story by Chuang-tzu, a Daoist master from the 4th century.
“There was a man who was afraid of his own shadow and horrified by his own footprints.
So he escaped them by running.
But the more times he lifted his foot, the more numerous were the footprints he left; and the faster he ran, the less the shadow left him.
Believing he was going too slowly, he ran faster without ever resting, until, at the end of his strength, he died.
He did not understand that to make the shadow disappear one must remain in darkness, that to make the footprints cease one must remain in stillness.

Compassione

Compassion
When we think about compassion it is important not to think of it as a future destination, but to understand that it is really about how we are present in this moment, what we cultivate and what kind of path we follow in our lives.
Someone once said that if you want to know something about your past, look at your mind now, and if you want to know something about your future, look at your mind now.
And we will really have the sense that this mind-heart now is the only mind-heart we can transform.
I don’t think compassion arises because we want to be compassionate, but that it’s really rooted in the awareness and ‘attention that we pay to our heart and mind.
It arises from our determination to investigate, to follow closely the rhythm of the heart and mind in the understanding that the quality of the heart and mind is the precursor to everything in life,
it is the precursor of our words, our actions, our choices.
The heart-mind anticipates how we behave with others and how we behave with ourselves.
And slowly we come to understand that, in our engagement in life, nothing is irrelevant or unimportant.
With every thought, word and action we influence the world around us just as we are influenced by the hearts and minds of others.
And eventually we come to understand that caring for others is caring for ourselves.

Proverai meraviglia, dolore, desiderio e vergogna.

We are all human beings, and that means we are all imperfect.
We all make mistakes and say things we don’t mean.
The truth is that perfection doesn’t exist.
It’s a fairy tale we tell ourselves to help us find our place in the world.
It is our imperfections that make us real, relatable human beings.
If you truly care about someone, those imperfections shouldn’t matter, because it is precisely in those flaws that we find authenticity.
When we accept each other for who we are, that is when a deep connection is formed.
Perfectly imperfect.
That is who we are.

Your mind is always on the lookout for evidence to support what you believe.
If you tell yourself that things always go wrong, your brain will focus on every problem and every little setback, using them as evidence to confirm that narrative.
It’s not that life is objectively worse.
It’s just that your brain is doing its job by trying to reinforce the story you’ve chosen to tell yourself, but
here’s the key: it works the other way round too.
If you start asking yourself how things can improve or what positive things are happening in your life, your brain will start looking for those answers.
It will look for small victories, moments of growth and opportunities for change.
Gradually shifting your perception towards hope and possibility.
So be mindful of the story you’re writing.
Be intentional about how you frame your experiences, because what it tells you today will be the world you see tomorrow.

stabilisci i tuoi limiti.
E intendo dire, stabiliscili davvero.
Inizi a rispettare te stesso.
A volte è allontanarsi.
Alcuni manipoleranno i tuoi limiti.
Altri li metteranno in discussione.
I miei sentimenti contano.
Devi solo capire perché li hai creati.
Quindi resta salda.
Mantieni i tuoi limiti.
Proteggi la persona che stai diventando.
E ricorda: dire “no” a qualcosa che ti distrugge significa dire “sì” a te stessa.

Eccetera...

Ci promettono scorciatoie, improbabili guadagni e finto successo.

If we see a sense of disenchantment arise in us accompanied by thoughts such as “Mozart was dead at my age and had already changed the course of music history while I don’t know what I want to do” or “there are too many people more talented than me, what’s the point of me doing my bit?” Et cetera...
Can you taste that?
And do you hear how the taste changes as soon as you correct it, as soon as you replace the bad apple with a nice green apple the way you like it?
‘ Yes, it’s true, Mozart had already realised everything at my age and I still haven’t understood what I want to do.
For him the path was clear, I have to dig more....
Everyone has their own story.
We all have something to achieve, and big or small it doesn’t matter.”
The mind is a market.
It is also a jungle, it is anything.
There is good content and content to discard.
We learn to bin, to send back to nothingness that which draws a trace of malaise in us.
Attention!
It is clear that we cannot bin what we do not want to experience.
But what is unhealthy to pursue must be trashed, and the sooner we do so the better...
The cat and the fox we meet on these sinister paths.
They are the conjurers of the shadow, attractive entities that later turn out to be deceptions.
They promise us shortcuts, improbable gains and fake success.
They are made of aversion, illusion, attachment.
They usually boycott our good intentions, leading us to cross healthy boundaries.
They distract us from true self-care and are forces that divert the path of growth.
Beware, therefore, of falling into the trap of considering them trustworthy.
And be careful also not to wage war against them.
The way is always that of peace, of acceptance.
When we see them, we recognise them and let them go without being influenced by them.
We do not listen to them. “Thank you,” we reply to the shadow magicians,
“but I am not interested”

Leave the luggage
If we want living happily it helps us to let go of the things that keep us from being in the present moment.
It is helpful for us to learn to let go of what makes us angry, to learn to start from scratch.
When we think of zero, it comes to mind as nothingness, and we perceive it as something negative.
Zero, however, can be very positive.
Having a debt to pay is indicated by the negative sign; when you have paid it back your balance sheet breaks even, goes back to zero.
It is wonderful:
you are free.
Please take a piece of paper and a pen.
Go to the foot of a tree, or sit at your desk, and make a list of all the things that can make you happy right now:
the clouds in the sky, the flowers in the garden, the children playing, the fact that you have met the mindfulness practice, the loved one sitting in the next room, having two eyes in good condition.
It’s an endless list.
You already have to be happy now.
You already have to be free from coming and going, up and down, birth and death.
Feed yourself every day with the wonderful things that life offers you.
Feed yourself in the present moment.
Walk in the Kingdom of God.

saggezza e premura.

Feeling guilty about something we have done may temporarily prevent us from doing evil, but eventually blaming and hating ourselves will only lead us to other deleterious actions.
We cannot become good people by punishment.
Only by embracing ourselves with the compassion of forgiveness can we experience our goodness and react to circumstances with
wisdom and thoughtfulness.

“Said the old soul healer:
not the back hurts, the load hurts.
Not the eyes hurt, injustice hurts.
Not the head hurts, thoughts hurt.
Not the throat hurts, what is not expressed or expressed in anger hurts.
Not the stomach hurts, what the soul does not digest hurts.

Dalla sofferenza può nascere la compassione.

From suffering can come compassion.
Compassion is the balm that refreshes and heals us and puts a smile on our face.
Through practice we are able to see more deeply into ourselves, into our true nature and into the true nature of mountains, rivers, the heavens, the Earth and all living things.
And we can see the beauty of all that is: the beauty in us, the beauty of an autumn leaf floating on the ground, the beauty of a snail crossing our path.
Beauty is found in birth and also in death.
If we know how to live, we will also know how to die.
To live in beauty is to die in beauty.
The deepest way of being alive and the deepest way of dying are the same:
Doing this in harmony with everyone and everything, in the true spirit of inter-being.
The moment we do this, the ideas of self and non-self, of life and death, vanish and we experience joy, equanimity and not fear.
Suffering is sometimes unavoidable and when we have to suffer, we can accept it with compassion.

The mother is an infinite source of love, an inexhaustible treasure.
Unfortunately, we sometimes forget this.
A mother is the most beautiful gift life can give us.
You who still have your mother by your side, please do not wait for her death to say to yourselves:
“My God, I have lived next to my mother all these years without even paying attention to her, just brief glances and a few words to ask her for money or something else”.
You snuggle close to your mother to keep warm, you sulk with her, you get angry with her.
You do everything to complicate her life, you make her worry, to the detriment of her health.
Because of you she goes to bed late and wakes up early.
Many mothers die young because of their children.
All our lives we expect her to prepare food, wash and clean everything we soil, while we only worry about our achievements and careers.
Our mothers no longer have the time to watch us carefully and we are too busy to take care of them.
Only when she is gone do we realise that we had a mother, but we never realised it.

Why are you so hard on yourself?
You say things to your heart that you’d never say to someone you love.
You criticise your reflection, dwell on your mistakes and set yourself standards that no one could possibly meet.
You carry the burden of guilt even for things you’ve already apologised for.
You downplay your achievements and convince yourself you’re falling behind, even when you’re giving it your all.
But what if you showed yourself the same understanding you offer others?
What if you forgave yourself – not because you’re perfect, but because you’re learning, because you’re trying?
You’re not behind if you’re going at your own pace, and that’s OK.
Remember that people will only go as far as you allow them to.
Era ovvio in quel momento che lei è sempre viva in me.

On the day my mother died, I wrote in my diary:
“A great misfortune has befallen my life.”
I grieved her loss for over a year.
But one night, in Vietnam, whilst I was sleeping in my hermitage, I dreamt of her.
I saw myself sitting with her, and we were having a lovely chat.
She was young and beautiful, her hair cascading down.
It was so lovely to sit there and talk to her…
When I woke up, it was about two o’clock in the morning…
I realised then that the idea of having lost her was, in fact, just an idea.
It was obvious at that moment that she is always alive within me.
I opened the door and went outside.
The whole hill was covered in tea plants, and my hut was situated behind the temple, halfway up.
As I walked slowly, I noticed that my mother was still with me.
It was the moonlight ‘caressing’ me, just as she had always done, very tenderly…
Every time my feet touched the ground, I knew my mum was there with me.
I knew that this body was not mine, but a living continuation of my mother, my father, my grandparents and all my ancestors.
Those feet that I saw as ‘my’ feet were actually ‘our’ feet.
Together, my mother and I were leaving footprints in the damp earth.
From that moment on, the idea of her loss no longer existed.
All I had to do was look at the palm of my hand, feel the breeze on my face or the earth beneath my feet to remember that she is always with me, there for me at any moment.

Growing up means realising that none of us are easy to get on with – not you, not them, not anyone else.
Everyone has their flaws.
Everyone has days when it’s hard to love them.
Days when they shut themselves off, days when they need more than they can give.
Days when they test the patience of those around them.
This isn’t a problem; it’s just being human.
The difference isn’t in finding someone without problems, but in finding someone who doesn’t run away when yours come to the surface.
Someone who chooses to understand alongside you, not against you; someone who stays even when you’re not easy to understand.
That’s what really matters: two imperfect people who refuse to give up on each other.
That’s what lasts.

I wanted to start a revolution today, but the courier messaged me to say the parcel will arrive between 9 am and 1 pm, so the revolution can wait.
I’m against the system, but I’ll update it first – otherwise my phone slows down.
I’m also against consumerism.
I’ve bought three books on the subject, with free delivery.
I want to be free: every morning I choose from 40 types of yoghurt.
I know exactly what I want.
I get indignant every day at the same time, between my coffee and the sofa.
I’d even take to the streets if it weren’t for the parking, the rain and the crowds.
I work to pay for the things I need to get to work.
And I call that life.
I’m not afraid of revolution.
I’m afraid it might be my turn.
So yes.
I want it.
But delivered to my door.
