Just get the tungsten keeper and keep it hidden.
Scattering it seems like a lot of opportunities to lose access.
Except having all 24 words and not the order still leaves a ridiculous number of permutations to try

What matt said.
The market for creative physical seed phrase storage should be bigger. I see some great ideas and gadgets come by every so often. Saw someone selling laser imprinted washers earlier today for seed phrase storage.
Читать полностью…Yes they can. People are pretty stupid. That said usually not the same people phishing seed phrases are phishing a site.
Читать полностью…Both of those are human issues. Developers that don't salt or at least hash the passwords they store in 2024 should get an itch between their toes until they do.
Password managers are legit getting good though, also in regards of re-used passwords. Nordpass gives me notifications if I re-use one and keeps nagging me to change it until I do. It does the same for "old" passwords (unchanged for 90 days). I've even got my very tech-unsavvy wife to use it.
I like it from a technological perspective, but it's one of those things that solve a non-existent problem for me. There's no direct issue with good ol' username + password authentication, password managers (such as Nordpass which I use) have gotten pretty good and I generate a lengthy, unicoded +40 character password for every different website. In terms of security, usernames and password are rarely the problem, 99% of the "hacks" and security issues are people getting phished or installing malware that steals information from them.
And again, as a developer I'd need to integrate it in my own software which costs me valuable time that is, as far as I'm concerned, not worth it given the tiny amount of people actually using it. Especially in the niche and for the target audience I'm building for.
Digi-ID was a great idea. Unfortunetly google, and apple have developed pass keys which though not anonymous like Digi-ID are just as secure and more convient for most. As a result we are not likely to see adoption outside the crypto currency eco system
That said when combined with NFTs it does have some useful features that passkeys don't.
Good luck with finding a developer willing to collaborate with let alone work for you with that attitude. 👋 In the meantime, get off my back, stop spouting nonsense in here and let the grownups talk in a constructive matter.

Читать полностью…I'd hide and use them all over the house and property, good luck finding 'em let alone the right combo. Sounds like a fun game of hide and seek.
Читать полностью…For washers they could just send you a bag with all 2048 words x4
I personally just bought a metal punch set was like $20 on amazon
(which in hindsight is fishy since you'd need to tell the manufacturer your seed phrase in order for them to engrave/imprint it, lol)
Читать полностью…The whole reason username and passwords needs to go is humans. Both DigiID and Passkey where designed to fix. I am not telling you to implement DigiID but you should as a web developer in 2024 implement Passkey. Passkey takes the human risks on both sides out of the equation and are painless to the user since it's built in to there os
Читать полностью…Username+passwords is broken for 2 main reasons
1) many smaller web sites and occasionally big ones implement poorly in the back end. Do you salt and hash the passwords when you store them. Surprisingly a lot don't.
2) humans get lazy and reuse passwords or can be tricked in to entering them in to a look alike site
Passkey and digi-id fix these problems. You can't phish digi-id or Passkey because the systems provide a different answer each time and the value will be wrong if you try to make a look alike site.
There are demo code available for the popular back ends. The issue for digi-id is every new browser and os has pass keys built in
This, people go online for information and functionality, not spiffy graphics. Wikipedia being a very obvious example. A slick UI/UX complements a system, it doesn't define it. I'm still in the process of adding some semi-vital and in-demand features to DGB Commerce, marketing and look & feel come after that. That having said, design never has been my strong point but in case of DGB Commerce, it's good enough to be intuitive and good enough to function. Heavily leaning on (Angular) Material which is pretty much a no-brainer for the most part.
Читать полностью…For the record a visually attractive non functional UI is absolutely useless. No one cares.
What is helpful is when you put the code behind it, and make it actually work.
For everyone reading the discussion on Digi-ID but might not know what it is here is a medium article that gives a good description of what it is and what it does.

Don't be so sure not knowing my background and commercial experience working as UI/UX designer for the past. I want to be a dick specifically to you beause you seem like a cunt. Goodbye.
Читать полностью…Good for you. You need to focus on that side now because your platform isn't too attractice visually. But I guess you can't afford to pay a designer so it will stay like this for a while. Meanwhile there will be few who can create visually pleasing UIs willing to work for free but not available for your project because you are a control freak and would perhaps want to boss people around telling them what to design even though you have no vision
