Thank you to all of those who participated in the Humanode Short Story Contest! The time has come to announce the winners!
The winner of the Short Story contest goes to SilverSkye for the creation of “Never letting go: A Vortex Love Story”, most likely the world’s first love story based on Vortex! The storyline was something the creators of Vortex never imagined, and may never come to be, but that is the power of fantasy and imagination! The writer managed to grab a spark of imagination of a “what if…” after understanding the Vortex, and gave it a growth path that we had never imagined. Kudos to SilverSkye!
Second place will be given to Fed0798 for writing “The Ancient City”, a story about struggling governance, the importance of education, and the importance of thinking of the growth of the whole community and not just grabbing power in the hands of a few. Although not themed around Vortex per se, the concepts shared in the short story showed the importance of striving to work for justice and the well-being of all.
The third place was a tough call. However, we will give the prize to Venus1084. The story was one of striving to fight for justice and equality, to preserve the balance of nature, and to develop new technologies, centered around Vortex.
There will be no “special mention” prize.
One thing to note is that there were a number of stories that we were not able to enjoy due to “No permission to view the files”. We truly wished we would have been able to enjoy those stories. One other matter is the use of ChatGPT and other AIs. There were only 5 submissions that were fully written by humans, with one of them being iffy depending on where it was checked, and one submission that some enjoyed but was recognized as an almost direct copy of the story plot of Blade Runner. Although the team recognizes that AIs can assist in many processes, the rules stated that the stories were to be written by humans, and thus all that were labeled to have used ChatGPT for more than 20% of the story, fully confirmed by 4 checkers, were disqualified.

We introduced a new feature in BotBasher biometric authorization. Now, during the authorization process, users will see their Discord account details (username and avatar) to ensure they are linking to the right account.

Significant progress has been made in localizing the Humanode website. Several locales are almost ready. We also adjusted the header, and fonts, and made some minor fixes.

Our team is actively working on integrating Telegram with BotBasher. We've developed and tested various integration schemes, identifying necessary chat settings. Verified actions include getting chat participants, kicking users from chats, listening to chat join requests, and monitoring chat config changes. Implementation work will start this week. 🔺 Biometric Provider UX Upgrade
We have updated the browser component of our main biometric provider. The upgrade improves user experience by providing specific error messages, informing users about the exact issues with biometric verification.
🔺 Biostaker Enhancements
We've upgraded the Biostaker, refining the logic of old smart contracts. Alongside the new WeHMND/USDC pool, a new LP staking program for WeHMND/WETH is planned, with 913,230 HMND allocated for 6 months. Users will soon be able to bridge WETH from Arbitrum at a lower fee. Stay tuned for more details!
🔺 Mainnet Website Localization
Great progress has been made in localizing the Humanode website. Localization has been shipped, with Russian and Japanese locales in progress. Additionally, we're optimizing fonts for better accessibility.

With sad hearts, we must announce that the current LP staking program is coming to an end on May 18th. Good things must come to an end… but only if we want it to! The Humanode Core team has decided to extend the duration of the current LP staking program by another 6 months by adding 2,628,000 HMND (the same amount as the last pool) to the WeHMND/USDC reward pool!
The current participants will be required to restake to a new pool. Once that’s done, rewards will start rolling in again the moment the reward pool is replenished.

Hello, human nodes! Welcome to our biweekly report, where we cover the latest news, development updates, and recent events from the Humanode project. Let’s dive in!
Last week, the team conducted comprehensive updates to Humanode’s primary biometric provider, Facetec.
The biometric servers were updated and rebooted. Please go through bio-authentication enrollment and reauthenticate to ensure your node continues to run seamlessly without missing an epoch. No key rotation is necessary, but re-enrollment is required.
The biometric servers for Humanode Biostaker have also been updated. To claim your rewards, please Biomap. This update does not affect your stakes, but Biomapping is necessary to claim rewards.
On top of that, BotBasher has been updated to Gen4, and the server has been reset. Gen3 roles are now deprecated. Server administrators need to create new roles based on Gen4 BotBasher. Users on the Humanode Discord server can re-verify to obtain new roles. This one-time verification will be valid across all Gen4 Discord servers. Remember, biometrics can only be tied to one Discord account. Mistakes in account linking will require a six-month wait for the next reset.
Significant progress continues on Humanode’s blockchain infrastructure. The team is merging v0.9.42 of Substrate and has included support for BLS12–381 and BN128 into the 118 runtime spec version. These updates will be available on it6 and testnet5 this week. For detailed insights, visit Humanode GitHub.
A new proprietary testing tool has been developed, addressing the limitations of ZombieNet, especially in scaling to large node numbers. This tool enables testing across multiple nodes, with plans to scale up to 5k validators in the near future.
Furthermore, the team is experimenting with Confidential Virtual Machine (CVM) attestation, starting with a chat server example. This CVM will allow authorized clients to exchange messages if verified, representing a significant step in Humanode’s R&D efforts.

🔺Launching WETH/WeHMND LP Biostaking
On June 13th, 2024, we launched the WETH/WeHMND LP Biostaking program. Users can now add liquidity to the WETH/WeHMND pair and stake their LP tokens on the Humanode Biostaker platform. This involves pairing Wrapped Ethereum (WETH) with Wrapped Humanode (WeHMND) tokens to create a liquidity pool, which helps facilitate trades and transactions on the network. We also made minor updates to the WeHMND/USDC staker.
🔺Researching Telegram Integration
Our team is progressing with the integration of BotBasher with Telegram. The initial integration scheme is almost complete, and all components have been harmonized into a cohesive system. Last week, we had a session with experts, discussing implementation details. Based on their feedback, we are refining the scheme and making adjustments.
🔺 Progressing Blockchain

🔺Enhancing Blobs’ Integration

In terms of partnerships, Humanode continues to expand its ecosystem. The collaboration with Analog will facilitate seamless connectivity between Humanode and other chains, enabling dApps to leverage Humanode’s cryptobiometric technology for Sybil-resistance. Additionally, the partnership with ContinuumDAO brings decentralized MPC infrastructure to the Humanode EVM, enhancing cross-chain functionality and liquidity. 🔺 E2E Network Testing
Last week, we improved the Humanode network codebase by adding additional E2E tests and fixing warnings. We are developing a proprietary testing tool to address the limitations of ZombieNet, particularly in scaling to large node numbers. The goal is to scale up to 5K validators in the near future.
🔺 Robonode Enhancements
Robonode is our term for an autonomous virtual machine (VM) operating within a Trusted Execution Environment that securely stores the biometric data of validators. Last week, we completed the integration of the ScanResultBlob pattern on the Robonode side.
🔺 BotBasher and Biomapper Updates
Sessions in BotBasher and Biomapper now expire after 6 hours, a change from the previous configuration where sessions did not expire at all.
