SCOTUS has been captured: Today's Supreme Court's #Slaughter ruling (6-3) was a frightening development that rewrote nearly a century of legal precedent curtailing executive branch authority. Justice Sonia Sotomayor's dissent was blunt: "Today, this Court undoes centuries of political practice and concludes that all three branches of Government have been acting in open defiance of the Constitution all this time. Its conclusion is wrong." It is beyond time to reform this branch. [Image: REUTERS/Cheney Orr TPX IMAGES OF THE DAY]

Tucker Carlson alleges that Trump privately resents his diminishing Evangelical support, especially concerning abortion. Carlson states, "Trump is mad at Christians for opposing abortion and mentions it a lot, a lot in private. A lot. And he’s — very annoyed by it, and opposition to abortion annoys him a lot. He’s mentioned [it] to me like 30 times." Despite this, Trump publicizes his role in overturning Roe v. Wade; four years later, the Dobbs decision has resulted in numerous avoidable fatalities.

During a heated House interrogation today, unelected director of looting Russ Vought asserted to Rep. Mark Pocan that labeling him a "Christian nationalist" constituted "slander." However, in 2023, Vought himself tweeted: "I'm proud to work with [William Wolfe] on scoping out a sound Christian Nationalism ... is there no room for Christians who are also nationalists to be in an anti-woke coalition?" (Link in threaded tweet.) If his ideology is so widely accepted, righteous, and lawful, why does Russ go to such extremes to conceal its true nature?

Remarkably, amidst this entire confession, Mike Johnson fails to utter even once that the Congressional inquiries he foresees post-midterm losses would be *unjustified*? "Should we — should we lose the midterms, God forbid, these Democrats — believe me, impeachment isn't the primary worry. They'll transform every congressional committee into an investigative unit, targeting the president's family, the cabinet, his benefactors, and associates — half of you present will be scrutinized. I manage the protection detail. I'll ensure your safety. We will prevail. We will win the midterms. Agreed? Understood?" He refrains from labeling it "lawfare," nor does he attempt to assert that the investigations would lack foundation. Johnson never once suggested that "half the attendees" present were undeserving of scrutiny. He's not even attempting to conceal their alleged wrongdoing.

Rep. Thomas Massie highlights a critical issue regarding the recent flood of GOP claims about "rigged elections."
