I made the assumption @popachubby that the question is really about Holochain, you are right, I could be answering the wrong question.

@nrokapus are you aware of the difference between Holo and Holochain? Holo is meant to support bridging between Holochain apps and Web2. It also can serve as always on nodes for Holochain apps. So in that sense Holo can support DePin projects by being a back up, always on node, for a network of field sensors in a DePin project.

The answer is a qualified “YES.”
Holochain can do all of those things. It is not designed like blockchain so Layer 1/2 doesn’t make sense, and it can operate like a layer one or layer 2. When used as Layer 2, it can enhance Layer 1 blockchains by providing gas free transactions “off chain.” There are some blog posts about that. I believe on the Unyt web site.

Hey @Procivilization We've had a Unyt applet/tool in Moss previously but I'm not sure there is one in the latest version of Moss. Unyt has been moving very very fast so it might be a little while before it has been reintegrated into Moss.

Thanks for the question--we've been doing intensive internal testing as well as rounds of tests with our (great) community test group. Each round has found a few new bugs or small improvements either in the Unyt app or Holochain itself. So lots of quick progress as we get closer still to a wider community test.

I do aware. My point is that this project (whether holo/holochain) is not competing with speed (through TPS) or gas fee like L1/L2 blockchain projects but it's been presented like that on Binance. Public may confuse and may lead to misunderstand and not pay attention on.

As far as DePin goes there are also posts about Holochain for DePin, it can do all that. Again without gas fees. And devices can run as full Holochain DePin nodes on something as small as a Raspberry Pi.
