(1) Michael Saylor, co-founder of U.S.-based business intelligence firm MicroStrategy Inc., is selling 315,000 company shares worth nearly $216 million. Saylor previously said during the company’s third-quarter earnings call of 2023 that he plans to use the funds to purchase more bitcoin personally, as well as to address “financial obligations.”
(2) The Chicago Mercantile Exchange Bitcoin futures traded at $47,040 in the early hours of Jan. 2, $1,600 above the spot markets. Traders are now questioning whether the spike was limited to CME futures and if it signals an impending Bitcoin price rally. The support level is at $44,300, and the resistance level is at $46,200.
