Coinbase delisting USDT is for nothing but competitive reasons. USDT is bigger than people give it credit for. It runs all futures trading and won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
The only stable coin I lost money on was USDC over the FTX collapse period where it depegged and I panic sold.
But yes, if you want to park your wealth on the safest thing around it's bitcoin

Perhaps even more but the point is that the governance is totally shadowy never had a proper audit of the reserves whatever this may or may not imply for sure it has weathered every storm à la FTX and such, at the moment never depegged in a substantial manner so for business purposes and very short term it is still usable, personally I would never park a substantial amount of money on usdt for more than a day, and in EU It will be soon not treadable because it's not complying with the MiCA regulatory framework atm, only alternative unless changing for fiat currency like a dollar or Euro is USDC atm

USDT attestation (not an audit whatsoever) of the past were issued by minor and irrelevant audit firms, and none of the big four auditors has ever worked for tether, they won't touch them with a long pole, for what an auditor / audit is worth, but, hey, if you're happy with USDT it's super fine !

Till the day it ain't, for any wrong or right reasons like AML violations, para banking unlicensed services, etc, given it's a commodity I'd use USDC any day, and being EU resident soon it will be TINA cuz USDT is not compliant with MiCA regulatory framework, game over till they comply, and lack of audits on reserves is a core gap ATM, see Coinbase delisting of USDT for EU markets

The risk always exist. But tether did undergo countless audits already, but still, the tether fud goes on and on... for the last 10 years.
Not saying I trust them 100%, but from all stablecoins out there, it's certainly the safest of all.
