According to STRAITS, David Balland, co-founder of the largest cryptocurrency hardware wallet Ledger, was kidnapped with his wife at their home in central France on January 21. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of about 10 million euros in cryptocurrency. To put pressure on them, the kidnappers cut off one of Balland's fingers and sent the video to another co-founder of Ledger.
