Dear Students,
MDIS Tashkent Business Development & Tourism Innovation Center is glad to announce the Front Office Skills course that will provide you with a basic understanding of front office procedures in the hospitality industry.
You will be trained on front office management skills along with the Fidelio PMS system. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded with certificates.
Course schedule:
Three months, on Saturdays, from 15:00 to 16:30 pm
Fee: 250 000 UZS/month
Instructor: Shakhnozakhon Fakhriddinova, Tourism Industry Specialist and Lecturer at MDIS Tashkent.

Today is formally the last day of my tenure in MDIS Tashkent, for which I was honored and privileged to work for longer than 9 years.

On March 2, 2023, MDIS Tashkent hosted a presentation with PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the world's largest professional services networks and Big Four accounting firms.
Botir Makhmudov, the representative of PwC and also one of our prominent graduates, shared information on partnerships with financial organizations. Furthermore, business analysis of the strategic potential of banks was discussed in conjunction with an activity on estimating the size of the industry.
At the end of the session, career opportunities, the recruitment process, and requirements were announced. Three of the most active students were presented with gifts from PwC.
Truly sporty day: MDIS Tashkent won the WIUT Rector’s Cup having played with West in the final. Gratitudes and congratulations to both teams!

On February 23, 2023, MDIS Tashkent hosted a workshop on gender equality with Sitora Tulyaganova, the First Deputy Chairman of the Board and Legal Counsel at TBC Bank.
Students were provided with information regarding types of equality and statistics on the position of women in Uzbekistan and on a worldwide scale. It was mentioned that within the last three years, Uzbekistan had undergone significant changes towards women's rights and support.

On February 22, 2023, MDIS Tashkent hosted an introductory presentation with Boston Consulting Group - a global consulting firm that partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges.
During the event, the BCG team informed students about its core projects run in Uzbekistan, and the diversity of daily tasks. Additionally, students were provided with details of the summer internship program and other opportunities provided.
MDIS Tashkent expresses its gratitude to the Managing Director Nuriyev Rza and his team, Kasimkhodjaev Alrauf, Rasskazova Polina and Ikramova Nodira, for the visit and insightful presentation.

During the event, participants gained a lot of insights about brand new digital marketing trends, targeting, re-targeting, lead generation and audience development.

On March 3, 2023, Dr. Deniza Alieva, Docent of the School of Business and Management, took part in the Hotel Business Forum, organized by the Hoteliers Association of Uzbekistan, at the Hyatt Regency hotel. She made a presentation on the importance of developing practical, theoretical, and research skills for future professionals in the hospitality industry.

On March 2, 2023, MDIS Tashkent hosted a session with Dr. Iskandar Abdullaev, the founder of the NGO "Association of Uzbekistan for Sustainable Water Resources Development (Suvchi)" who has over 25 years of experience in water management, water institutions, and environmental activities in Afghanistan and five Central Asian countries.
Also, Dr. Abdullaev worked as the executive director of the Regional Environmental Center (CAREC) for Central Asia, a regional advisor for Germany’s Berlin Initiative on Transboundary Water Management in Central Asia (Programme) at GIZ and a senior researcher at ZEF Centre for Development Research University of Bonn (Germany) and conducted research in Central Asia and Afghanistan. In addition, Dr. Abdullaev worked as a regional researcher at the International Water Management Institute (headquarters in Sri Lanka). His research focus included Central Asia, Iran, Pakistan, Thailand, and Sri Lanka.
The esteemed guest talked about environmental economics and outlined the key problems that need immediate attention. Also, Dr. Abdullaev highlighted the importance of public awareness of ecological problems and the necessity of the personal contribution of every citizen to environmental protection.
MDIS Tashkent expresses its sincere gratitude to Dr. Abdullaev for his insightful presentation and wishes him the best of luck in his further research.
On February 28, 2023, MDIS Tashkent Business Incubation Centre organized the Startup Advice with Mr. Bekzod Sobirov, one of the creators and interviewers of the "Startup Unboxing" project, an I2BF Global Ventures (NY) crypto startup analyst, venture scout for the Activat.vc and PiePack.club, and organizer of hackathons in Uzbekistan and the CIS.
During the event, the speaker shared his experience with how to launch and promote startup projects. Participants also learned about the startup market in Uzbekistan and the perspectives on the development of the local and international startup ecosystem.

On February 24, 2022, the International Education Management Department of MDIST organized the presentation "A closer look at France" with representatives of the France Alliance in Uzbekistan: Dilshod Akhmedov, Director of the France Alliance in Tashkent, Natalien Courtillat, Alban Dig`iyon, Project Managers, and Ilkhom Sheraliyev, Assistant to the Director.
During the presentation, participants learned more about the France Alliance in Uzbekistan, French language courses run by the Alliance, the most effective ways to learn French, DELF-DALF, TCF-TP examinations, and preparatory courses for students. Furthermore, future collaborations with the France Alliance in Tashkent were agreed upon.
