Situated 8 km off Ernakulam is the Greenix village where various art forms of Kerala are practiced and developed. Every evening witnesses a mixed performance of Kathakali- the dance drama form of Kerala, Kalaripayattu- an aesthetic martial art form, audio-visual history at the in-house museum and Indian classical music in this cultural centre.

Yoga trainings are conducted every morning. The premises also house an art gallery, restaurant, a curio shop, book shop and rooms for researchers and trainees.

​​Subhash Park

Popularly known as Subhash Park, the Subhash Chandra Bose Park is situated along Marine Drive in Kochi, Kerala. The park, which overlooks the serene backwaters of Vembanad Lake and Kochi Harbour on one side and a bunch of trees on the other, is an excellent place for people to come and relax.

The park serves as an excellent relaxing space amidst the city and is a wonderful place for walking, jogging or just sitting and watching the sunset and the ships sail by. It was opened by Rajarishi Rama Varma, a Maharaja, and is also known for its many birds. It also houses sculptures made in the 1990s during a workshop for renowned sculptors, though many are unfortunately in ruins now. Children can have fun in the play area where there are swings, slides etc. Since it is right next to the Ernakulam Boat Jetty, people can also catch a government-operated boat to nearby historic spots.

Paithalmala is a hill station in the Kannur district of Kerala in India, located near Pottenplave. At a height of 4500 ft above from sea level, it is the highest geographic peak in Kannur. It is located 40 km from Taliparamba and 65 km from Kannur. Nestled in the Kerala Karnataka border near to Kodagu forests, it lies in the Western Ghats. Paithalmala is a popular trekking destination. There are two trekking seasons at Paithalmala: monsoon and summer. Trekking in Paithalmala can be challenging due to frequent rain, leeches, and occasional elephant visits.

​​Observatory

Situated on a hill at an elevation of about 60 metres above sea level (the highest point in the city), this astronomical observatory offers exquisite views of the surroundings and the city as a whole. Beautiful roses can be found in the garden in front. It was built in 1837 and is part of the Department of Physics, University of Kerala today. It is fast developing as one of India's most important astronomical centres with modern facilities like an 11-inch telescope, CCD camera, sun workstations, image processing facility and partnership with national programs.

The observatory was a brainchild of Sri Swathi Tirunal, the Maharaja of Travancore who was an ardent follower of astronomy. He took a particular interest in equipping it with the best instruments available in Europe at that time. Along with astronomical equipment, meteorological observations were also paid attention.

The instruments initially procured for the Observatory include a transit telescope with five feet focal length and four inches aperture, a transit clock, an altitude and azimuth instrument having 18 and 15-inch circles and powerful telescopes. Today, computational facilities, a library and audio-video facilities are available for students of the University. Sky-watching programs for students, teachers and the general public are organised in the evenings

​​PAPANASINI

Beginning in the Brahmagiri Hills, Papanisini river is one of the most important pilgrim tourist places in Wayanad. Literally, it translates to ‘washes away all sins’ and the river is considered to have divine powers.

Tourists flock here during Amavasya to take a dip in its waters and offer their prayers. The enchanting setting of the lush green hills and the gushing waters of the stream makes this river an idyllic spot.

This holy mountain stream also has a sacred rock Pinnappara where the last rites of the dead are performed.

It is a popular belief that Lord Rama and Lakshmana performed the ‘pithrukarma’ of their father King Dasaratha, standing on this rock. Surrounded by such majestic surroundings and having attached so many popular legends, this place is one of the most interesting Wayanad tourist places.

​​K. C. S. Panicker Gallery

The KCS Panicker Gallery, located adjacent to the Napier Museum in Thiruvananthapuram, is a dedicated space that honors the legacy of one of India’s most esteemed painters, K. C. S. Panicker. Born in 1911, Panicker was a pioneering figure in the Indian art scene, known for his metaphysical and abstract paintings. He played a significant role in establishing the Progressive Painters Association in Madras between 1944 and 1953, setting the stage for the modern art movement in South India. In recognition of his contributions to art, Panicker was nominated as one of the nine eminent artists of India by the Government of India.

The gallery, established in 1979 in his memory, houses an impressive collection of about 75 paintings and four bronze sculptures, showcasing the creative journey of Panicker over a span of 40 years. One of the highlights of the collection is the "Words and Symbols" series, internationally acclaimed for its intricate and thought-provoking designs. These works reflect Panicker's exploration of life’s forms and his unique approach to blending word and image, creating a visual language that continues to intrigue and inspire viewers.
