🙄 What is “hyphen”?
Here it is: -
Let's look at the following sentences:
I saw a man-eating alligator.
I saw a man eating alligator.
✔️The first sentence contains a compound adjective.
➖The second sentence doesn't.
However these two sentences are very different as can be seen in the picture below
🤓A compound noun is a noun that is made with two or more words.
A compound noun is usually noun + noun or adjective + noun, but there are other combinations.

- I used to … yes … like most young people I was a bit of a slave to fashion and I’d always have to buy that must-have shirt or pair of shoes … I’m not so bothered now though … I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing something old fashioned but I’m not as bothered as I used to be about what I wear …
