- થોડાંક વર્ષ પહેલા ગુજરાતી સાહિત્ય સાથે મુખ્ય પરીક્ષા માટે તૈયારી કરનાર ગુજરાતીઓ માટે પ્રશ્નપત્ર મળવા પણ મુશ્કેલ હતા.
- ગુજરાતી સાહિત્ય સાથે તૈયારી કરનાર લોકો મર્યાદિત હોવાથી કોઈ પ્રકાશક આવો ખોટનો ધંધો કરવા તૈયાર ન થાય એ સ્વાભાવિક છે એટલે કોરોના કાળનો સદ્ઉપયોગ કરી એ સમય ઘરમાં લોકડાઉન દરમિયાન મિત્ર શ્રી મૃણાલ પટેલ સાથે એક પુસ્તક લખેલ જેમાં ટોપિક મુજબ પ્રશ્નોનું લિસ્ટ મળી રહે એ માટે અમે એ પુસ્તક લખેલ.
- જો કે સમય ન અભાવે અમે એ આવૃત્તિ અપડેટ ન કરી શક્યા.
- વ્યક્તિગત રીતે મેં અનુભવ્યું છે કે ગુજરાતી
સાહિત્યમાં પણ યોગ્ય મહેનતથી ખૂબ જ સારા માર્ક્સ આવી શકે એમ છે પરંતુ કેટલાક વર્ષોથી બધા કૃતિ ન વાંચી એક ના એક મટિરિયલ છાપી આવે છે અને મૌલિકતા જળવાતી નથી એટલે માર્ક્સ પણ ઘટ્યા છે.
- જોકે આનંદ થયો કે ઘણાંયે આ વખતે ગુજરાતી સાહિત્ય સાથે મુખ્ય પરીક્ષા આપી એમાં ઊંડાણપૂર્વક મહેનત કરી છે એટલે પરિણામ સુધરવાનું જ છે.
- જો કે હવે સાહિત્ય પ્રેમી તરીકે વિશેષ જવાબદારી બને કે આ માટે વિશેષ પ્રયત્ન થાય અને યોગ્ય પુસ્તક તૈયાર થાય. ઉપરોક્ત પુસ્તક ૨૦૨૩ સુધીના ટોપિક મુજબ ભૂલ રહીત તૈયાર કરવાની ભાવના છે. જો કે આ પુસ્તક છાપવું એ ખોટ ખાઈને જ કરવાનું છે પણ લોકહિત માટે આ કરવું તો છે જ.
- આ માટે આપનામાંથી કોઇની ભૂલરહિત તૈયાર કરવા સમયદાન કરવાની ભાવના હોય તો મને જાણ કરવા વિનંતી છે.🙏

आज उनका जन्मदिन है
"1608 में गैलीलियो द्वारा Telescope की खोज के बाद, खगोल विज्ञान की 10 सबसे बड़ी खोजों में से एक मैं इनके काम को गिनूँगा", विश्वप्रसिद्ध वैज्ञानिक 'आर्थर एडिंगटन' ने ये शब्द कहे थे एक भारतीय वैज्ञानिक के लिए।
अपनी मौलिक खोज के चलते उन्हें कई बार 'Nobel Prize' के लिए मनोनीत किया गया। लेकिन संसाधनों की कमी के चलते, वे अपनी खोज को किसी बड़ी वैज्ञानिक पत्रिका में प्रकाशित नहीं करा सके, और Nobel Prize कमिटी की उपेक्षा के शिकार हुए।
और वक्त आने पर, स्वतंत्र भारत में विज्ञान को सही स्थान दिलवाने के लिए उन्होंने चुनाव भी लड़ा। और जीतकर स्वतंत्र भारत की प्रथम लोकसभा में पहुँचें।
किसकी बात कर रहे हैं हम?
हम बात कर रहे हैं श्री मेघनाद साहा की। मेघनाद जी भारत के सर्वश्रेष्ठ वैज्ञानिकों में से एक हैं। लेकिन 21वीं सदी का भारत उन्हें भूल चुका है।
आज 6 अक्टूबर को मेघनाद जी का जन्मदिन है। चलिए, आपको उनसे मिलवाते हैं:
➖ नदी तैरकर स्कूल पहुँचते: साहा जी का जन्म एक अत्यंत गरीब परिवार हुआ। संसाधनों की कमी के चलते उनके सभी भाई-बहनों का स्कूल छुड़वा दिया गया, लेकिन मेघनाद जी की पढ़ाई में रुचि देख, उनके बड़े भाई ने उनकी सहायता की। लेकिन उनकी परेशानियाँ यहाँ ख़त्म नहीं हुईं थीं। वे प्रतिदिन 10 किलोमीटर चलकर स्कूल जाते, और बारिश के दिनों में स्कूल जाने के लिए तैरकर नदी भी पार करते। सारी कठिनाइयों के बावजूद उन्होंने सारी परीक्षाओं को टॉप किया।
➖ मवेशियों की देखभाल करके संसाधन जुटाए: जब उच्च शिक्षा की बात आई, तो बड़े भाई ने एक डॉक्टर के घर उनकी नौकरी लगवाई। घर की साफ़-सफ़ाई, मवेशियों की देखभाल करने के बदले मेघनाद जी को शहर में रहने की जगह मिली। और बाक़ी ख़र्चों के लिए उनके बड़े भाई, अपनी 20 रुपए की कुल आमदनी में से प्रति माह 5 रुपए भेजा करते। जिससे उनका छोटा भाई कभी भूखा ना सोए। इस पृष्ठभूमि से उठकर मेघनाद जी देश के सबसे बड़े वैज्ञानिक संस्थान में पहुँचे।
➖ छात्र जीवन में आइंस्टाइन के शोध का अंग्रेज़ी अनुवाद (1920): उन दिनों भारत में अंग्रेज़ी वैज्ञानिक पत्रिकाएँ आसानी से उपलब्ध नहीं होती थी। ऐसे में मेघनाद जी व सत्येंद्रनाथ बोस जी ने जर्मन भाषा सीखी। और कॉलेज में पढ़ते हुए, आइंस्टाइन के रिसर्च पेपर्स का अंग्रेज़ी अनुवाद किया। जो कि अपनेआप में पहला ऐसा अनुवाद था।
➖ वैज्ञानिक दृष्टिकोण का प्रचार (1935): मेघनाद जी को उनके शोध के लिए देश-विदेश से प्रशंसा मिल रही थी। लेकिन आम-आदमी अभी भी विज्ञान और उसके महत्व से पूरी तरह अछूता था। ऐसे माहौल में मेघनाद जी ने आम जनमानस की भाषा में कई लेख लिखे। और सरल भाषा में विज्ञान को घर-घर पहुँचाने के लिए कई संस्थानों की शुरुआत की।
➖ 'न्यूक्लियर फिजिक्स' को पाठ्यक्रम में लाए (1939): पहला परमाणु बम बनने में अभी कई वर्ष शेष थे। दुनिया की चुनिंदा प्रयोग-शालाओं के बाहर कोई 'न्यूक्लियर फिजिक्स' जैसे गूढ़ विषय को नहीं समझता था। ऐसे में वो मेघनाद जी ही थे जिन्होंने इस विषय को M.Sc का एक अनिवार्य हिस्सा बनवाया। व पाठ्यक्रम भी तैयार किया। उन्हीं की दूरदर्शिता के चलते, आगे चलकर इस क्षेत्र में दुनिया ने भारत का लोहा माना।
➖ बंगाल को बाढ़ से बचाया (1943): वर्ष 1923 में बंगाल में भीषण बाढ़ आई। मेघनाद जी ने उन दिनों राहत-कार्य में भाग लिया। लेकिन वो इतने से संतुष्ट नहीं थे। वे जानना चाहते थे कि ऐसा क्यों हुआ, और कैसे ऐसी आपदा को टाला जा सकता है। वर्षों बाद उन्होंने अमेरिका में बने एक बाढ़ प्रतिरोधक तंत्र की तर्ज़ पर "दामोदर वैली प्रोजेक्ट" का मास्टरप्लान तैयार किया, और बंगाल को बाढ़ से बचाने में अहम भूमिका निभाई।
➖ एशिया का पहला Cyclotron बनाने में अहम भूमिका (1950): मेघनाद जी चाहते थे कि देश में विश्वविद्याल वैज्ञानिक शोध का गढ़ बनें। जिससे देश को विश्वस्तरीय वैज्ञानिक मिलें और स्वतंत्र भारत में विज्ञान की प्रगति हो। इसी दृष्टि के साथ उन्होंने देश के पहले 'न्यूक्लियर फिजिक्स' इंस्टिट्यूट की स्थापना की, और एशिया का पहला Cyclotron (न्यूक्लियर फिजिक्स के शोध में काम आने वाला एक दुर्लभ उपकरण) भारत में तैयार किया, और दुनिया चकित कर दिया।
