🌀Bad Bank
◾️News: RBI Governor has agreed to look at a proposal for creating a Bad Bank.
◾️Key points:
1. Function as a bank but has bad assets to start with.
2. It is an Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC) or an Asset Management Company (AMC).
3. It is not involved in lending and taking deposits.
4. It helps commercial banks clean up their balance sheets and resolve bad loans.
5. US-based Mellon Bank created the first bad bank in 1988.

What is Global Zero?
-> Global Zero is the international movement for the elimination of all nuclear weapons.
-> Its members understand that the only way to eliminate the nuclear threat – including proliferation, nuclear terrorism and humanitarian catastrophe – is to stop the spread of nuclear weapons, secure all nuclear materials and eliminate all nuclear weapons: global zero.
-> The movement combines cutting-edge policy development and direct dialogue with governments with public outreach, including media, online and grassroots initiatives to make the elimination of nuclear weapons an urgent global imperative.

Eco-Sensitive Zone:
-> The Eco-Sensitive Zone has a minimum extent of 100 metres and maximum extent of up to 4 km from the Park boundary.
-> The objective of notifying Eco-Sensitive Zones is to create a buffer as further protection around Protected Areas (PAs) such as National Parks and Wildlife sanctuaries.

🌀Monetary Policy Committee (MPC)
▫️The RBI has a government- constituted Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) which is tasked with framing monetary policy using tools like the Repo Rate, Reverse Repo Rate, Bank Rate, Cash Reserve Ratio.
▫️The MPC is entrusted with the responsibility of deciding the different policy rates including, Marginal Standing Facility, Repo Rate, Reverse Repo Rate, and Liquidity Adjustment Facility.
▪️Composition of MPC
▫️The committee will have six members. Of the six members, the government will nominate three. No government official will be nominated to the MPC.
▫️The other three members would be from the RBI with the governor being the ex-officio chairperson. Deputy governor of RBI in charge of the monetary policy will be a member, as also an executive director of the central bank.
▪️Selection of members
▫️The government nominees to the MPC will be selected by a Search-cum-Selection Committee under Cabinet Secretary with RBI Governor and Economic Affairs Secretary and three experts in the field of economics or banking or finance or monetary policy as its members.
▪️Term of Members
▫️Members of the MPC will be appointed for a period of four years and shall not be eligible for reappointment.
Creeping inflation (1-4%)
🌳When the rate of inflation slowly increases over time.
🌳 For example, the inflation rate rises from 2% to 3%, to 4% a year. Creeping inflation may not be immediately noticeable, but if the creeping rate of inflation continues, it can become an increasing problem.

“Disturbed Area”
◾️Declared by notification under Section 3 of the AFSPA. ◾️An area can be disturbed due to differences or disputes between members of different religious, racial, language or regional groups or castes or communities. ◾️ Central Government or the Governor of the State or administrator of the Union Territory can declare the whole or part of the State or Union Territory as a disturbed area.

1. Nanobacteria:
Nanobacteria are nano-sized in that they are from 20—200 nanometres (run) in size and are the smallest known self-replicating bacteria.
2.Nanoemulsion: Nanoemulsions are a class of extremely small droplets that appear to be transparent or translucent with a bluish colouration. They are usually in the range 50 to 200 nm but much smaller than the range (from 1 to 100 pm) for conventional emulsions.
3.Nanog: Nanog is a key pluripotency regulator critically important in the process of self-renewal of undifferentiated stem cells. It is encoded by the NANOG gene.
4. Nanogels: Nanogels are composed of cross-linked three-dimensional polymer chain networks that are formed via covalent linkages or self-assembly processes.
