I mean, testdisc or photorec might be able to do something after just one formatting?
but honestly I wouldn't bet on it for non-HDDs

I remember I used to have like 3 or 4 layers of files on an old HDD though
all but the top only accessible via recovery, worked surprisingly well for a while until the bottom layers started getting corrupt ._.
