📼 Nothing drops a retro-styled Phone (3a) Community Edition
Nothing goes full nostalgia with a turquoise transparent back, channeling 80s–90s retro-futurism. Specs stay the same — a single 12+256 GB model, no internal changes.
But the box includes custom Nothing dice, just for the vibe. Price remains $379, but the run is tiny: only 1,000 units.
A phone that looks vintage but runs modern — collector bait unlocked.

😎 Google is quietly building an XR empire
Google just showed what its future XR world looks like — all powered by Android XR, one OS for headsets, glasses, and whatever comes next.
First comes the Samsung Galaxy XR, a $1800 VR headset tied to an external compute puck and deeply fused with Gemini. Then Project Aura, basically the same device in chunky AR-glasses form: same chip, same gestures, same apps. A tethered setup with ~70° FOV — devs love it because one build runs everywhere.
But the star is the AI glasses: almost normal frames, a display in one lens, and your phone doing the heavy lifting. The UI is literally enhanced phone notifications — music controls, Maps arrows, Uber details, Gemini hints. Developers only add a few APIs; no separate AR apps needed. Even iPhone support via Gemini is in.
Privacy? Hardware switch + bright recording indicator. No cheating.
Launch in 2026, with a dual-display 3D prototype planned for 2027.

🤖 The West said Russia would fall behind. Russia replied with a dancing robot
A packed Moscow hall. A dancing anthropomorphic robot moving in perfect sync with a human choreographer. Phones out, clips everywhere. A scene nobody expected to come out of a country the West insists should be “cut off.”
Sber, hosting the 10th anniversary of the conference, rolled out what’s now the largest open-source AI stack in Europe. Full weights, full models, no locked doors. GigaChat Ultra-Preview, Lightning, GigaAM-v3, Kandinsky 5.0, K-VAE 1.0. This is the largest Open Source project in Europe, and Russia is ready to share it.
So how does a country under pressure keep not just walking — but pulling off tricks like that robot on stage?
Maybe constraint forces invention. Either way, Russia isn’t playing the “technological laggard” role the West assigned. Not this year.

🤖 China is making too many humanoids — and now it’s worried
Over 150 companies in China are building humanoid robots, with more popping up every month. Sounds futuristic, but regulators just called it what it is: a potential robotics bubble. Too many look-alike bots, not enough real innovation.
The twist? Humanoids are one of China’s official priority industries through 2030. The robotics index is up 26%, Citigroup expects explosive growth next year, and UBTech boasts 1B+ yuan in orders. The hype machine is running hot.
But real-world adoption? Barely visible. Lots of robots, not much impact. So the government wants to clean up: boost core tech, regulate market entry/exit, and push robots from expo booths into actual workplaces and homes.
Right now it’s less “AI revolution” and more “clone convention.”

🤖 Factory robots retire — and they look like they earned it
Figure AI just “retired” its Figure 02 bots after 11 months on BMW’s production line. They built 30K+ X3s, moved 90Kmetal parts, and now look like battle-worn workers — scratched, dusty, and nothing like showroom prototypes. 💥
Training took months; by month ten they handled 10-hour shifts solo. Precision job: place metal sheets with 5 mm tolerance. One cycle — 84s, sheet placement — 37s, accuracy 99%+. Total: 1250 hours of real labor.
The weak spot? The forearm — too many moving parts, wires, and cooling crammed into human-sized space. Constant motion killed microcontrollers. The new Figure 03 fixes it with direct motor-to-brain wiring and no wrist circuitry.
Turns out robots can grind — they just don’t complain.

🍗 China’s frying chicken in space — seriously
While others snack on canned mush, astronauts aboard Tiangong are grilling New Orleans-style wings in zero-G. Crispy skin, real caramelization — space just got tasty. 🚀
The secret? A space oven brought by Shenzhou-21. With no gravity, fans push hot air like an air fryer. It hits 190°C, cooking wings in 28 minutes — versus two hours for cookies on the ISS.
Filters trap grease, the wings sit in a mesh cage (so they don’t float off mid-bite), and the smell? Probably divine. All that’s missing is hot sauce and celery — then Tiangong becomes the first cosmic KFC. 🌌

🤖 NEO — the “helpful robot,” not the scary one
1X just opened preorders for NEO, a humanoid made to handle chores — cleaning, fetching, door-opening. It’s 168 cm tall, 30 kg light, and can lift 70 kg — basically your polite, buff roommate. 😅
Powered by Tendon Drive, it moves with muscle-like cables, not gears. Brain: Nvidia Jetson Thor with an LLM onboard — it chats, remembers context, and even spots ingredients (“Flour and eggs? Pancake time!”).
Runs 4 hours per charge, docks itself, comes in 3 colors. Price: $20 K or $500/mo.
Looks amazing — but until NEO proves it won’t fold the cat with the laundry, we’ll wait for 2026 before trusting it with chores. 🧺

🎌 292 samurai enter. Only one leaves.
Netflix just dropped the trailer for “Last Samurai Standing” — a full-on samurai battle royale. Late 1800s Japan: 292 warriors, one tag each. Lose it — you’re dead. Steal others, reach Tokyo, survive. It’s Squid Game, but with katanas. ⚔️
The trailer drips with Kyoto temples, moonlit duels, and cinematic chaos — feels like Kurosawa meets Tarantino.
Premieres Nov 13. Looks brutal, beautiful, and bloody — the way bushido never intended. 🩸

The new FSD 14.1.2 update adds a long-awaited Mad Max driving style — Tesla’s most aggressive autopilot yet. Forget “Sloth” (too polite) and “Hurry” (meh) — this one actually moves. ⚡️
It’ll cruise up to 85 mph, cut lanes with confidence, and act like you’re late for your flight — but still follows every traffic law. Think “rushing parent,” not “street racer.”
Bonus: FSD 14 can now pick a parking spot, handle McDrive, and navigate tight city traffic solo. And when 14.2 drops soon, your Tesla will park itself and come pick you up. Basically, your car just became your personal chauffeur — with attitude. 🍟

💻 Apple throws shade at Windows with BSOD roast
Apple dropped a cheeky short film mocking Windows — a nod to the 2024 CrowdStrike meltdown that blue-screened half the world’s PCs, grounding flights and freezing banks. 😬
The ad stars a group of hapless event workers whose show crashes thanks to Windows — until Macs swoop in to save the day. Apple links it to its “security at the core” page, basically saying: our OS doesn’t crash, it judges.
New slogan? “Think stable.” 🧊

HBO Max dropped the trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, premiering Jan 18. Based on George R.R. Martin’s The Hedge Knight, it’s Westeros before all the throne drama — no dragons, no scheming, just one wandering knight, Dunk the Tall, and his squire Egg. 🛡️
Plot twist: Egg’s actually future King Aegon V — granddad of the Mad King himself. So yeah, trouble’s brewing, just slower this time.
Think cozy medieval vibes, smaller stakes, bigger heart. Westeros before it got toxic. 🌾

🤔 US okays Nvidia’s H200 for China — but China’s hesitant.
Trump greenlit H200 exports with a 25% tariff. Huge upgrade over China’s weak H20 — yet Beijing’s been telling firms to avoid US chips after security concerns. Meanwhile, local players like Huawei are ramping up their own silicon.
Congress calls it a risk, experts say: H200 still beats anything China can build, so demand won’t vanish.
And yes — this dropped the same day the DOJ busted a $160M Nvidia smuggling ring. Perfect timing. 😏

🏋️‍♀️ A tiny coach that judges your form harder than humans

🧱 The world’s first console inspired by… concrete fences
Russian design lab “20·50” unveiled a portable console concept modeled after the iconic Soviet PO-2 concrete wall — yes, that wavy gray fence from every factory yard. Now it’s gaming’s new aesthetic. 🎮
Functionally it’s a Switch clone — detachable controllers, tabletop mode, TV dock. But the design screams post-Soviet brutalism: heavy, angular, indestructible.
It actually won Russia’s Best Industrial Design 2025, though it’s still just a concept. Maybe it’ll never launch — but admit it, it looks badass. A console built to survive both boss fights and nuclear winters. ☢️

🔬 Google just built a “quantum microscope” — and it works
Quantum computers finally did something real: Google’s Willow chip can now map molecules with freakish precision. Think sonar blur vs reading the ship’s name on the wreck. 😳
Their new Quantum Echoes algorithm runs 13,000× faster than any supercomputer. It sends a signal into 105 qubits, flips it back, and listens to the echo — but quantum-style, where wave interference amplifies the data.
The results matched classic NMR scans — and even revealed extra atomic details. That means new insights for drug design, battery chemistry, and quantum materials.
Google basically turned noise into knowledge. Quantum just got practical. ⚡️

🤔 Samsung’s Galaxy XR just threw shade at Vision Pro

UI? Basically Vision Pro cosplay — pinch to click, floating windows, 3D scenes. But Samsung’s ace is AI + content: Gemini’s baked into everything. Point Circle-to-Search at a magazine, chat with Maps, or summon Gemini Live mid-YouTube to ask about what you’re seeing.
Oh, and full Google Play support. Unless you bleed Apple, Galaxy XR might just be the smarter buy — lighter, cheaper, and way more fun. 🚀
