I would consider setting up an edge node to support with Wind tunnel if you are looking to support the projects.

Why this helps? In a centralized system, adding load is linear. In a gossip-based P2P system (like Holochain), adding nodes increases the complexity of message propagation exponentially. This is a feature, not a bug, but it requires tuning.

By running a Wind Tunnel node, you aren't just "mining"; you are creating necessary turbulence. You are helping us map how data propagates through different hardware types, network topologies, and latencies.

I have to say I agree with this. Given the "Swim Lanes" conversation in summer last year, I got the sense (my fault if incorrect) that there may be utility for the HOT beyond HF. As we near the swap, I think it's really important for HOT holders to understand what's going to happen to HOT after the swap happens.

I also gathered from that guy's videos (sorry, I don't remember your handle) that there MAY be value for HOT as an access point for HF. But those details are sketchy for me at this point. So clarification would be helpful.

From the beginning, HOT was communicated as a temporary IOU token, intended to be swapped 1:1 into HoloFuel once the network and its native economy are live.

My question is therefore straightforward:

Will HOT cease to have any economic role after the swap, or will it continue to be used, held, or monetized by the team in any form?

If HOT were to remain in use or retain economic relevance after the swap, this would effectively represent a second capital utilization based on the same initial supporter base.

To avoid misunderstandings and loss of trust among early supporters, it would be important to clarify:
• Whether HOT will be technically or economically retired after the swap
• Or, if not, what new and clearly distinct role it would serve that does not constitute double capital extraction

If this decision has not yet been finalized, it would also be helpful to state this explicitly. Not knowing yet is preferable to leaving the community in uncertainty.

Given how central this topic is for long-term supporters, this clarification might even be well suited for a dedicated YouTube video, where the rationale, options, and intended direction can be explained transparently.

🚨 Roadmap Alert: 0.6.1 & 0.7 are In Progress

We've updated the roadmap to reflect active development.

Key Detail: We are backporting the massive networking improvements (Iroh-based transport) from the upcoming 0.7 branch directly into 0.6.1.

This means improved peer discovery (startup experience is faster) and connection reliability without needing a breaking app migration. (Note that apps using Iroh won't be able to communicate with apps using WebRTC.) Watch this space for more details on Iroh!
