🥊 #TRUMP US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing tariffs on imports from Canada, China, and Mexico
China will face a 10% tariff, while Mexico will be subject to a 25% tariff. For Canada, energy resources will be taxed at 10%, and all other imports at 25%. If these countries retaliate, the US has warned that tariffs will be increased further.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced retaliatory tariffs of 25% on US goods worth $155 billion and did not rule out additional measures.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has directed officials to respond to the US decision, stating that Mexico’s countermeasures will include both tariff and non-tariff actions. Meanwhile, China plans to appeal to the World Trade Organization (WTO). #macro
