This prayer is a concise but comprehensive guide to human well-being. It reflects a profound understanding of human nature and its needs, as well as a deep spiritual insight into how one can attain a harmonious existence. It essentially summarises key objectives of human life: to live correctly, to protect one’s inner and outer self, and to be free from dependency.
The concept of Sabr (loosely translated as "patience") is multifaceted and deeply rooted in both the Qur’ān and Sunnah.
Classical scholars have often divided Sabr into different levels or categories to aid in its understanding and application.
Ibn al-Qayyim elaborates on the three levels of Sabr:
1. Sabr in Obedience to Allah
2. Sabr in Avoiding Sins
3. Sabr During Calamities & Trials
In his work Madārij al-Sālikīn, Ibn al-Qayyim states that these three types of patience are the foundation for a soul's journey towards Allah. They represent the multifaceted relationship between human willpower and divine guidance, each level requiring a specific form of spiritual discipline and focus.
Understanding and practising these three levels of Sabr can lead to a balanced and fulfilled life, helping us to navigate the complexities of obedience, avoid sin, and face life's challenges with faith and resilience.

1. Avoid Despair
Following the Battle of Uhud, Allah advised believers not to succumb to despair or sadness, as such feelings can weaken resolve.
2. Life's Tests
Difficulties, like the setback at Uhud, serve as tests to distinguish unwavering believers from the shaky ones. Challenges are often divine tests of faith.
3. Divine Balance
Both victory and defeat are from Allah. Successes and setbacks should be viewed as part of a divine balance; sometimes victory is given, sometimes defeat, teaching patience and resilience.
4. Anticipating Future Triumphs
Setbacks prepare individuals for future successes. Lessons from past challenges can pave the way for upcoming victories.
The main point to take away is to embrace life's challenges with patience, see them as opportunities for growth, and remain steadfast in faith, knowing that both good times and hard times come with lessons to be learned.

Some people are critical of Palestinians resisting, but here are some simple truths:
We’re not there.

They have their mashāikh. They have their fuqahā. They have their reasons for action and inaction; for war and for ceasefire.
While we don’t have to agree with everything everyone does, we don’t have to comment against someone whose reality we don’t fully know.
It's important to learn the history of the issue prior to forming an opinion.
Palestine is a frontline of the entire Ummah and Palestinians are in our prayers.
Allah give them victory over their oppressors, and give all the oppressed Muslims the same — whether they are in Kashmir, East Turkestan, India, Syria, Myanmar, Yemen, or anywhere else in the world.

Scholars have argued that Tawakkul serves as a psychological buffer against stress and anxiety. Knowing that the ultimate outcome is with Allah can bring inner peace.
Others assert that Tawakkul instils an ethical framework. Trust in Allah conditions the soul to be satisfied with outcomes and discourages unethical means to achieve goals.
Tawakkul offers a balanced approach to life, promoting both active engagement with the world and a serene trust in Divine wisdom.
The wisdom encapsulated in this narration speaks volumes about the importance of kindness in Islam, offering multiple dimensions worth exploring:
Universal Application: One striking element of this Hadith is its universality; it does not specify where kindness should be applied. This opens the door to a broad interpretation—kindness should be part of our dealings with everyone and everything, whether it's people, animals, or even the environment.
Inner and Outer Beauty: The word "beautifies" is profoundly chosen. Kindness is not merely an ethical or moral requirement but something that adds beauty to life. A kind act can illuminate a moment, a face, or an entire community.
Mental Health: Modern psychology also supports the wisdom found here, which affirms that acts of kindness can significantly improve mental health. It's as if the message encourages a spiritual form of positive psychology.
