The Valiyazheekkal Bridge or the Valiyazheekkal-Azheekkal Bridge is a bridge connecting between Valiyazheekkal, a coastal area of Aratupuzha village in Kayamkulam in Alappuzha district and Azheekal Beach in Alappad village of Kollam district in Kerala, India. Built across the mouth of the Arabian Sea, it is the longest tension steel bar concrete bowstring bridge in Asia. It is also the second longest bowstring bridge in Asia, after Chaotianmen Bridge in China. Valiyazheekkal is situated on the shore of Kayamkulam Town.

​​Kollamkolli Falls

Kollamkolli Falls is located in the valley of Chekkunnamalai in Vazhakode, about 12 km from Areekode in Malappuram district of Kerala. The waterfall falls in several layers at a height of about 300 feet and offers a breathtaking view to the tourists.

Those coming from Areekode town should take the road from Choolattipara market to the left to reach the waterfall. There is a large granite quarry near the falls and you have to go through it to reach the falls. The lifespan of this beautiful scene of nature is almost numbered.

Bathers and ascenders should be very careful as the cliffs have good slip. Understand the exact time of the eruption in the quarry and be careful not to go to the waterfall during those times, as rocks and other objects are more likely to explode into the waterfall.

Located at a distance of about 55 kilometres from Kanyakumari, the cascading waters of the Tirparappu Falls make up for an enchanting sight. This waterfall is a manmade one and falls from a height of 50 feet. The water collects in a quaint pool below which is an ideal place to frolic around, especially for children. On the banks of the Mananthavady River or locally known as ‘Pusha’, a tributary of the Kabini River, lies the municipality of Mananthavady, in Wanayad, Kerala. ​​📡 Dr. Kalam Smriti International Science and Space Museum

Dr. Kalam Smriti International Science and Space Museum, dedicated to the former president and space scientist Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, is situated at Vellanad in Thiruvananthapuram. This is South India’s first museum solely dedicated to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.

The museum showcases the personal memorabilia of the late president, rare photographs and miniature models of rockets, satellites, etc. and inspiring quotes.

A notable exhibit in the museum is an image of Rameshwaram where Dr. Kalam began his journey of life and his teachings. Another noteworthy exhibit is a replica of India’s heavy-lift launch vehicle GSLV Mk-III.
The Museum is an offshoot of Dr. Kalam Smriti International, an organisation that is functioning efficiently with the commendable support of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) at both technical and advisory levels.

​​Pothundy Dam

Pothundy dam is situated en route Nelliyampathy, about 8 kms from Nemmara. It is one of the oldest dams in India. Built in the 19th century, Pothundy is known for the unusual ingredients that went into building it. The dam was constructed using a mixture of molasses and quicklime instead of the usual concrete. It is built across Meenachadypuzha and Padipuzha rivers, which are tributaries of Ayalar River.

Pothundy dam is the major water source for people in Chittur taluk. There is also a garden and a walking track on top of the reservoir. The picture perfect location of the dam, surrounded by mountains, draws a lot of visitors here.

Situated at a distance of 18 km from Nilambur town,Nedumkayam is noted specially for its rich rain forests. The wooden rest house built here by the British offers a panoramic view of the elephants and deers grazing in the forest near by. ​​🔝 Alappuzha Lighthouse

Known for its breathtaking 360-degree views, the Alappuzha Lighthouse(Alleppey lighthouse) is an old-world charm. It is 4 km away from the main town lying on the sea bridge facing the Arabian sea coast. The 1862 lighthouse has a museum that preserves old equipment like oil lamps and items that testify to its 150-year-old journey.

Constructed using laterite stones and teak, the Allepey Lighthouse is 30 meters high and can hold up to 25 people at a time. The spiralling staircase with over 100 wooden steps is worth climbing for the magnificent view of Allepey Beach and surrounding areas.
It initially had a double wick, coconut oil lamp, which was used until 1952. Later the lamp was reinstated by a DA gas flasher and a 500 mm drum optic. The old equipment was changed again by an emergency lantern of 300mm and a direct drive system which finally was replaced by a 230V Metal Halide Lamp in 1999.

Established in the year 1958, the Peechi-Vazhani Wildlife Sanctuary is the second oldest wildlife sanctuary in Kerala. The ideal destination for any nature lover, this wildlife reserve comprises the Palappilli and Nelliyampathi forests and is spread across an area of 125 square kilometres. The northern boundary of the Chimmony Wildlife Sanctuary is also formed by the reserve.

Located only 36 km north of Kozhikode and renowned as the hometown of the famous athlete P. T. Usha is the quaint village of Payyoli. This village was first recognised when Vasco Da Gama, the famous Portuguese traveller, discovered a sea route to India and arrived at Kappad Beach, 21 km from Payyoli. The entire village is cradled in the laps of nature and has been blessed with scenic beauty like nowhere else. Popular for its cascading waterfalls, blue mountains, meandering rivers, clear waters and misty environment, Vagamon is a quaint little hilltown bordering the districts of Kottayam and Idukki. Three mighty hills known as Thangal, Murugan and Kurisumala form the essence of the town.
