FC St. Pauli 1910 v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by Sebastian El-Saqqa - firo sportphoto/Getty Images The boys are off... While so many players are out putting in work for their international teams, Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany opted to give anyone not headed off for duty with their country the week off. Surely, some will hit the training grounds for individual work, but there will not be any team sessions: Vincent Kompany gave the non-international players all week off. There won’t be training at Säbener Straße until Sunday - which didn’t happen under many of Kompany’s predecessors during international breaks. The Belgian coach continues to think from a player’s perspective and wants to give his players a few days to breathe as there aren’t many opportunities in the tight schedule. The boys could probably use the time to rest and recover and just have time where they can work on their own individual progress without being in a team environment. Or...they will hit Mallorca, there is probably no in-between. SC Freiburg v FC Bayern München - Google Pixel Frauen Bundesliga Photo by Daniela Porcelli/Getty Images for DFB After a tough few games, the Bavarians are back in UEFA Women’s Champions League action! Bayern Munich is right back at it in the UEFA Women’s Champions League against Norway Toppserien side Vålerenga. The FC Bayern Frauen have not had it easy of late. After dropping points the Bavarians are now second in the Frauen-Bundesliga table behind VfL Wolfsburg, and mounting injuries and fatigue threaten to derail the brilliant run of results the team had earned in the early going of this season. Now it is a chance to recoup and go again. The Bavarians are a perfect 2-0 in a UWCL group that includes both Arsenal FC and Juventus. Can the Frauen make it a clean sweep of their group rivals? It’s Bayern time. Soccer - Bundesliga - FC Bayern Munich vs. TSG Hoffenheim Photo by sampics/Corbis via Getty Images Bayern fans are NOT pleased at all with UEFA’s pricing for the match that is neutrally being held in Gelsenkirchen. Bayern Munich’s Champions League match against Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk scheduled for the December is set to be hosted at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, also known as the home to Schalke 04. The conflict in Ukraine and Russia is the reason why UEFA has to hold the tie on neutral grounds, but it is not a far trip for a lot of Bayern fans to make to attend the affair. However, there have recently been large scale boycotts for tickets to the December 10th matchup from Bayern fans due to UEFA’s seat pricing for an event that is an incredibly close away day for most Bayern supporters. The Bayern supporters group known as Südkurve München had called for a ticket boycott to the match this past weekend. Their message was clear; “Boycott Donetsk away game! Cancel your tickets! Bayern fans, don’t let yourselves be fooled and boycott the away game at Shakhtar Donetsk,” it read (per Bild). There was a deadline for midday Monday, November 4th to have placed the ticket orders for the match, but the supporter’s group message spurred on the mass withdrawal of ticket orders from Bayern supporters due to UEFA’s pricing. For that particular match in Gelsenkirchen, they jacked up the price per ticket to 105 euros per seat, which is a steep rise from the 28 euros they charged per ticket when Donetsk took on Atalanta earlier on in the competition. SV Werder Bremen v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by Jürgen Fromme - firo sportphoto/Getty Images On the surface, it does seem a bit like a money grab from UEFA, which is an organization that does not really do itself any favors with its actions in trying to stray away from that sentiment, but they probably felt the number of Bayern fans in the venue would be very high due to Gelsenkirchen’s proximity to Bavaria. They might not have taken into consideration that it is a much pricier journey for fans from Bergamo, Italy a la Atalanta to get to the Veltins Arena than it would be for most Bayern fans, but Südkurve München does not have time for any of the semantics that UEFA could potentially use as an excuse.Plain and simple, UEFA’s pricing is going to heavily impact attendance at the match for a supporter's group that is heavily involved in socio-political, humanitarian relief, and human rights advocacy efforts for a team than cannot play in its currently-war-torn country. The optics of this for UEFA are not great, but that likely will not stop them from lining their pockets where they see fit. New York Giants v Carolina Panthers Photo by Mario Hommes/DeFodi Images via Getty Images Taking a mulligan... Well, it’s over. The NFL invaded Germany and had the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants (two of the worst teams in the league) play a game on the hallowed grounds of Bayern Munich — the Allianz Arena. If you saw the game, you might have noticed that the field was being torn apart, which could have triggered you to wonder, “How will Bayern Munich ever play on this turf again?”The answer: It won’t. Per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), the NFL is replacing the grass with a new, hybrid system, while the old pitch will go over to the Bayern Munich youth teams: Allianz Arena will get a new pitch after yesterday's NFL game in time for Augsburg after the international break. Work began in the stadium this morning. The new pitch will be hybrid, unlike in 2022 where the players complained about natural grass. Work began in the stadium this morning. The new pitch will be hybrid, unlike in 2022 where the players complained about natural grass. The old pitch will continue to be used and was transported to the youth campus.Anyone who saw the mess game, could tell that the turf was being destroyed in real-time. Many folks in the Bavarian Grass Works community immediately sought refuge not just from the horrid showing by both teams, but from watching the beloved grass get massacred. Regardless, the dawn of a new grass era is upon us. It appears that the former Wolfsburg groundskeeper, who was supposed to revive the pitch at the Allianz Arena is getting a new lease on life. Will he take advantage of it or will he end up looking like just another turf-totaling grasshat?Only time will tell in the tenuous world of grass maintenance. FC Bayern Munich Training Session Photo by F. Noever/FC Bayern via Getty Images International break again, really? Just like that, another international break has decided to squeeze itself into club football’s schedule. This is greatly beneficial to players out injured, not so much for the starting players and Kylian Mbappé. In the case of Bayern Munich, coach Vincent Kompany gave everyone who stayed at Sabener Straße the day off, but three players decided to put in an extra shift:Sacha Boey and Aleksandar Pavlović both did individual sessions with the ball in the morning, while Josip Stanišić did laps around the training ground. All three have been sidelined of late with injury but are edging closer to returning to the fold.– Taken from Bayern’s official websitePavlović’s injury was the one that impacted the team the most as its performance faltered, while Boey’s and Stanišić’s left the Bavarians without defensive options. Good thing that the defense is starting to hold up against teams.

Poland v Germany - UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2025 Qualifier Photo by Adam Nurkiewicz/Getty Images What did the German coach have to say about Wanner skipping on the call-up? Julian Nagelsmann and Bayern Munich loanee Paul Wanner seem to share the same sentiment about player development and patience. It is clear that Paul Wanner sees a future with both Austria and Germany, but needs to decide eventually. Wanner officially declined a senior call-up to Germany for the first time, and has declined Austria’s call several times.Julian Nagelsmann seemed more than understanding about the wonderkid’s decision. The coach seemed disappointed but accepting of the dual-national’s decision.“He wouldn’t have been able to make a big impression now anyway. He’s under 23 - you need more than just two games. Of course I would have been happy if he were here: that’s why we wanted to call him up,” Julian Nagelsmann stated (as captured by iMiaSanMia). Nagelsmann does not yet seem stressed about Wanner’s absence but knows it’ll only get harder to ignore as the player develops. In the end, Nagelsmann wants Wanner to decide Germany for the right reasons. “I’m not worried because I think it’s a personal decision which country he wants to play for. I don’t want a player to decide because he thinks he has a better chance of playing time for one nation. That’s completely the wrong approach because it’s about the heart,” added Nagelsmann. It is clear that Nagelsmann has Wanner on the horizon for the FIFA World Cup in 2026, but is in no rush to make him a leading contributor. Nagelsmann believes the fact he is a dual-national is creating additional hype, and that Wanner wouldn’t otherwise be getting so much attention. Both parties will surely make a decision at some point in 2025 for what is best.Looking for some chatter on where Bayern Munich stands at the moment, how Jamal Musiala might be close to taking “the leap”, and our thoughts on the latest German national team call-ups? FC Bayern München Press Conference For Public Charging Park For Commercial Vehicles At Allianz Arena Photo by S. Mellar/FC Bayern via Getty Images The big boss is hanging around... Per an announcement via FCBayern.com, Bayern Munich has extended the contract of CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen: FC Bayern is committed to continuity in its top management and is extending the successful collaboration with Jan-Christian Dreesen, 57, as CEO by two further years until 30 June 2027. The supervisory board of FC Bayern München AG unanimously passed a motion to this effect at its regular meeting today. Both Dreesen and team president Herbert Hainer issued statements on the contract extension: Hainer: “Jan-Christian Dreesen took over as CEO in a difficult time and led FC Bayern München AG back into calmer waters in a short space of time. We want to continue on this path together. We are certain that he is the right person to tackle the upcoming challenges together with his fellow board members Michael Diederich and Max Eberl and to achieve FC Bayern’s ambitious goals.”Dreesen: “I would like to thank the supervisory board for the trust they have placed in me and look forward to continuing to work with them. FC Bayern has always been a matter close to my heart. Together with my colleagues on the executive board and all employees, I would like to make my contribution to ensuring that FC Bayern remains what it is, which is one of the absolute top clubs in Europe in terms of sport and business, with a great Bavarian tradition and the highest national and international standards.”With that piece of business all secured, the club can now focus on its roster, where there will surely be a lot of discussion on contract matters.
