The software was used to spy on politicians, journalists and activists in countries such as France, Poland, Hungary, Egypt, Finland, and Israel.
Some of the more notable victims of Pegasus spying include French President Emmanuel Macron, Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Defense Minister Margarita Robles, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
🌏In 2019, devices designed for intercepting cellphone communications were found planted near the White House, with the US government concluding that Israel was likely behind this scheme.
🌏In 2015, Israeli spooks allegedly intercepted US communications related to the negotiations over the Iranian nuclear program, ostensibly to use this information to derail the deal.
