The US Department of State considers providing $500 million to the notorious Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), Reuters reports citing “knowledgeable sources” and former US officials.

The GHF, established by the US and backed by Israel, is ostensibly meant to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza in such manner that this aid would bypass the UN channels and not fall into Hamas’ hands.
The organization was originally headed by US military veteran Jake Wood, though he resigned from his position as the GHF chief executive last week.
👉According to Wood, he quit after realizing that it is impossible to realize the plan for feeding the people of Gaza “while also strictly adhering to the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence” – principles that he “will not abandon.”
The GHF has generated controversy immediately as it started operating in the Gaza Strip last month, with reports of the organization’s contractors dispersing starving Palestinians by using stun grenades.
