💠Respond To The Greetings In a Better & More Courteous Way
{When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it (in a like manner). Certainly, Allaah is Ever a Careful Account Taker of all things} (4:86)
Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen said:
alaikum”, with clear words, then we respond to them saying: “Wa
The benefits from this Aayah are as follows:
1️⃣ It is an obligation to respond to the greetings, because of the saying of Allaah: {greet in return}. A command means a thing is obligatory.
2️⃣ The response to the greetings can be similar (to the greetings) or better.
The ruling for similarity (in manner) is taken from Allaah’s saying: {or return (the greeting) it (in a like manner)}.
And as for more complete and better (manner) is taken from His saying: {respond with what is better than it}.
And the instruction to respond in a better way was given precedence over the similarity in manner because it is more complete and virtuous.
3️⃣ (The religion of) Islaam gives high regards to treating with fairness, because of Allaah’s saying: {greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) respond to it (in a like manner)}
4️⃣ And from the benefits of this Aayah is that the Aayah is general, it includes everyone who greets us;
that we either respond to him in a manner similar to the way he greeted us, or in a more complete way, irrespective of whether he is a Muslim or a Kaafir, old or young; because the Aayah is general.
This is why Allaah said: {When you are greeted}, while keeping the one (who initiates the greeting) as anonymous, and He تعالى did not say: “If the Muslims greet you…”
Based on this, we say: “If a person from the people of the Book (Jew or Christian) greets us, and they say: “al-Salaamu alaikum al-Salaam”.
alaikum” only.
But if they say it in a way that is suspicious (or doubtful on what they said), then we respond to them, saying: “Wa
5️⃣ And from the benefits of this Aayah is that it is not proper to respond to the greeting with other than “al-Salaam”, that if a Muslim person says: “al-Salaamu alaik”, and you responded by saying: “Welcome and feel at ease!”, then you have not responded properly.
alaikum”, it is a supplication for your safety from every harm – whether it is physical, or financial, or psychological.
Why?! Because this response is not similar to it nor better than it.
When the one who greets says to you: “al-Salaamu
But responding with “Welcome and feel at ease!” is nothing more than just a greeting with the use of the tongue, and this is neither equal to (wa alaikum al-Salaam) in response nor better than it.
alaikum”) to respond in a more complete way, either in proportion (quantity) or in the manner (quality).
6️⃣ And from the benefits of this Aayah is that it is required from the one who is being greeted (with “al-Salaamu
If he is greeted with “al-Salaamu alaik”, then the better way is (to respond by saying): “Wa
alaik al-Salaam wa Rahmatullaah”, this is related to being better in proportion.
As for the manner, if he says: “al-Salaamu alaik”, in a raised, audible, humble voice (with enthusiasm), and you responded with “wa
alaik al-Salaam” with a similar tone or with a more clear voice (and enthusiasm), then this response is correct in regards to the method.
Whereas, if he says: “al-Salaamu `alaik”, in a distinct, clear, and raised voice, but you responded to him in a low tone, perhaps he may hear it or he may not hear it, then you have not responded to his greeting nor have you fulfilled your obligation.
Rather, you have sinned, because Allaah تعالى commanded to respond in a similar manner or better than it.
7️⃣ And from the benefits of this Aayah is that if a person greets you with saying: “Ahlan wa Sahlan!”, and you responded to him by saying “Ahlan wa Sahlan!” in return, then this is permissible.
Shun the phrases like:
Holy cow!
Holy s#!t!
Holy crap!
Holy mother of god!
These words have become a norm in the Western world as words to express their amazement, surprise, shock, or astonishment.
Not only are such words alien to Islaam, but also they are indecent, vulgar, reprehensible, and statements of Kufr. These Kuffaar do not even respect the "God" which they worship.
So be careful, one wrong word can destroy a person’s Hereafter. Use your words wisely.
🌴🌴🌴
Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه reported: The Prophet ﷺ said:
❝A man utters a word pleasing to Allaah without considering it of any significance for which Allaah exalts his ranks (in Jannah); another one speaks a word displeasing to Allaah without considering it of any importance, and for this reason he will sink down into Hell.❞
📚 [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree]
After narrating a Hadeeth Abu Hurairah commented saying: ❝By Him in Whose hand my soul is, he spoke a word by which this world and the next world of his were destroyed.❞
🌴🌴🌴
Also, they express their anger or frustration by uttering words like:
Damn you!
Damn! I forgot!
The word "Damn" is used for wishing harm upon someone or eternal punishment for them in Hell.
It is not permissible for a Muslim to curse another Muslim - whether a man or a woman. And if they did not deserve this curse, it will come back to the one who had initiated the curse.
Abu al-Dardaa’ رضي الله عنه reported the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ as saying:
❝When a man curses anything, the curse goes up to heaven and the gates of heaven are locked against it. Then it comes down to the earth and its gates are locked against it. Then it goes right and left, and if it finds no place of entrance it returns to the thing which was cursed, and if it deserves what was said (it enters it), otherwise it returns to the one who uttered it.❞
📚 [Sunan Abu Dawood (4905) and graded as "Hasan" by Shaikh al-Albaanee]
The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ also said: ❝Whoever curses something undeservingly, then the curse returns upon him.❞
📚 [Sunan Abu Dawood (4908) and graded as "Saheeh" by Shaikh al-Albaanee]
The Prophet ﷺ also said: ❝Do not invoke Allaah's curse, Allaah's anger, or Hell.❞

Tafseer: {All will be questioned about
{So by your Lord, We will surely question them all * About all that they used to do.} [Surah al-Hijr (15): 92-93]
Allaah تعالى also says:
{So know that none has the right to be worshipped but Allaah)} [Surah Muhammad (47): 19]
This is the Shahaadah: for which we were created; for which we will be tried and tested in this world; and about which it will be questioned on the Day of Judgment.
Imaam al-Bukhaaree رحمه الله said in his Saheeh:
Chapter (18): Whoever says that Imaan (Faith) is action (good deeds), referring to the statement of Allaah
{And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do (in the worldly life).} [Surah al-Zukhruf (43): 72]
And the saying of Allaah
{So by your Lord, We will surely question them all * About all that they used to do.} [Surah al-Hijr (15): 92-93], a number of religious learned men have explained that the questioning will be in regards to:
لا إله إلا الله
Laa ilaaha illallaah
There is no one worthy of being worshiped except Allaah.
And Allaah تعالى said:
{For the like of this let the workers work} [Surah al-Saaffaat (37): 61]
--end of quote from Saheeh al-Bukhaaree.
Imaam Ibn Katheer رحمه الله said in his Tafseer:
﴿فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْـَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ - عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴾
{So, by your Lord, We shall certainly call all of them to account. For all that they used to do.} Attiyah al-
Aufee reported that Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهما said about the saying of Allaah تعالى: {We shall certainly call all of them to account. For all that they used to do}, it (the questioning) is in regards to
Abdul Razzaaq reported from (Sufyaan) al-Thawree from Laith (Ibn Abi Saleem) that Mujaahid said: it is in regards to
Ibn Idrees reported from Laith, from Basheer that Anas bin Maalik رضي الله عنه also said: it is in regards to لا إله إلا الله.
Ibn Jareer reported from his chain that Abdullaah Ibn Mas
ood رضي الله عنه said: “By the One - none have the right to be worshiped except Him - there is none among you except that Allaah تعالى will speak to Him privately on the Day of Judgment; like how one of you is alone with the Moon on the night when it is full. He تعالى will say: ‘O son of Aadam! What has made deceived you concerning me (that you became disobedient)? O son of Aadam! How much did you implement of what you learned? O son of Aadam! What was your response to the Messengers?”
Abu Jafar reported al-Rabee
that Abu Aaliyah said: “All the people will be asked about two things on the Day of Judgment: what they used to worship and what their response was to the Messengers.” [This is in reference to verses 62 and 65 of Surah al-Qasas (28)]
Ali bin Abu Talhah reported that Ibn `Abbaas رضي الله عنهما said:
﴿فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْـَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ - عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴾
{So, by your Lord, We shall certainly call all of them to account. For all that they used to do.}
then he said:
{So on that Day no question will be asked of man or Jinn as to his sin} [Surah al-Rahmaan (55):39]. He said: “They will not be asked: “Did you do such and such” because Allaah تعالى knows better than they do about that. But He تعالى will say: “Why did you do such and such?””
--end of quote from Tafseer Ibn Katheer.
🔥 For the sake of Allaah or for the sake of Shaitaan?!
Kab ibn
Ujarah رضي الله عنه said: “A man passed by the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and his Companions were impressed by the man's strength and energy. They said: ‘O Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم, if only this was for the sake of Allaah!’
The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
🌟❝If he goes out to work for the sake of his young children, he is striving for the sake of Allaah;
🌟if he goes out to work for the sake of his aged parents, he is striving for the sake of Allaah;
🌟if he goes out to work to keep himself from having to beg, he is striving for the sake of Allaah;
🚫but if he goes out to work for the purposes of showing off and boasting, then he is striving in the way of the Shaytaan.❞

The Shaikh's reaction when realized that he is referring to the likes of himself....
https://youtube.com/watch?v=C29h3FIgxFs&feature=share9
Allaah تعالى described the hypocrites' lack of understanding. They used to sit before Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ and listen to his words without understanding anything. Then when they left from his presence, they used to ask the Companions رضي الله عنهم: “What did the Prophet ﷺ had just say?” They did not understand what he ﷺ said, nor did they care about it. They had neither sound understanding nor correct intentions. So, Allaah تعالى sealed their hearts and therefore, they did not comprehend the truth nor follow the guidance but followed their lust.
It is not like Allaah تعالى has deprived the people of equal opportunities, but it is the people who have oppressed themselves and are ungrateful, as Allaah تعالى says:
﴿وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ﴾
{It is He, Who has created for you (the sense of) hearing (ears), sight (eyes), and hearts (understanding). Little are you grateful.}
And also:
{…and there came to them their Messengers with clear proofs. Surely, Allaah wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves.}
This is from Allaah’s تعالى divine Justice. He تعالى reveals His Books, sends His Messengers, gives people ample opportunities to seek guidance, mend their ways, seek His forgiveness, turn to Him in repentance, and yet people are negligent.

💠Prohibition of raising one's eyes towards the sky during the Salaah
🎓 Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen

💠 How to protect ourselves from religious burnout!
Due to constant pressure in life, and what seems like: "never ending trials", the exposure to Haraam (prohibited things), the competition to amass worldly luxuries and comfort, many people get tired, burned-out, and they take their frustration out on Allaah and His religion. This leads them to become careless or totally abandon their religion.
The religious burnout begins when a person starts thinking as, "I" and "me". "Why am I suffering?", "Why does he have it and I don’t?", "When will this end?" etc.
🌴 To avoid this one has to contemplate:
1️⃣ First and foremost, stop thinking that the world revolves around you. Your creation is for a purpose, and your living and your death should be for a purpose, and that is, “the worship of Allaah عز وجل”:
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
{And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.}
📚[Surah al-Dhaariyaat (51): 56]
{Say (O Muhammad ﷺ): “Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allaah, Lord of the worlds.}
📚[Surah al-Anaam (6): 162]
qoob, Yusuf, Ayyoob عليهم السلام and others went through sever trials.
2️⃣ Allaah تعالى did not promise a permanent comfortable life to anyone on this earth, not even to His Prophets and Messengers عليهم السلام:
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born an orphan, his mother passed away while he was still young, months would pass by and all he would have is dates to eat and water to drink. Except for Faatimah رضي الله عنها, all his other children passed away in his lifetime. He would sleep on bedding made of palm fiber which would leave traces on his body.
Nooh, Ibraaheem, Ya
3️⃣ You will tested to the vey core:
{Or do you think that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, "When (will come) the Help of Allaah?" Yes! Certainly, the Help of Allaah is near!}
📚[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 214]
So, be in this world like a traveler, who stopped under a shade for taking rest and then he moves on, and don't attach yourself to the world too much. As the Prophet ﷺ had said.
📚[Saheehain]
4️⃣ Do not be of those, who when something of the treasures and comfort of this world is given to them, they become pleased, but when it is taken away from them, they become displeased:
فَأَمَّا الْإِنسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ * وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ
{As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): "My Lord has honoured me."But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!"}
📚[Surah al-Fajr (89): 15-16]
Allaah تعالى also mentioned:
{If they are given part thereof, they are pleased, but if they are not given thereof, behold! They are enraged!}
📚[Surah Tawbah (9): 58]
The Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Perish the slave of Dinaar, Dirham, Qateefah (thick soft cloth), and Khameesah (a garment), for if he is given, he is pleased; otherwise he is dissatisfied.❞
📚[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (2886, 2887, 6435)]
5️⃣ Be grateful if you receive and be patient if you don’t
Be firm in your prayer, be constant in your supplication, and be certain for the response from Allaah سبحانه وتعالى. From the depths of darkness, you will see the light of response.
It is Allaah تعالى Who will respond to your invocations, heal your hearts, elevate your status, suffice your needs, enrich you, and make you satisfied.
For after every difficulty there is ease, and after every endurance (Sabr) there is glad tiding.
3️⃣ Pairing Aayah on Tawakkal with Surah Yusuf:
{And to Allaah belongs the Ghaib (unseen) of the heavens and the earth, and to Him return all affairs (for decision). So worship Him (O Muhammad ﷺ) and put your trust in Him. And your Lord is not unaware of what you (people) do} till His saying: {Alif, Laam, Raa. These are the verses of the clear Book.}
📚[Surah Hood (11): 123 – till end of Surah Yusuf]
Al-Haafidh Ibn Katheer said: “Allaah تعالى informs that He is the All-Knower of the unseen of the heavens and the earth and that unto Him is the final return. He explains that everyone who does a deed, He will give them their deed (reward for it) on the Day of Reckoning. Unto Him belongs the creation and the command.
Then He تعالى commands that He should be worshipped and relied upon, for verily, He is sufficient for whoever trusts and turns to Him.
Concerning His statement: (And your Lord is not unaware of what you do.) This means, “The lies (of the disbelievers) against you O Muhammad ﷺ are not hidden from Him. He is the All-Knower of the conditions of His creatures and He will give them the perfect recompense for their deeds in this life and the Hereafter. He will aid you (Muhammad ﷺ) and His party over the disbelievers in this life and in the Hereafter.”
📚[Tafseer Ibn Katheer]
After Allaah تعالى commanded Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to continue worshiping Him – irrespective of what the Kuffaar do - and to put the trust in his Lord, Allaah تعالى mentioned Surah Yusuf, as if to teach us how Allaah took control of the affairs of Yusuf’s عليه السلام life. The whole of Surah Yusuf is about patience and trusting on Allaah for all our affairs, as Allaah تعالى said:
﴿وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُ مِن تَأْوِيلِ الْأَحَادِيثِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَىٰ أَمْرِهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ﴾
{Thus did We establish Yusuf in the land, that We might teach him the interpretation of events. And Allaah has full power and control over His Affairs, but most of men know not.}
[Surah Yusuf (12):21]
Yusuf عليه السلام was separated from his father, went through a lot ordeals, only to fulfill a far superior role in the end.
This is how Allaah تعالى ends Surah Hood with the command to worship Him and to trust Him in all our affairs and He تعالى then gives the example from the story of Yusuf عليه السلام.
🌴🌴🌴
Conclusion:
These were a few examples, and one would find many more examples, like how Surah al-Faatihah ends with mentioning about the people who earned Allaah’s anger and who went astray (meaning the Jews and Christians) and then most part of Surah al-Baqarah deals with the misguidance of Banee Israa’eel, to teach us about the mistakes they fell into. And when Allaah mentioned about guidance in Surah al-Faatihah, He تعالى mentioned the way to seek guidance and the qualities of those who are guided in the beginning Aayaat of Surah al-Baqarah.
And Allaah knows best.
Sometimes and not all the time!!!
{And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to those who are patient}
[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 155]
What did Allaah تعالى say in this Aayah?
Did He تعالى say that He will afflict you with fear, hunger, and loss in wealth and health all the time?
No! Rather, He تعالى said: {with something}, meaning, a little of each. A person will not be in fear all the time, it will not be constant, but rather it will vary. As Ibn Katheer said in his Tafseer: ❝He تعالى tests them sometimes (by providing them) with bounties and favors, and sometimes with the afflictions of fear and hunger.❞
So, a person may face fear every now and then, but the majority of the time he is safe and living in peace. A person sometimes may suffer pangs of hunger, he might not find anything to eat, but most of the time he eats to his fullest and is satisfied. Sometimes person falls sick, but most of the time he is healthy and well.
Allaah سبحانه وتعالى out of His infinite mercy did not fill your whole life with afflictions and troubles. If He تعالى took a thing from you, He تعالى gave you something else. Ponder at yourself, when you are afflicted, only one thing might be taken from you, but you still have so many good things with you for which you fail to thank Allaah. You might face one trouble in the whole day, but most of your day went well. We complain to Allaah for what we have lost, but we fail to thank Him for what we have. As Allaah تعالى said:
{Verily! Man is ungrateful to his Lord}
[Surah al-`Aadiyaat (100): 6]
Al-Hasan al-Basree رحمه الله said: “al-Kanood”, meaning: ❝The one who is ungrateful. He who counts the calamities (that befall him), and he forgets Allaah’s favors (upon him).❞
📚 [Tafseer Ibn Katheer, Tafseer Ibn Abee Haatim]
💠 We and our oppressors:
A major reason for our intense sorrow is due to our hatred for our oppressors. We become obsessed with: "Why do they get to enjoy while we are suffering? It is because of their wrongdoings that we are in this situation!"
In our hatred for them, we pray for their annihilation or severe suffering, more than what we have suffered. In this process, we allow them to stay rent free in our minds and thoughts.
So, while they might have moved on with their lives and forgotten how much damaged they have caused, we are still stuck in the past and trapped in our rage.
In this situation there are five things in our control, and one is for Allaah to decide.
✅️ What is required from us:
1️⃣ Be firm that what you lost will be compensated by Allaah, if not in this world then in the Hereafter, and the reward for your patience will never be lost by Allaah.
2️⃣ Ask Allaah for your rights.
3️⃣ Be patient and obedient.
4️⃣ Be thankful to Allaah in every situation and you will find tranquility within yourself.
5️⃣ Be content that Allaah is the Best of Judges and that His Judgment is Just.
⛔️ What is not for us to decide:
6️⃣ It is completely upon Allaah to judge and decide what to do with those who have wronged us. He تعالى may forgive them if they repent, or He will punish them.
🌴🌴🌴
So, in trying to destroy them don't destroy yourself. Your rage and anger will only hurt you.
🌴🌴🌴
So, since we believe Allaah to be the best Judge and the Most Wise, then do not be bothered with what Allaah does to them. But be concerned with Allaah will do to you for you.
Jannah has many grades and our aim is for the highest.
📚[In shaa Allaah, a more detailed explanation will be shared in the upcoming book]
But it is better, and especially for the students of knowledge, to explain to this person that the legislated form of greeting is to say: “al-Salaamu alaikum”.
Uthaymeen]
Moreover, there are clear known etiquettes while greeting with “al-Salaam”, with longer and detailed explanation mentioned in the books of the scholars.
The Fuqahaa (the scholars of Islaam) have profoundly discussed on the etiquettes of greeting in their books, near the end of the book (or chapters) related with Funerals.
When they talked about the etiquette of saying “al-Salaam” to the dead, they also talked about the etiquette of saying “al-Salaam” to the living.
Also, books on Islaamic etiquette and manners have also discussed in length about this.
8️⃣ And from the benefits of this noble Aayah is that (one learns that) verily, Allaah عز وجل is a Careful Account Taker of all things,
Meaning: He will judge everyone who does good deeds, (and reward) them according to their actions. This is one of the two explanations on the meaning of “al-Haseeb”.
As per the second explanation, it means that: He is sufficient for those who rely on Him (and trust Him).
9️⃣ And from the benefits of this noble Aayah is that there is clear warning in this for those who do not respond to the greetings in a similar manner or better than it.
This is taken from the saying of Allaah: {Certainly, Allaah is Ever a Careful Account Taker of all things}, meaning: be warned (about the Day) when your deeds will be presented to Allaah عز وجل for judgment.

al-Kalim (concise in wording but comprehensive in meaning), In a few words the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم explained the rights of Allaah, His Book, His Messengers, the Imaams and the common Muslims have upon us. When the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “The religion is sincerity”, it means the essence of this Deen is nothing but Naseehah. And this is why it becomes more important for us to understand this Hadeeth as explained by the scholars.
The purpose was to gather all the benefits regarding this Hadeeth, mentioned in these three different books by these two noble Shaikhs and combine them into one book for the maximum benefit and understanding.

Narrated Abdullaah ibn Mas
ood رضي الله عنه: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “On the Day of Resurrection the feet of the son of Adam will not move away till he is questioned about five matters: on what he spent his life, in doing what he made his youth pass away; whence he acquired his property, on what he spent it, and what he did regarding what he knew.” [Sunan al-Tirmidhee (2416) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee in al-Saheehah (946)]
Did We not give you lives long enough?
Allaah تعالى said:
{Did We not grant you an age long enough so that whoever was willing to take heed could take heed? And the warner came to you.}
[Surah al-Faatir (35):37]
The Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Allaah will not accept the excuse of any person whose instant of death is delayed till he is sixty years of age.❞
[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (6419)]
(And the poet said):
❝When the children of men have grown big…
…And when the lives become accustomed to pain.
And when the suffering increases due to (prolonged) illnesses…
…Then they (people) are like vegetation, whose harvest (death) is near.❞
♻️ Importance of learning the right way to offer the Salaah
1️⃣ Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:
❝Indeed the first deed by which a servant will be called to account on the Day of Resurrection is his Salaah. If it is complete, he is successful and saved, but if it is defective, he has failed and lost. So if something is deficient in his obligatory (prayers) then the Lord عز وجل will say (to the Angels while He knows best): {Look and see whether My slave has any voluntary prayers to make up for what is deficient from his obligatory prayers.} Then the rest of his deeds will be treated like that.❞

2️⃣ `Ammaar bin Yasir رضي الله عنهما said: I heard the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ say: ❝ A man returns after saying his prayer while only a tenth part of his prayer, or a ninth part, or an eight part, or a seventh part, or a sixth part, or a fifth part, or a third part, or half of it, is recorded for him.❞

3️⃣ Narrated Zaid bin Wahb: Hudhaifah رضي الله عنه saw a person who was not performing the bowing and prostration perfectly. He said to him: ❝You have not prayed and if you should die you would die on a religion other than that of Muhammad
📚[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (791)]
4️⃣ Zayd bin Wahb reports: We were once sitting in the Masjid with Hudhaifah (ibn Al-Yamaan) رضي الله عنه when a man entered from the gates of Kindah and stood to pray; but he did not complete the bowing or prostration postures. When he had finished praying, Hudhaifah asked him: ❝How long have you been praying in this manner?❞ The man replied: “For forty years.” Hudhaifah said: ❝You have not prayed for forty years! And if you were to die praying in this manner you would die upon a way (fitrah) other than the way of Muhammad

⚡️11. Be patient with your children:
It is not proper for parents to supplicate against their children for being disobedient or not listening to them. The prohibition of this has been mentioned in some of the Ahaadeeth. The parents should beware lest due to their supplications against their own children, the children are placed in difficulty, then its consequences will fall upon the parents. Even if children are disobedient to their parents, and irrespective of how hopeless a situation may seem, there is always hope for them to change. So, the parents should not quickly resort to supplicating against them.
The Prophet ﷺ forbade from supplicating against one’s children, one’s wealth, and one’s own self, lest that be made at a time when the supplications are answered. He ﷺ said: ❝Do not pray against yourselves, do not pray against your children, do not pray against your wealth - lest that coincides with a time when Allaah is asked and He provides - so He answers your prayer.❞1️⃣
The parents’ supplication for or against their children is answered as the Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Three supplications are answered, there being no doubt about them: the prayer of one who is wronged, the prayer of the traveler, and the supplication of a father for his child.❞ 2️⃣
In another narration, the wording is: ❝and the supplication of a father against his son.❞ 3️⃣
Broken hearted parents only supplicate against their children when driven completely to the wall, and naturally, a supplication arising from the bottom of one’s heart stands the best chance of being answered by Allaah. But instead, the parents should be patient, and supplicate for their children instead of against them. They should supplicate to Allaah for their guidance and to set their affairs straight.
It is Allaah’s Mercy, Forbearance, and Kindness that He تعالى does not answer the erroneous supplications made by the people in haste or when angry, especially the supplications of the angry parents against their children, as Allaah تعالى said:
﴿وَيَدْعُ الْإِنسَانُ بِالشَّرِّ دُعَاءَهُ بِالْخَيْرِ ۖ وَكَانَ الْإِنسَانُ عَجُولًا﴾
{And man invokes (Allaah) for evil as he invokes (Allaah) for good and man is ever hasty (i.e., if he is angry with somebody, he invokes (saying): “O Allaah! Curse him etc.” and that one should not do, but one should be patient)} 4️⃣
Allaah تعالى also said:
{And were Allaah to hasten for mankind the evil (they invoke for themselves and for their children, etc. while in a state of anger) as He hastens for them the good (they invoke) then they would have been ruined. So, We leave those who expect not their meeting with Us, in their trespasses, wandering blindly in distraction} 5️⃣
Al-Haafidh Ibn Katheer رحمه الله said: “Here Allaah tells us of His Forbearance and Kindness towards His slaves, for He تعالى does not respond to their supplications them when they pray against themselves or their wealth, or their children during times of grief or anger. He تعالى knows that they do not truly intend evil for themselves so He تعالى doesn’t respond to them out of kindness and mercy, as He does when they pray for themselves or their wealth or their children for goodness, blessing, and growth. Had He تعالى responded to all of their evil requests, it (their evil supplications) would have destroyed them. However, people should avoid praying for evil as much as they can.”6️⃣
And the Prophet ﷺ said: ❝Do not pray against yourselves, do not pray against your children, do not pray against your wealth - lest that (your supplication) coincides with a time when Allaah is asked and He provides - and He grants your request.❞ 7️⃣

💠 The gifts of Allaah for His slaves:
Al-Taqwa (God-consciousness), al-Imaan (Faith), al-Huda (Guidance), al-Hikmah (Wisdom), al-Sabr (Patience), al-Hilm (Forbearance), and al-Riqqah (Gentleness, Softheartedness) are not something that you can buy from a store! These are not obtained through wishful thinking! These are given by Allaah سبحانه وتعالى to His slaves as an honor from Him to them. Allaah عز وجل only gives them to those who deserve it.
1️⃣ Al-Taqwa (God-consciousness), al-Imaan (Faith) and al-Hudaa (Guidance):
Allaah تعالى says:
﴿يَمُنُّونَ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ أَسْلَمُوا ۖ قُل لَّا تَمُنُّوا عَلَيَّ إِسْلَامَكُم ۖ بَلِ اللَّهُ يَمُنُّ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ هَدَاكُمْ لِلْإِيمَانِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ﴾
{They regard as favor upon you (O Muhammad ﷺ) that they have embraced Islaam. Say: “Count not your Islaam as a favor upon me. Nay, but Allaah has conferred a favor upon you, that He has guided you to the Faith, if you indeed are true}
{While as for those who accept guidance, He increases their guidance, and bestows on them their piety.}
2️⃣ Al-Hikmah (Wisdom):
{He grants Hikmah (wisdom) to whom He pleases, and he, to whom Hikmah is granted, is indeed granted abundant good}
Muaawiyah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝When Allaah wishes good for anyone, He bestows upon him the Fiqh (comprehension) of the religion.❞
ee رحمه الله said in one of his poems:
Imaam al-Shaafi
“I complained to Wakee` about my bad memory…
So he directed me towards abandoning sins.
And said: Know that the knowledge is Light…
And the Light of Allaah is not bestowed upon a sinner.”
3️⃣ Al-Sabr (Patience):
Allaah تعالى said:
{And be patient, and your patience is not but through Allaah}
The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝…And he who shows al-Sabr (endurance), Allaah will strengthen him to have al-Sabr (i.e., grant him the power to endure). And no one has been given a blessing better, more vast (and encompassing) than patience.❞
Al-Hasan al-Basree said: “al-Sabr (patience) is a treasure from the treasures of goodness, and Allaah does not give it (to anyone) except the slave who is more noble to Him.”
4️⃣ Al-Hilm (Forbearance, Clemency):
The Prophet ﷺ said to al-Ashajj: ❝You have two characteristics which Allaah likes: al-Hilm (forbearance) and al-Anaah (deliberation).❞ He asked: Have I acquired them or has Allaah created (them) in my nature? He ﷺ replied: ❝No, Allaah has created (them) in your nature.❞ He (al-Ashajj) then said: “Praise be to Allaah, Who has created in my nature two characteristics which are beloved to Allaah and His Messenger.”
5️⃣ Al-Rifq:
Abu al-Dardaa رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝Whoever was given his share of al-Rifq (gentleness), then he has been given his share of good. And whoever has been prevented from his share of al-Rifq (gentleness), then he has been prevented from his share of good.❞
🌴🌴🌴
These are some of the gifts which Allaah تعالى bestows upon His chosen slaves. Allaah gives equal opportunities to all His slaves, but not everyone who listens to the Qur’aan is guided; not everyone who sees the light follows it; and not everyone who hears the truth accepts it. As Allaah تعالى said:
{And among them are some who listen to you (O Muhammad ﷺ) till, when they go out from you, they say to those who have received knowledge: “What has he said just now? Such are men whose hearts Allaah has sealed, and they follow their lusts (evil desires).}
The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: ❝How wonderful is the case of a believer; for all his affairs are good for him, and this applies only to a believer. If something good happens to him, he is thankful for it and that is good for him; if something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience and that is good for him.❞
📚[Saheeh Muslim (7138)]
6️⃣ Be constant in your Ibaadah and do not make it conditional, i.e., you will only worship if you get something or else you will stop. Rather, worship Allaah till your death, whether you get something or not.
{And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death)}
📚[Surah al-Hijr (15): 99]
{And among mankind is he who worships Allaah as it were, upon the very edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts back to disbelief after embracing Islaam). He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss.}
📚[Surah al-Hajj (22): 11]
7️⃣ Our stay on this earth is not permanent, so the aim should be al-Jannah
{But of mankind there are some who say: "Our Lord! Give us (Your Bounties) in this world!" and for such there will be no portion in the Hereafter. And of them there are some who say: "Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!" For them there will be alloted a share for what they have earned. And Allaah is Swift at reckoning.}
📚[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 200-202]
8️⃣ It is the love of the Dunya that makes people abandon the religion, apostatize, or become hypocritical:
{Whoever disbelieved in Allaah after his belief - except for the one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart remains firm in Faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allaah, and for them is a great punishment; That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allaah does not guide the disbelieving people.}
📚[Surah al-Nahl (16): 106-107]
When people get exposed to Haraam and all types of vices, and when religious ignorance is rampant, then people start to drift away from the religion. They stop praying, men shave their beards, women abandon their Hijaab, children become disobedient, etc.
Our stay on this earth as compared to the Hereafter is nothing in terms of time and luxury. So, don't ruin your eternity for a pleasure of a few minutes.
🌴🌴🌴
🌟 Have trust in Allaah’s promise and be patient.
💠Teaching Through Examples

The worst type of deception is when they try to convince you that religion is in the heart and not with the apparent actions.
If indeed the heart was righteous, its effect would be apparent in the actions.

#Deception
💠 Leading Through Examples:
In the Qur’aan we come across many Aayaat that are arranged in such a way that we, a lot of times, fail to understand the wisdom behind their arrangement. At first glance, we would not be able to make any connections between these different Aayaat and their arrangements, but upon pondering over them again and again, one can appreciate the Wisdom of Allaah سبحانه وتعالى.
⚡️ A few examples of such pairing of Aayaat are as follows:
aa paired with Aayaat on Fasting
1. Aayaat on Patience paired with Aayah of al-Safa & al-Marwah
2. Aayaah of Du
3. Aayah on Tawakkal paired with Surah Yusuf
It is like when Allaah تعالى instructed His Prophet ﷺ and the Believers to be patient, He تعالى gave an example in Patience. And when He تعالى instructed His Prophet ﷺ and the Believers to trust Him in all our affairs, He تعالى gave an example in Trust.
🌴🌴🌴
1️⃣ Pairing of Aayaat on Patience with Aayah of al-Safa & al-Marwah:
Right after the Aayaat on al-Sabr, Allaah تعالى mentioned about al-Safa and al-Marwah. Allaah تعالى said:
{And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits} till His saying: {Indeed, al-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allaah}
📚[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 155-158]
The pairing between these Aayaat is really wonderful. This Aayah is mentioned right after the Aayaat on al-Sabr, as if Allaah تعالى is reminding us about the people who were tried severely, i.e., the Khaleel of Allaah, Ibraaheem عليه السلام and his family. He عليه السلام left his family in the middle of the desert, complying with the instructions of his Lord, and was patient. And Umm Ismaa’eel ran between the two mountains, between al-Safa and al-Marwah, seeking water for her son.
“The connection of this Aayah with those before it is from many perspectives… one of them being: When Allaah تعالى said: {And We will surely test you with something of fear…} till His saying: {but give good tidings to those who are patient}, and He تعالى said: {Indeed, al-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allaah}, the reason why Allaah تعالى arranged it that way (and Allaah knows best) is because going between al-Safa and al-Marwah are from the legacy of Haajar and Ismaaeel, and the ordeal that befell them. And from this they concluded that whoever is patient when faced with adversities, will reach greater levels and higher stations (in Jannah).”

🌴🌴🌴
2️⃣ Pairing of Aayaah of Du
Allaah تعالى said:
{O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the Fasting) is prescribed for you} till His saying: {And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad ﷺ) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me} till His saying: {It is made lawful for you to have sexual relations with your wives on the night of As-Saum (the fasts).}
📚[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 183-187]
While commenting on Aayah # 186 (on Duaa), Shaikh Ibn al-
Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:
“From the benefits of this Aayah is that (the state of) Fasting is the most likely time for the acceptance of the Duaa, because Allaah تعالى mentioned this Aayah in between the Aayaat on Fasting, He تعالى especially mentioned it near the end of the Aayah on Fasting.
aa near the last part of the day in which he is Fasting – meaning near the time of breaking the Fast.
Some people of knowledge have said that there is another benefit that one learn from this Aayah: i.e., a person should make the Du
