Why would you think that ADA was 'never meant to drop below its 2018 ATH'?
Most alts are oscillators which means they react to Bitcoin and either outperform during bull phases or underperform during bear phases. This is how most markets work where leaders dictate the rest of the market.
Historically ADA has outperformed BTC only when it moves above prior highs and pushes alts into "risk on' behavior. Alts tend to do the best at the very tail end of a bull cycle.

ADA's entire lifecycle outside the peak of the bull runs has been a natural frequency of pump and dumps.
It was NEVER meant to drop below it's 2018 ATH, yet it did, in a big way. Generally this only happens to 💩h#tcoin💩 that are in the Top 20.
Starting to get the 💩h#t💩 myself with it. Next bull run, I'm out of it permanently. Not waiting another 5 years on the chance it might just recover.
It's development does nothung for price, perhaps because it lacks any reputable adoption other than those wanting to stake.
The way it's going will be lucky to break its previous ATH of $3.10 in the next bull run.
For example, lots of ppl living in places at risk of war converted a significant portion of their assets into crypto, because they can bring those assets with them in case the wars make them refugee......
