📈Market Overview
Strong inflation data has pulled Bitcoin and select altcoins below their immediate support levels, signaling a few days of corrective action. A drop in the cryptocurrency markets may start a discussion that the rally in January may have been a bull trap. However, the price action in Bitcoin and several altcoins shows that a bottoming formation may have begun. The next dip may form a higher low before attempting a move higher.

📈Market Overview
Bitcoin 16% price gain between Feb. 13 and Feb. 16 practically extinguished the bears' expectation for a monthly options expiry below $21,500. As a result of the abrupt rally, these bearish bets are unlikely to pay off, especially since the expiry occurs on Feb. 24. However, bulls were not counting on the strong price rejection at $25,200 on Feb. 21, and this reduces their odds of securing a $480 million profit in this month’s BTC options expiry.

Venture capitalists are continuing to focus on early-stage funding rounds, with a combined total of $622M USD raised in Q4 for pre-seed and seed rounds. On the other hand, later-stage rounds like Series A, B, C, and D tend to have fewer successful projects and bigger total capital raised. However, as the crypto market expands and higher-quality projects emerge, we may see a shift towards more funding in post-seed rounds.

⚡️Arbitrum Surpasses Ethereum Mainnet in Daily Transactions: Sets Record High
Arbitrum saw a record high of 1.10M transactions on February 21, surpassing Ethereum mainnet by 1.08M transactions. In comparison, Optimism had around 180,000.
One possibility is that more users are turning to layer-2 solutions like Arbitrum to avoid high gas fees and network congestion on Ethereum mainnet. Another factor could be the growing popularity of DeFi applications, which are known for their high transaction volume.
