However, something might be...off. Sané’s salary requirements might be too much for Bayern Munich to stomach when other internal moves (Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala) and potential transfers (like Florian Wirtz) are expected to put a big dent into the club’s salary budget: Bayern are currently hesitating when it comes to contract talks with Leroy Sané. The reason is his big salary (up to €20m per year). At least one of the big earning wingers (Sané, Coman, Gnabry) is still expected to leave the club. From now on, the club would only pay salaries in the €20m region to players who consistently deliver top performances and are undisputed starters - which raises the question about Sané from Bayern’s point of view.Aside of Sané’s salary, the German’s performances during his tenure at Bayern Munich might also be giving the club some hesitance. Right now, the winger appears to be heating up, but his time in Bavaria has been defined by his peaks and valleys. If something does not work out, both Arsenal FC and Manchester United could be potential destinations: Bayern want to see consistent performances from Sané. Nevertheless, the people in charge have clearly noticed that Sané now fully identifies with the club and the team and is giving it his all. Last season in spring, he kept going despite his recurring groin problems and played with injections in important games, which cost him at the EUROs, where he wasn’t fully fit and had surgery afterwards Sané himself can well imagine staying at Bayern, but he also does not want to wait until the last moment for clarity over his future since he will be a free agent next summer and is in big demand. Arsenal and Manchester United have him on their list. It still feels like a deal will get done to keep Sané, but that could swing one direction or the other depending on how the next ew months go. It does not seem like Sané wants to let the situation sit until the summer. Kompany, of course, cut his teeth with Hamburger SV, a rival to St. Pauli. “I am now Bayern’s coach. My time in Hamburg was 15, 16 years ago. In my time, St. Pauli was in the second division. I know that the rivalry was always big. Tomorrow, it’s about Bayern, hopefully we can perform and get the result. I still have a lot of friends in Hamburg, for whom it might be important. But for me it’s all about Bayern Munich,” said Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “My time in Hamburg was very important and also very nice. Munich is a great city, and so was Hamburg. I learned a lot during that time; it was my first time I was outside of my hometown. It was a very educational time with Huub Stevens and Thomas Doll.”One thing that Kompany will be looking for is his team to continue to rack up goals in away games. The coach did not think it was anything deliberate, but did acknowledge that his squad has been lighting it up as visitors. “We don’t make much difference between a home and away game. When we get to play in the Allianz Arena, it’s an extra motivation. But we don’t make much difference, our plan doesn’t change. Maybe that’s one reason why we scored so many goals away from home. But that doesn’t mean anything for tomorrow. We’re preparing as usual and hope that things will work out again,” said Kompany. Meanwhile, Kompany is happy that all four of his primary wingers are contributing and playing well and said it still is not too hard to pick out starters on a game-by-game basis. “Things are looking good. It’s important not to have many injuries at this period. I have the feeling that the players are fresh,” said Kompany. “It’s not that difficult at the moment. Quality and talent are always very important, and we are well equipped in this position. When the boys perform as well as they are now, it’s great. Then it’s a question of freshness. We can make changes at the right time. The players have experience and know that they can support and help each other.“Leroy (Sané) has done well. When he’s fit and happy, we all see it on the pitch, like in the last game. As Bayern Munich return to Bundesliga action for one final time before the international break, things are looking up for Vincent Kompany. The team has won four games in a row, conceding zero goals in the process. A victory over St. Pauli would take them into the November international break on a solid run of form, which is better than what it looked like a month ago. Still, there are some challenges the coach needs to tackle. Chief among them is the question of rotation. Team newsHiroki Ito, Josip Stanišić, and Aleksandar Pavlović all continue to work on their comebacks, but Sacha Boey is back and should be available for selection. It’s unknown whether he’s fit enough to start from the very beginning, but Kompany will surely consider the Frenchman if he’s far along in recovery. Speaking of the lineup, the coach might want to think of rotation in the attack. Harry Kane is starting for sure, as is Jamal Musiala. Michael Olise, however, might be rested in favor of Leroy Sané. Serge Gnabry got called up for international duty this week, so he may also get a rest while Kingsley Coman starts on the left. In midfield, João Palhinha and Joshua Kimmich remain settled starters, while the defense is unlikely to change much. Raphaël Guerreiro may return to the starting XI in place of Konrad Laimer (or maybe Sacha Boey could start?) but that’s it in terms of potential changes. Former Bayern Munich player Mitchell Weiser has been waiting on his national team debut for a while. As a German citizen, Weiser has represented Germany at every youth level, complete with winning Germany’s U-21s the U-21 European Championship in 2017. It seemed as if Weiser was a natural candidate for the senior Germany team when he was young, but a senior cap never materialized.But Weiser’s international hopes are not dead. It was recently confirmed that the Werder Bremen player’s maternal grandmother makes him eligible to line up for Algeria. With the requisite paperwork to represent Algeria completed after October international break, November’s fixtures against Equatorial Guinea and Liberia were earmarked as the matches for Weiser’s long-awaited national team debut. Werder Bremen even received an invitation from Algeria to join the national team in November. And yet, Weiser has been left out of the Algerian national team squad. How did this happen? Bremen’s head of football explains why the invite did not lead to a nomination, as captured by Florian Plettenberg: “We had received an invitation from the association for him, which led us to believe it was the final nomination. Apparently, it was only the preliminary squad.“It is a farcical situation, made up of terrible communication and broken dreams. Poor Weiser must now contend himself with staying at home yet again during an international break. Still, he made it a lot closer to a senior international call up than he ever had before in his life. Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović saw his season interrupted by a broken collarbone, but that has not deterred the youngster. Pavlović is already back and working with the ball. While it is safe to say, that the 20-year-old will not be engaging in contract drill any time soon, he appears to be way ahead of schedule in just getting back out onto the training pitch. FCBayern.com provided this update on the midfielder: Aleksandar Pavlović trained with the ball again on Friday as he continues to step up his recovery. The 20-year-old FC Bayern midfielder broke his collarbone in the Bundesliga match against VfB Stuttgart last month and subsequently underwent successful surgery.

Halloween has come and gone, and holiday season has just started. More importantly, for Germans and beer lovers worldwide, Oktoberfest was a month back, which means the next Oktoberfest is around ten months away. Quite a long time to wait. But that hasn’t stopped Adidas from starting their preparations for next year’s Wiesn super early. As has been the case for the past four seasons, Bayern Munich will be releasing a special Oktoberfest kit next year as well, and while specific designs are naturally yet to be seen, the kit’s main color has been revealed.The main color of Bayern's Oktoberfest kit for next season will be light beige [@Footy_Headlines] pic.twitter.com/O5NtLhGD40— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) November 7, 2024According to the good people at Footy Headlines, the next Oktoberfest kit will be a light beige, or cream, whichever you want to call it. The colors of the accents (adidas stripes, logo, etc.) are not yet known, but Footy Headlines are predicting that they will be black. Light beige is a color not so foreign to Bayern fans, since it is the main color of the current season’s third kit. In fact, this season’s Oktoberfest kit was just a palette swap of the third kit to gray. With that in mind, perhaps expecting a similar iteration of the current third kit for the next Wiesn kit isn’t too far-fetched. The third kit seems to be the most popular one of all the 2024/25 kits Bayern has released so far, so it would not be a bad idea to take inspiration from it. So far, Bayern’s Oktoberfest kits have mostly been hits, with the exception of the hideous bile green one last season. It remains to be seen if the next one will be as good as its predecessors. Despite a lack of minutes under Thomas Tuchel for Bayern Munich last season, Leon Goretzka made the decision to stay with the Rekordmeister during the summer transfer window, even though there were opportunities to leave. For both Tuchel and new manager Vincent Kompany, the starting preference for the double midfield pivot is Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović, though Portuguese international João Palhinha has been deputizing in place of the injured Pavlović, who is expected to be out until the start of 2025.For Goretzka so far this season, he has made a total of eight appearances across all competitions, clocking a total of 134 minutes of play. He has yet to make a start for Bayern, and his longest shift came in a 32 minute appearances in the recent 4-0 win over Mainz in the DFB-Pokal, a match that Bayern had already been leading 4-0 by the time the halftime whistle blew. On that occasion, it was really more about Kompany preserving as many of his starters as he could ahead of the Union Berlin match in the Bundesliga just a few short days after.Per information from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg (via @iMiaSanMia), Manchester United is one of the clubs showing concrete interest in trying to sign Goretzka during the winter transfer window, and this is not the first time they have expressed such interest. The club just recently announced the appointment of Erik Ten Hag’s successor in the form of former Sporting Lisbon manager Rubin Amorim and they are in the market for a central midfielder. They have been monitoring Goretzka’s situation at Bayern, knowing full well that he is getting far less time than he would like to be under Kompany and they would also know that his contract with the club is set to run through June 2026. Approaching the final year on his contract, United will know that Bayern is in a crucial period with deciding on Goretzka’s future, having already making it known to him the door was open to leave during last summer’s transfer window.Plettenberg also reports that, at this current juncture, Goretzka does not have any plans to leave Bayern during the winter transfer window even though there is some interest from abroad. As was the case during the summer transfer period, he is willing to stay with Bayern and fight for his place in the team, but at some point the club will have to make some sort of overriding decision if as he gets closer to the end of his contract.
