"He was training with us for the last two days. In terms of contract talks or these kind of things, there is not any update."

On Reece James:

"Yes [he's had a scan]. The only thing we can say is that he is getting better day by day. We don't know how many days he needs. He's getting better."

"It's something he has to fight [the mental battle]. It's normal when you get injury in the same muscle, you become a little afraid."

"At the same time you have to think he's a professional, tries to run and play and can get injuries. Unfortunately it's repeating but hopefully we can find a solution soon."

On importance of Conference League:

"First it's a European competition so very important. Since we start we've tried to share minutes with all the squad. In some games we use young players. We'll see. Hopefully we can continue."

On keeping his squad happy:

"Joao Felix played Premier League against Leicester the other day. Christo [Nkunku] will for sure play in the Premier League. The intention is to keep all of them happy, even if it's not possible sometimes."

"It's not the time to think about January, we have many games in December."

"I spoke to Christo [Nkunku] days ago. He didn't say he wasn't happy. He would like to play more games, for sure. The last game against Leicester, Enzo, Felix, Benoit played. For me there is not two squads. The squad is only one. There is proof against Leicester."

On if he wants to keep Christopher Nkunku at Chelsea:

"Absolutely."

"We tried with Joao and Cole together, hopefully soon we can try with Christo and Cole or Joao. I completely want Christo to stay, there is no idea to allow him to go in January."

On Malo Gusto and Pedro Neto:

"I think so [will return against Aston Villa]. Both have trained with us. We don't take a risk for tomorrow but both I think can be available for Sunday's game."

On Reece James injury changing Chelsea's tactics:

"For sure. We are happy to use him, he can help us in a different way. Unfortunately he's not with us. Hopefully we can have him soon. When he played from the start, or the bench, he always helps us."

"I think the best thing we can do as staff and you [the media], along with us. Don't talk too much about Reece. The more we talk the more pressure we put on him."

"More players are like this. The more you ask, the more I answer and the more pressure there is on him. That's it."

"I enjoy every game knowing that in this competition, we are there. We know that we are the big game [for other teams]. The problem for us, the issue can be that if we are not ready mentally and underestimate some teams they can hurt us."

‼️Deivid Washington is set to be loaned out by Chelsea in January. Flamengo is still an option, but Chelsea feel it is better to loan him to Europe.

The player's family also believes that it is good to keep Deivid as close to London so that the attacker does not have to start the adaptation process from scratch.

On Shumaira Mheuka:

"To be honest I've not seen him play many games. In training, he has the ability with the ball at his feet. He's able to score a lot of goals which is an amazing quality in a striker. Hopefully he can do that with us."

On Chelsea having the youngest squad in the Premier League:

"We've got a very young squad. We're pushing and here to compete with everybody in the league. We don't look at our age. We believe we can get the results and performances."

"We've just started with the new manager and are still learning things. There's patience on that end. At the end of the day this is Chelsea, the demands are high. We have to go out every single training session and matchday."
