Universal Android Debloater Next Generation
https://github.com/Universal-Debloater-Alliance/universal-android-debloater-next-generation
This is a detached fork of the UAD project, which aims to improve privacy and battery performance by removing unnecessary and obscure system apps. This can also contribute to improving security by reducing (but not eliminating) the attack surface. Read the wiki for more details on getting started. Whilst UAD-ng can remove system apps, it cannot detect or remove potentially malicious system services or drivers baked into the firmware of your device by various vendors; some vendor-specific apps are only UI front-ends to vendor-provided system services, and as such disabling/uninstalling those apps will not stop a service from running. Additional information can be found in package descriptions inside the Universal Android Debloater Next Generation application.

⚡️Stack Wallet - Open Source
Our community has been pining for a reliable wallet that respects people’s privacy. I’m happy to say StackWallet fits the bill.
I spoke personally with the founder and learned it’s a wallet that is doing things properly. It’s completely open-source, non-custodial, and privacy-preserving by default. You can choose StackWallet official nodes or pick your own, and it has a custom backup to restore all your wallets if needed.
The UI/UX is excellent, making it a friendly wallet that supports Monero, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and others—with proper support for Monero. It also has a built-in exchange for quick in-app trades, plus a private mode that turns off connections for coin prices (no third-party connections).
Check it out today: https://stackwallet.com

ChatterUI - A simple app for LLMs
https://github.com/Vali-98/ChatterUI
/channel/chatterui
ChatterUI is a native mobile frontend for LLMs.
Run LLMs on device or connect to various commercial or open source APIs. ChatterUI aims to provide a mobile-friendly interface with fine-grained control over chat structuring.
Features:
Run LLMs on-device in Local Mode
Connect to various APIs in Remote Mode
Chat with characters. (Supports the Character Card v2 specification.)
Create and manage multiple chats per character.
Customize Sampler fields and Instruct formatting
Integrates with your device’s text-to-speech (TTS) engine
Usage
Download and install latest APK from the releases page.
iOS is Currently unavailable due to lacking iOS hardware for development
Local Mode
ChatterUI uses a llama.cpp under the hood to run gguf files on device. A custom adapter is used to integrate with react-native: cui-llama.rn
To use on-device inferencing, first enable Local Mode, then go to Models > Import Model / Use External Model and choose a gguf model that can fit on your device's memory. The importing functions are as follows:
Import Model: Copies the model file into ChatterUI, potentially speeding up startup time.
Use External Model: Uses a model from your device storage directly, removing the need to copy large files into ChatterUI but with a slight delay in load times.
After that, you can load the model and begin chatting!
Note: For devices with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and above or Exynos 2200+, it is recommended to use the Q4_0 quantization for optimized performance.
Remote Mode
Remote Mode allows you to connect to a few common APIs from both commercial and open source projects.
Open Source Backends:
koboldcpp
text-generation-webui
Ollama
Dedicated API:
OpenAI
Claude (with ability to use a proxy)
Cohere
Open Router
Mancer
AI Horde
Generic backends:
Generic Text Completions
Generic Chat Completions
These should be compliant with any Text Completion/Chat Completion backends such as Groq or Infermatic.
Custom APIs:
Is your API provider missing? ChatterUI allows you to define APIs using its template system.

#Movuan #PINE64
The Movuan project was started by community member lxb and announced in a forum post as an alternative to mobile distributions using the #systemd init system. Thanks to being forked from Mobian, the project makes use of modified Mobian debos to build it’s images.
One of the modifications that lxb makes is an optional script which can customize a Movuan image to install extra software like AndroidImpEx for importing contacts and sms messages from an Android phone, Ungoogled Chromium, local caching DNS (bind) tunnelled through TLS (stubby) to privacy minded servers and an inbuilt adblocker through a caching proxy (squid). These modifications are a personal preference of lxb’s but anyone is free to use them to help improve their privacy.

⚡️Jack Dorsey’s Bitchat- built in a weekend?
Last month, Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey launched a new decentralized app: Bitchat—created in a weekend using AI.
It’s a Bluetooth mesh messaging app: no accounts, no phone numbers, no internet required.
⚠️ Beware of fake versions! Only download from bitchat.free
🔐 Bitchat uses:
• Bluetooth mesh networking (like Briar)
• The Noise Protocol (used by Signal & Wireguard)
• Ephemeral peer IDs for privacy
Useful in protests or blackouts—but with a 30m hop limit, it's only effective in dense areas. Max reach? ~300m if 10+ devices relay the message.
🤔 Built for iOS (a closed, vulnerable system) and developed by someone with ties to U.S. State Dept., it raises questions.
So is it a real privacy tool—or a showcase for Dorsey’s coding AI “Goose”? Either way, it hints at a new tech era: anyone can build powerful tools—fast.

Unboxing Elecrow ThinkNode M1 & M2 | #Meshtastic Setup, Field Test, Review & Off-Grid Comms Breakdown
https://rumble.com/v6v1uk1
In this video, I take you deep into the world of off-grid communication as I unbox and test two brand-new devices from Elecrow: the ThinkNode M1 and ThinkNode M2. These tools come pre-installed with Meshtastic firmware and are built for encrypted, decentralized communication — no SIM card, no Wi-Fi, and no cell towers required. Whether you’re prepping for a blackout, building a resilient mesh network, or just exploring survival tech, this video is packed with everything you need to know.
We start with a full unboxing of both devices, breaking down what makes each unique. The ThinkNode M1 is powered by the nRF52840 chip and includes a GPS module for location tracking, a 1.54” sunlight-readable EPD screen, and a 1200mAh battery built to last over 48 hours. It’s rugged, outdoor-ready, and ideal for emergency kits or remote travel. In contrast, the ThinkNode M2 is lighter, smaller, and powered by the ESP32-S3 chip. It includes a 1.3” OLED display, Bluetooth support, a 1000mAh battery, and is better suited for modular integration or stealthy builds.
After the unboxing, I walk you through a step-by-step setup of each device using the Meshtastic mobile app. I show you how to configure them, pair with Bluetooth, and get your private mesh network up and running in minutes. From there, I run live tests to see how each device performs in real-world conditions and compare their features, form factor, and best use cases.
If you’re interested in off-grid privacy tools, these are two of the most beginner-friendly and capable devices out there right now. I also include a breakdown of which device might be better depending on your needs—whether you’re building a neighborhood mesh or planning for emergency scenarios.
Make sure to check out the official product pages using the links below. These links track monthly performance, so I appreciate your support if you use them:

https://www.elecrow.com/blog/lora-modules-giveaway-and-pcb-assembly-sponsorship.html?idd=5
These tools are more than tech — they represent freedom. In a world where networks can go dark and censorship can silence, devices like these keep people connected, informed, and in control. With Meshtastic and LoRa, you are the signal. You are the network. And it’s all open source.
If you found this helpful, drop a comment, like the video, and subscribe for more content on off-grid tech, cybersecurity gadgets, and digital autonomy. Let me know which one you’d trust in your blackout bag — the rugged M1 or the sleek, portable M2.

The open-source mobile app Organic Maps is used by millions of people on both the Android and iOS platforms. In addition to featuring offline maps (generated from OpenStreetMap cartography) and turn-by-turn navigation, it also promises its users greater privacy than proprietary options. However, controversial decisions taken by the project's leaders, feelings of disenfranchisement among contributors, and even accusations of embezzlement have precipitated a divide in the community, leading to a new fork called CoMaps.

1. It supports debloating of various manufacturers and mobile carriers such as LG, Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, Realme, Vivo, ZTE, OnePlus, Nokia, Sony, Asus, Google, Fairphone, Motorola, Tecno, Unihertz.
2. Full access to the app’s private storage — including databases, tokens, cached credentials, config files, or even offline user data.
3. Another common issue in AndroidManifest.xml is this flag: When enabled (which it is by default unless explicitly disabled), Android allows the app’s private data to be backed up via ADB — again, even on non-rooted devices.

Google has announced that, starting in 2026/2027, all apps on certified Android devices will require the developer to submit personal identity details directly to Google.
Since the developers of this app do not agree to this requirement, this app will no longer work on certified Android devices after that time.

Over the past few years, a suspicious number of companies have started to "take care of your data", aka block/strictly limit your ability to unlock the bootloader on your own devices.
While this may not affect you directly, it sets a bad precedent. You never know what will get the axe next: Shizuku? ADB? Sideloading? I thought it might be a good idea to keep track of bad companies and workarounds.

Cryptographic Analysis of Delta Chat | UseNiX
Yuanming Song, Lenka Mareková, and Kenneth G. Paterson, ETH Zurich - Nov 2024
We analyse the cryptographic protocols underlying Delta Chat, a decentralised messaging application which uses e-mail infrastructure for message delivery.
It provides end-to-end encryption by implementing the Autocrypt standard and the SecureJoin protocols, both making use of the OpenPGP standard. Delta Chat's adoption by categories of high-risk users such as journalists and activists, but also more generally users in regions affected by Internet censorship, makes it a target for powerful adversaries. Yet, the security of its protocols has not been studied to date. We describe five new attacks on Delta Chat in its own threat model, exploiting cross-protocol interactions between its implementation of SecureJoin and Autocrypt, as well as bugs in rPGP, its OpenPGP library. The findings have been disclosed to the Delta Chat team, who implemented fixes.
