Teaching Skil

Part 2

But if you wish I can lend you my axe and we both will teach you how to cut firewood. Then you can sell it and hope that at end of day you will have enough money to buy yourself enough food.

This way you can learn to earn a livelihood with dignity and hopefully never have to beg again.”

Beggar felt little disappointed but still joined them. Patiently Sahil taught him how to cut firewood and helped him. At end of day they went to market.

At first beggar had no success in selling those woods and began to get little angry saying, “It would have been much simpler if they had just share little food with me.”

While he was thinking a carriage pulled up before him. A person came down and purchased whole bunch of woods from him. Beggar was delighted and he proudly went to woodcutters to show them his earning.

Sahil took him to Axe shop and purchased him a brand new axe with a part of money earned by him. Beggar was happy. He thanked them and headed to an inn to buy some food.

After beggar left Sahil told Rohit, “Had you given the beggar some food, he would have eaten it quickly and would have been again hungry tonight.

By teaching him how to start his own trade in firewood, we have both taught him a skill, which will last him a lifetime. Now he will never go hungry again.”

That’s why I asked you not to speak about it in front of my son.

It’s question of his health. We heard that in towns people use horses to pull water from well. There are machines also to do that..

But if I use horses or machine now to then what will he do?? What effect will it have on my son’s health.. If he saved from all the doing all the hard work now then how will he be able to maintain his health..?”

Part 1

There was a lake at the outskirts of a small village. Two swans and a turtle who were good friends lived in the lake. They would play with each other and pass time telling stories.

One year, there were no rains and the lake started drying up.

"The lake is almost dry. We have to find some other place to live," said the turtle to the swans. "We will fly around and look for a suitable place," said the swans. Both the swans flew in different directions in search of a better place to live. A little distance away, one of the swans spotted a large lake. It had plenty of water and there were many fishes in it. He flew back to tell the others.

The three of them were very excited with the find. "Wow! Now we won't have any problem," said the turtle.

Two Swans and the Turtle

"The two of us can fly there in no time. But you crawl very slowly. And it is some distance away. You will never reach there."

The turtle thought for some time. Suddenly his face lit up. "I have an idea," he said. "You bring me a stick. I will hold the center of the stick in my mouth. Both of you can hold the stick on either side. That way you can fly me with you to our new home."

"It is a very good idea, but you have to make sure you do not open your mouth for any reason. If you do, you will fall to your death," warned one of the swans.

The turtle agreed.

"Remember what we told you," reminded the swans as they got ready to fly. Soon they were flying high in the sky. They had to fly over the village to get to the lake. As they flew over the village, people ran out into the streets to look at this amazing sight.

"What clever birds. They are carrying a turtle on a stick!" exclaimed one man. Every one was excited to see such an amazing sight.

"It was my idea. I am the clever one. I need to let them know," thought the turtle. He opened his mouth to explain, but before the foolish turtle could say anything, he fell with a thud and died.

What the Eagle did not know was that the tiny Sparrow had been flying under his wing. The moment he stopped, Sparrow darted out.

He flew just above the Eagle’s head and cried out, “No, no, no Mr Eagle. I am king of the birds. Look, I have flown higher than you.”

This was repeated several times.

He was so thrilled with the news that he rushed to nearest phone and shared this excitement with his father and told him that he had sent him season tickets fro all college games.

Young boy was persistent and even in college he never missed a practice but still never got to play in game.

It was end of his senior football season and he was on field for practice before big play off game. Just then he received a telegram. After reading telegram young boy became silent and mumbled to coach,”My father died this morning.. Will it be alright if i miss today’s practice?”

Coach gently consoled him and said, “Take rest of week off and you don’t even have to come back for game on Saturday..” and young man left.

Saturday arrived. Game was not going well and in third quarter team was ten points behind. Young boy silently came to locker room and put on his football gear. As he ran onto the sidelines, the coach and his players were astounded to see their faithful team-mate back so soon.

Young boy went to coach and said, “Coach please let me play today..!! I have to play today..”

Coach pretended not to listen to him as he didn’t want to take risk in play off game but young man persisted and at last coach agreed and said, “Alright..!! You can go in.”

When young boy started playing opposing team couldn’t stop him and he played like a star and his team began to triumph. Before long everyone who knew him couldn’t believe their eyes as he had never play in any game before.

In closing seconds of game, Young boy ran all the way for winning touch down. His team won the game and his team mates hoisted him onto his shoulders.

Father Son Conversation

Part 2

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy’s questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think, “May be there was something he really needed to buy with that Rs. 300 and he really didn’t ask for money very often!” The man went to the door of little boy’s room and opened the door. “Are you a sleep, son?” He asked. “No daddy, I’m awake,” replied the boy. “I’ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier”, said the man. “It’s been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you, Here’s the Rs.300 you asked for”.

The little boy sat straight up, smiling “oh thank you dad!” He yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled some crippled up notes. The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, then looked up at his father.

“Why do you want money if you already had some?” the father grumbled. “Because I didn’t have enough, but now I do,” the little boy replied. “Daddy I have Rs. 500 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you”. Father was dumbstruck.

Moral: 👓It’s just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life! Ways to Cut Down Weight

Joy was fed up of his increasing weight. All the time he kept thinking of the ways to reduce his weight.

One day he went to a shopkeeper and said, "I have come to know about a book that tells how to reduce weight. Please give me a copy of that book."

The shopkeeper said, "Sir, the last copy of that book got sold just a few minutes back. But I have another book that tells how to gain weight."

Joy said, "I don't need that. I want to reduce weight, not increase it."

The shopkeeper replied, " So what? Just do the reverse of what is written in the book."😂😂

Health is Wealth

Part 2

One fine morning, a holy man visited the country. He heard about the ill-health of the king, and informed the minister at the palace that he could easily cure the king. Hearing these promising words, the minister became very happy. He requested the king to meet the holy man to get rid of his problem.

The holy man resided at a distant place. Since the king could not move his body, he asked the minister to bring the holy man to the palace, but the holy man refused. He said that the king had to go to him, in order to get cured.

After strenuous efforts, the king met the holy man at the latter's residence. The holy man complimented the king saying that he was a good ruler, and said that he would soon regain his health. He asked the king to come for treatment the next day. He told the king also that the king would be treated only if he came on foot to the holy man's residence.

The King was unable to walk even a few steps on the road, but aided by his followers, he reached the holy man's place. Unfortunately, the holy man was not available there and his devotee requested the king to come and meet him the next day for treatment.

This was repeated for two weeks and the king never met the holy man, and never had any treatment.

Gradually, the king realized that he felt a lot lighter, lost a considerable amount of weight and felt more active than before. He realized the reason why the holy man asked him to reach his place by walking.

Very soon, the king regained his health, and the people were very happy in his kingdom.

The Three Cows

Part 2

However, the cows were too clever to separate from each other. They knew that if they were together, no predator could attack them. The lion lay in ambush nearby for two or three days. But the cows continued to remain together, and wouldn't separate from each other. The lion became impatient. It thought of a plan. It went towards the cows, greeted them and said, "How are you my friends? Are you fine? I have been busy lately, so could not come and visit you. Today I made up my mind to pay you a visit."

The reddish-brown cow said, "Sir, your coming has really pleased us and brightened our pasture."

Both the white and the black cows were troubled by what their friend, the reddish-brown cow said, and were grieved at its thoughtlessness. They said to each other, "Why does the reddish-brown cow believe what the lion says?

Doesn't it know that lions seek other animals only to prey on them?"

As the days passed by, the reddish-brown cow became more and more attached to the lion. The black cow and the white cow advised it against a friendship with the lion, but their efforts were in vain.

One day, the lion said to the reddish-brown cow, "You know that the color of our bodies is dark and that the color of the body of the white cow is light. You also know that light color is the opposite of the dark color. It will be very good if I eat the white cow, so that there will be no difference among us any longer and we will be able to live together well."

The reddish-brown cow accepted the lion's argument and started talking to the black cow to keep it busy, so that the lion could eat the white cow. The white cow was left alone and was killed, while the black and the reddish-brown cows were busy in idle talk.

Two or three days passed since the lion devoured the white cow. It became hungry again. It called the reddish-brown cow. The cow answered: "Yes sir!"

The lion said, "The color of my body and the color of your body are both reddish-brown, and black does not go with our color. It will be very good if I eat the black cow, so that in this forest we all will be of the same color." The reddish-brown cow accepted this argument and moved away from the black cow.

The lion attacked and devoured the black cow soon. And as for the reddish-brown cow, it was so filled with joy that it didn't know what to do. It roamed and grazed and said to itself, "It is only me who has the color of the lion."

A few days passed later, the lion was hungry again. It roared and said, "O the reddish-brown cow! Where are you?" The reddish-brown cow, shaking with fear, went forward and said, "Yes sir!"

The lion said: "Today it is your turn. Get yourself ready, I am going to eat you."

The reddish-brown cow, with great fear and horror, said, "Why sir, I am your friend. I did whatever you asked me to do. Still why do you want to eat me?"

The lion roared and said, "I have no friends. How is it possible that a lion makes friendship with a cow?"

No matter how much the reddish-brown cow begged and entreated, the lion didn't accept its words. Finally the cow said, "Mr. Lion, please allow me to cry out three times before you eat me."

The lion said, "Ok. Quickly, quickly!"

The reddish-brown cow cried out, "I was eaten the very day the white cow was eaten. I was eaten the very day the black cow was eaten. I was eaten the very day I made friends with the lion."

The lion devoured the reddish-brown cow very quickly. Then it said to itself: "I have finished my job in this forest. Now I had better go to other forests."
