🔺 Exploring CVM Attestation
We've successfully completed the proof of concept (POC) for experimental research on Confidential Virtual Machine (CVM) attestation. We developed a Rust utility for attestation, which includes both a web transport server and a web transport client. The client now verifies the measurement and CVM signature as well as the security of the transport session.
🔺 Research on Remote Attestation From the Web Browser
We've also explored web support. Our goal is to create a client library to connect CVM via web, providing greater flexibility and accessibility for developers.
🔺 Employing ZombieNet for E2E Network Testing
We've checked changes on ZombieNet, a framework for Substrate-based blockchains, valuable for testing Substrate when multiple nodes are launched locally. For more details, you can refer to the Humanode GitHub.
🔺 BotBasher Enhancements
Our team is actively working on enhancements for BotBasher. We're currently developing a system to refresh tokens for users in the next generations. Additionally, we're working on features such as displaying Discord usernames after facial scanning and implementing a ticket system for improved communication between the team and the community.
🔺 Mainnet Website Localization
Our efforts to localize the mainnet website are progressing well, contributing to significant strides in global outreach. We've initiated the translation of website content into different languages and have engaged translators to support this initiative.
🎉 As the weekend is upon us, so is the release of the final segment of the Chapter of Yuu, the first story of 2067 - the equilibrium -, the dystopian novel by Humanode Media Lead Shannon Higgins. Inspired by Humanode, Shannon is writing the novel based on ideals that Shannon was inspired by through his work at Humanode, and of a dystopian future that the builders of Humanode would like to avoid. Chapter of Yuu is the first of 10 stories to be included in the book.

Humanode has partnered with Hackless, a robust platform that enhances the security of DeFi protocols, shielding them from hacks and malicious attacks, while also safeguarding individual users' assets from potential loss caused by hackers or scammers.
Hackless has integrated Humanode’s BotBasher into its Discord to prevent Sybil attacks and bots.

Here's what the Humanode dev team has been up to in the past week:
🔺 CVM (Confidential Virtual Machine) Updates
The CVM has undergone updates, including dependency upgrades, assembly corrections, and the installation of Docker and gVisor. Detailed insights are available on Humanode GitHub.
🔺 Exploring CVM Attestation
Our team continues experimental research on CVM attestation. Last week, they developed a Rust utility for attestation, including a web transport server and web transport client. POC complete.
🔺 Research on Nakamoto Coefficient
The team delved into researching the Nakamoto coefficient’s implications on network scenarios. We've identified a tool that allows for simulating the state of the network, including the number and status of its members.
🔺 BotBasher Enhancements
Discussions are ongoing regarding enhancements in BotBasher, including plans to display Discord usernames after facial scanning and implement a ticket system for streamlined communication. Additionally, we're working on a system to refresh tokens for users for the next generation.
🔺 Assert on Balance Invariant
To maintain the integrity of the platform, we wrote an assert on the balance invariants. This ensures that the balance of accounts within our system remains consistent and accurate, thereby enhancing overall security and reliability.
🔺 Mainnet Site Localization
Our proof of concept for localizing the mainnet site is ongoing, marking significant progress in global outreach. We're initiating the translation of website content into different languages, engaging translators to support this initiative.
🔺 Contacting New Biometric Providers
In our commitment to decentralization, we're actively reaching out to biometric providers for collaboration. We aim to integrate more matching and liveness detection solutions to enhance the security of Humanode's biometric infrastructure.

The Humanode Chain now has 531 active validator nodes! This also means that the Nakamoto Coefficient is 177, making the Humanode Network is the No.1 Blockchain network as far as the Nakamoto Coefficient is concerned and can be considered to be the most decentralized.!
The current No.2 is Mina, which has a Nakamoto Coefficient of 124, and No.3 is Polkadot, with 94.
Although this is a moment to celebrate this achievement, we believe that this is only the beginning. Our next target is 1,000 nodes which will give us a Nakamoto Coefficient of 334, and then to 10,000 for a Nakamoto Coefficient of 3334, until we eventually hit millions of nodes globally creating the only true unshakeable decentralized network in the world!

First, the Humanode chain has reached a significant milestone by achieving self-sufficiency, signaling the network’s ability to sustain itself independently. This crucial moment in Humanode’s history is attributed to the rise in HMND price and increased network activity, enabling Humanode to cover 100% of validator node subsidies through transaction and bio-authentication fees.
Moreover, Humanode is expanding its validator pool, increasing subsidized spots from 150 to 1,000, with ambitious plans to eventually reach 10,000 validators. This expansion presents new opportunities for individuals interested in participating as validators, aligning with the project’s goal of becoming the top decentralized network globally. Alongside this expansion, the team has updated validator rewards rules to ensure fairness and proper recognition of validators’ efforts and performance.
On the development front, progress is evident across various aspects of the project. The Substrate has seen updates, with v0.9.43 nearing completion and preparations underway for the transition to Polkadot SDK v1.0. Rigorous testing of Biomapper SDK Mock contracts is ongoing to enhance reliability and integration experiences for developers. Additionally, enhancements in the OAuth 2.0 Service will provide users with real-time insight into online visitor numbers, improving user experience. Progress continues on Biometric Server 2.0 discussions, aiming for enhanced security and functionality of private biometrics. Days after becoming the most decentralized Layer 1 by the Nakamoto Coefficient, Humanode's BioDeFi LP staking, specifically the HMND/USDC liquidity pool on Impossible Finance DEX, has reached over $1,000,000 in Total Value Locked (TVL).
This Sybil-resistant, biometric-based staking model offers Annual Percentage Rates (APR) that range from 50% for whales to as high as 500% for smaller liquidity providers to create a more equitable DeFi ecosystem.

🔺 Blockchain Progress
Our team has been deeply engrossed in Substrate updates. v0.9.42 now features fungibles, and v0.9.43 has been successfully merged and updated. As we gear up for the transition to Polkadot SDK v1.0, we're exploring a new approach to maintaining our forks through patchlists. Detailed insights are available on Humanode GitHub.
🔺Bioauth Events-Related Improvements
Moreover, we've implemented improvements related to bioauth events that enable to distinguish whether a bioauthentication has expired or incurred an offense, such as being offline.
🔺 Exploring CVM Attestation via QUIC
We've embarked on experimental research concerning CVM attestation. Our current focus revolves around investigating the feasibility of attesting connections through QUIC (Quick UDP Internet Connections). With QUIC accessible via JavaScript in web browsers, it opens up exciting possibilities, including the potential utilization of HTTP/3 via web transport.
🔺 OAuth 2.0 Service Counter
We've deployed a new counter tool in our OAuth 2.0 Service. Users can now conveniently view the number of online visitors directly on the interface.
🔺 Tests for Mock Contracts in Biomapper SDK
We completed writing tests for Mock Contracts in Biomapper SDK to ensure robustness and reliability.

It is based on a future that the Humanode team would like to prevent at all costs. Naturally, it is based in a world from the twisted imagination of Shannon Higgins, our Humanode Media Team Lead.
2067 is a series of 10 stories based in the walled city of ShinTokyo, Japan in the year 2067.
The first story is the story of Yuu, a boy raised in the slums of ShinTokyo, and his flight to fight for a better future, in which he hopes he will not be “harvested” by the mega-corporations.
The story is scheduled to be updated once a week, so look forward to the future unfolding every Friday.

The world is about to face another paradigm shift, mankind just doesn’t know it yet.
