ઇકો-સેન્સિટિવ ઝોન બાબતે કયું / કયાં વિધાન / વિધાનો સાચું સાચાં છે?
1. ઈકો-સેન્સિટિવ ઝોન એવા વિસ્તારો છે જે વન્યજીવન (સંરક્ષણ) અધિનિયમ, 1972 હેઠળ જાહેર કરવામાં આવ્યા છે.
2. ઇકો-સેન્સિટિવ ઝોનની ઘોષણાનો હેતુ એ ઝોનમાં કૃષિ સિવાયની તમામ પ્રકારની માનવ પ્રવૃત્તિઓ પર પ્રતિબંધ મૂકવાનો છે.

શું છે ઈકો સેન્સિટિવ ઝોન?
ભારતમાં જંગલો, વન્યજીવો અને દુર્લભ વનસ્પતિઓ અંગે જસ્ટિસ પંતની આગેવાની હેઠળના પંચે આપેલા અહેવાલના આધારે 1986માં કેન્દ્ર સરકારે પર્યાવરણ જાળવણી ધારો ઘડ્યો છે.
આ ધારા અંતર્ગત ચોક્કસ વિસ્તારોને ઈકો સેન્સિટિવ ઝોન જાહેર કરવાની કેન્દ્ર સરકારને સત્તા મળેલી છે
પર્યાવરણની દૃષ્ટિએ કોઈ જાળવણી પાત્ર સ્થળ કે લુપ્ત થતી પ્રજાતિ, વન સંપત્તિનું અસ્તિત્વ ટકાવવા તેમજ વધારવા માટે જે-તે સ્થળના 10 કિલોમીટર આસપાસના વિસ્તારને પર્યાવરણ માટે સંવેદનશીલ વિસ્તાર (Eco Sensitive Zone) જાહેર કરવામાં આવે છે.
આ માટેનાં સ્થળોની ઓળખ કરવાનું અને નોટિફિકેશન જાહેર કરવાનું કેન્દ્ર સરકારના વન મંત્રાલયના હાથમાં હોય છે.
રાષ્ટ્રીય ઉદ્યાનો, વાઈલ્ડલાઈફ પાર્ક વ.ની જાળવણી માટે આવા વિસ્તારોને ઈકો સેન્સિટિવ ઝોન જાહેર કરાય છે. ગુજરાતમાં ગીર અભયારણ્ય, ગિરનાર, જામનગર નજીક મરીન નેશનલ પાર્ક, થોળ સરોવર, નારાયણ સરોવર વાઈલ્ડલાઈફ સેન્ક્ચ્યુરી વ. સ્થળો ઈકો સેન્સિટિવ ઝોન તરીકે જાહેર થયેલાં છે.
ઈકો સેન્સિટિવ ઝોનનો સમય નિશ્ચિત નથી હોતો. અમુક વર્ષ પછી એમાં ફેરફાર પણ થતો રહે છે.
ઇકો-સેન્સિટિવ ઝોન્સ (ESZ) અથવા ઇકોલોજીકલી ફ્રેજીલ એરિયાઝ (EFAs) એ સંરક્ષિત વિસ્તારો, રાષ્ટ્રીય ઉદ્યાનો અને વન્યજીવ અભયારણ્યોની આસપાસ MoEFCC દ્વારા સૂચિત વિસ્તારો છે.
