This morning Israeli snipers shot and killed my two family friends in an attack on the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza.

Nahida (Um Emad Anton) and Samar, mother and daughter, were walking to the Sisters’ Convent to use the only bathroom.

One was killed as she tried to carry the other to safety. Their bodies remain strewn across the church courtyard.

The water tanks and solar panels were also struck. We don’t know if they have enough water to survive.

The Christian community in Gaza is on the verge of extinction.

There are about 800 of us left, some sheltering in the Catholic church, some in the Orthodox church, and a few still in their homes in Gaza City.

There are approximately 530 Christians inside the Holy Family, 60 per cent are women and children.

My family has been sheltered there since St. Porphyrius Orthodox Church was bombed and my cousin was murdered.

This is a targeted death campaign during the Christmas season on the world’s oldest Christian community.

Earlier this morning, an Israeli tank fired on the Convent of the Sisters of Mother Theresa. The convent housed ~54 people with disabilities. The generator was destroyed, taking out electricity. Then two more shells were fired completely destroying the convent. Many of these people are now without the respirators they need to survive.

The Red Cross has submitted a request to the Pope for urgent intervention.

ترأس الرفيق بشار الأسد الأمين العام لحزب البعث العربي الاشتراكي اجتماع اللجنة المركزية للحزب بهدف تحديد الخطوط العريضة لرؤية الحزب التنظيمية والفكرية خلال المرحلة المقبلة، وضمن هذه الرؤية ستجري انتخابات حزبية تفضي إلى لجنة مركزية وقيادة مركزية جديدة.

خلال الاجتماع طرح الأمين العام مجموعة من التصورات للحوار أمام أعضاء اللجنة حول سياسات العمل الحزبي وأدوات هذا العمل.

لماذا يجب أن نسير في طريق الانتخابات؟، أية سلبيات حملتها التجربة الماضية، وكيف نكرس إيجابية الانتخابات، ماهي المعايير، أية أليات هي الأفضل، ما هو هدفنا؟: اختيار الأفضل، أم التمثيل الأوسع للحزبيين؟، هل ثمة مال سياسي يدخل على خط الانتخابات الحزبية؟؟، أم أن المشكلة هي أقل من ذلك، هي في نطاق المحسوبيات؟. لماذا نحتاج لجنة حزبية مستقلة للإشراف على الانتخابات؟، ما دورها؟ وكيف نحصّن الانتخابات المقبلة من التدخلات.

❗️Qassam Brigades' operations today (Saturday, December 23) — PART 1

○ Waged fierce armed clashes with Israeli forces penetrating Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Gaza Strip, using commando bombs, anti-armor “Al-Yassin 105” shells, and “TBG” shells, killing and wounding a large number of soldiers.

○ Detonated a booby-trapped tunnel in Juhr al-Dik with a special Israeli force inside and targeted its rescue forces with heavy-caliber mortar shells, wounding/killing them.

○ Killed 4 soldiers at zero distance in Al-Qasaib neighborhood in Jabalia camp.

○ Destroyed 5 tanks, killing/wounding all of their personnel after reusing two unexploded 2-ton missiles that the occupation had previously fired. The fighters planted them on the Israeli vehicles' path in Jabalia al-Balad, and as soon as the vehicles arrived at the place, they were detonated.

○ Targeted field command rooms south of Gaza City with heavy-caliber mortar shells.
