Many people in Europe think Trump is crazy.
Many people in the US (democrats) think he is insert-their-description-here.

Trump is not crazy, but he is taking a bold, borderline-desperate move.

People don't understand in which situation the US economy was when he inherited it.

Will he succeed to bring the manufacturing back to the US, maybe, partially. Definitely not fully, and to which measure it remains to be seen.

Tariffs are the best measure to make that happen.

I think he didn't expect such resillience from the China, as China seems to be responding in equal measure.

He did a wonderful move by pausing to all other countries so he has time to make a deal with them, recover markets while he focuses fully on china and doesn't make extra enemies in other countries.

It's a tight race, who will win this economic war, remains to be seen. But he isn't nuts. Nuts was the amount of debt the US accumulated in previous presidencies.
