It just opens so much doors, also makes integration in changelly, changenow etc so much easier, beside bringing easy liquidity to the chain and open the doors for devs.
It may be that there are some competition issues with the future PoD rollout cross-chain, but i am not aware of any.
Would be nice if one could setup a cross chain privacy token with cct/ccip, but i am not sure thats even possible from a tech pov.

From my understanding, Midnight mainly focuses on ZK-based privacy, while COTI uses Garbled Circuits for confidential computation and offers Privacy-on-Demand across different blockchains. With the addition of Nightfall, COTI is also expanding into ZK-based privacy solutions for institutions.

So I believe their approaches are different but potentially complementary. Correct me if I'm wrong.
