❗️Experts suggest Dezi Freeman may be dead as manhunt for alleged cop killer enters 11th day

There is speculation the 56-year-old may be hiding in a mineshaft hole, one of many dotted across the rugged terrain given the conditions, at times, have been cold and wet with temperatures plummeting to single digits.

Mineshaft experts Christopher Bogusis and Kyle Cranfield both agreed he could be underground as cops and sniffer dogs searched above.

Mr Cranfield flagged the holes provided warmth and protection from the treacherous weather but it can be dangerous for those who don’t understand how they work.

“CO2 (carbon dioxide) will sit and pool in a mine, you may, at the entrance, be fine, you may even walk into it and be fine … but once you go down below a certain level, it will just pool there,” he told The Herald Sun.

“(If) you lie down in there to take a sleep, you are never getting back out, that’s your forever nap.”

He says former high-ranking politicians “hold a very high esteem” in international circles and Andrews will invite questions about his influence in China.

Andrews stirred controversy after posing for a photograph with Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and two dozen other people at the military parade on Wednesday, where China displayed its military might while the rest of the world watched.

The Albanese government has sought to distance itself from Andrews’ decision, reiterating that he attended in a private capacity and not as a representative for Australia.

❗️Further arrests following violent attack on Indigenous site in Melbourne

In news from Melbourne, four more people have been charged over the attack on Indigenous protest site Camp Sovereignty on August 31.

That brings to seven the number of people charged over the incident, when a group of nazis charged up the hill to disrupt the camp, burning an Aboriginal flag and injuring Indigenous activists.

The seven so far arrested, including Sewell, are facing charges related to violent disorder, affray, unlawful assault and discharging missiles.

❗️At the Paris "Coalition of the Willing" meeting, Macron announced that 35 countries are part of the coalition, with 26 pledging to send land, air, and sea forces to Ukraine post-war as a “reassurance force.”

He stressed that Europe’s frontline is in Ukraine and noted that 67% of Kiev’s weapons are domestically produced.

Both Macron and Zelensky confirmed U.S. participation in future security guarantees for Ukraine, with details to be finalized soon. Zelensky also accused Putin of using his China visit to prolong the war.

Macron added that Europe, the U.S., and Ukraine remain open to talks with Russia, though Putin continues to refuse.

❗️Former Victorian premier Daniel Andrews has issued a statement after his controversial appearance beside dictators and autocrats at China's largest military parade.

Mr Andrews was captured in footage shaking hands on the red carpet with Chinese President Xi Jinping before appearing in a photo alongside other world leaders including Russian leader Vladimir Putin, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian.

In a written statement, Mr Andrews has defended his trip.

"We also shared in an official photograph," Mr Andrews said.

"And just so there's no confusion — I have condemned Putin and his illegal war in Ukraine from day one.

"That's why he banned me from Russia last year."
