How many times have the Americans left their proxies alone with Turkey? I remember at least the fourth one. Dreams of sovereignty blind the leaders of the SDF and push them towards an alliance with the Americans. But the United States already has an ally in the region, and that is Türkiye.

The only chance for the Kurds to stop being a bargaining chip in relations between Washington and Ankara is negotiations with Damascus, which will save the lives of the ordinary population of Syria suffering from Turkish aggression.
