Attappadi Reserve Forest is a protected area covering 249 Sq Km of land of Mannarghat Taluk in Palakkad district of Kerala, India. Bordered in the east by Coimbatore district, west by the Nilgiri Hills, South by Palghat taluk and on the west by Mannarghat taluk, this Attappadi village is an extensive mountain valley.
The name came thus, because a black goat breed called “Attappadi black” is available in a Government farm here. The mountains here have various rock types that can be categorized into 7 broad types. Attappadi Reserve Forest receives a high rainfall of 4700 mm and gradually decreases to a low of 900 mm.

Thattekad Bird Sanctuary

Ernakulam Junction South (ERS)
One of the important stations in the city of Kochi in Kerala is the Ernakulam Junction railway station. The train has high passenger traffic and stands second highest in terms of passenger revenue in Kerala. The railway comes under the Thiruvananthapuram railway division. It is classified as A1 and is operated by the Southern Railway Zone of India. The station has a total of six platforms for both local and long-distance trains.
