An Unraveled Love...
“Dry those tears ” I said to her in a soft tone as she tried to hide them. "looks like a mess what’s wrong?"
I knew what was wrong though from the start. There’s no covering up how she flew through the front door and tore through the hall into her room before I could say hi. She had been my roommate for two years and she only did that after a break up. Its happened twice before the same story over and over.
She meets some muscle built guy or a slender partying one and falls in love not with them but their looks and due to that she goes out with them until she catches on to what they really are then they leave for a bunch of one night stands. And the worst part about it is I love her and treat her right but she’s not interested unless a guy has abs. I may not be perfect on the outside but inside lays a heart of gold that if she accepted she would have all of it.
She looked up slightly and finally said “dave left me”, hammer right on the nail I thought to myself, but right now it wasn’t about me. Putting my attention back to the matter at hand I asked her “well do you know why?”
Again a question asked for confirmation, “I walked in from work earlier than usual because of a shift change and thought I would surprise him with a romantic dinner which I had bought some wine for but instead I found him with another girl.”
She burst into tears again. Why does she cry over these guys and how does she not see that a real man has been there all along. I hug her for a minute trying not to let my emotions let her know how I feel because I don’t think she needed anymore complication. We both go to sleep which was most needed and then I woke up and decided to make breakfast and bed for her because maybe she slept off most of it and this would make the pain vanish completely. I went to her room with a breakfast of scrambled eggs just how she liked them and fresh orange juice with some turkey bacon because she didn’t like the regular.
I knocked on the door… No response then I knocked again… still nothing since the door had no lock I reached for the handle to go inside then I heard a raspy noise almost like a cough only it sounded like go away. I opened the door and immediately dropped the tray, for what was making the noise was gruesome, she was gray and propped up on her bed against the backboard in a sitting and slouching position around her strewn across the bed were a couple bottles of painkillers. I rushed to her and tried to talk to her but no response other than that wheezing noises was to far gone.
I still called the paramedics but she would be dead in a matter of seconds they wouldn’t make it quick enough. With tears in my eyes I took her hand it was cold as ice then putting it to my face I said I want to tell you that I’ve always loved you and wanted to be more to you than just a friend. I felt her body shift in pain she had 20 seconds now tops and I could hear the sirens they were close but not close enough she said one word as she pointed to the wall and that was hidden and with that I felt the life go out of her.
I wept and screamed like a madman pleading if there was a god give her back. But it was no use, the pare arrived and she was pronounced dead on the scene. All the while all I could think of was her last words and the ba**ard responsible for what she did. It was hard to focus though on what she meant by hidden and her finger though loose and seeming to just hang from her hand looked like she was pointing in the direction to a painting on the wall.
“I don't care” I said to myself, all I care about is justice for her. That night I went and bought a small revolver to seek my justice and seek it I did I found him in his house and shot both him and his playmate for the night. Then turning the gun to myself I heard sirens. One of the neighbors must’ve called the police. I cocked it and pulled the trigger nothing happened then I remembered before I came in I very quickly with nervous and shaky hands loaded the gun forgetting to put one in the chamber for

Use Hurdles To Your Advantage
I'm 20 and got my flu shot today. The nurse who vaccinated me was also 20 but dropped out of high school when she got pregnant at 16.
There is more than one way to live a fulfilling life.
I'm an 20 year old honors student with a 4.3 GPA and a near perfect SAT, doing my Phd, but I have only held short summer jobs.
She's a 20 year old who had to drop out of high school, but she is already a nurse and studying to get her Bachelor's and RN certification.
She looks mature, confident, and like she has her life together. I am still dependent on my parents, and have the confidence of an awkward middle schooler.
Don't let your hurdles hinder you. Use them to your advantage. Create your own definition of successful, and do what it takes to get there

How is Halloween festival celebrated?
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Buy a new costume each year. ...Carve a pumpkin. ...Celebrate the holiday with friends or family. ...Go trick or treating! ...Look at all the candy that came out of your bag This is the best part of Halloween: checking out the goodies to stuff yourself with.
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Who brought Halloween to America?
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
As for modern Halloween, Santino, writing in "American Folklore: An Encyclopedia" (Garland, 1996), noted that "Halloween beliefs and customs were brought to North America with the earliest Irish immigrants, then by the great waves of Irish immigrants fleeing the famines of the first half of the nineteenth century.
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
What does Halloween come from?
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
The word Halloween or Hallowe'en dates to about 1745 and is of Christian origin. The word "Hallowe'en" means "hallowed evening" or "holy evening". It comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows' Eve (the evening before All Hallows' Day). In Scots, the word "eve" is even, and this is contracted to e'en or een.

One-sided Love...
He was my bestie….the one I could always rely on. My secrets he kept treasured, my childishness he loved and he accepted me for what I was. I was among those who knew his emotional side. Our parents knew our bonds and if one didn’t find me at my house they knew whom I would be with and vice-versa.
We never compromised our friendship with any other thing. I had grown very strong feelings for him which I never understood when they converted into love but I closed all the doors of my heart fearing to lose him forever. We often exchanged ‘I love you’ which never was meant to cross the boundaries of our friendship. He never made me feel uncomfortable or insecure.
He used to say, “Never will our bond of friendship destroy be the cruelest storms hit, I would be by your side forever and for all, that’s my promise……I can’t live without you”.
His each word meant true. I wanted to see him happy….his charm lied there ...in his smile...in his laughter. I knew I loved him….. As our college started we got busy….new life was waiting…new friends, new priorities but nothing affected our friendship. We always took out some time for each other from our schedule for just a chit chat. Then one day he told me about his friend ‘Neha’. He told me how sweet she was and how nice he felt in her company. Soon our conversation was nothing but Neha. Yah! I was hurt in the beginning but soon realized that he was quiet happy with her. People say that in love one just wishes to see other happy be with anyone but in actual a part wants strongly that the one should be ‘me….myself’. I never said a word about my feelings as with time the fear luring inside increased.
One day he simply said, “I can’t live without Neha”.
Those words pierced me like needles…..because once they were meant for me, only me…..suddenly I had lost all my hopes…..my dreams that had him as a part, shattered. When we were in our final year he told me that he proposed her and that she said ‘yes’. The next few moments were purely silent for me….not that he was quiet but I became deaf with the shock…..I locked my tears and congratulated him. Someone has rightly said, “Reward for every true love is not love”.
After our graduation he told me that she wanted to marry him…..I told him I was immensely happy for he had loved the right person who had the courage to take the risk and tell him her wishes. That night I couldn’t sleep, thinking all the time that why couldn’t I have the perfect ending with him? I went through the flashback of our friendship….those wonderful moments that brought smile on my face…..I wondered what if I had conveyed my feelings to him and lost our friendship….maybe I wouldn’t have been left with these memories I could treasure the whole life.
The next day he told me that Neha is leaving and has asked him to reply….she wants him to meet her parents if he is ready to marry her…..he asked me what to do….I knew it was now or never…..also that if he goes there he has to leave me to start an entire new life and if he stays maybe he would regret for his lifetime to lose what he loved….. I looked straight into his eyes and hugged him….for the first time tears rolled down in front of him…..I gave him a peck on his cheek. He was shocked and maybe had finally seen the love in my eyes and asked, “Do you….” But I broke his sentence and whispered in his ear, “GO!” I told him that he would stay a friend forever in my heart. I saw his charming smile for the last time. I let him go to keep his memories treasured forever not only in my heart but in his too without spoiling even a bit.

Because of love
A brother and sister had made their usual hurried, obligatory pre-Christmas visit to the little farm where dwelt their elderly parents with their small herd of horses.
The farm was where they had grown up and had been named "Lone Pine Farm" because of the huge pine, which topped the hill behind the farm. Through the years the tree had become a talisman to the old man and his wife, and a landmark in the countryside.
The young siblings had fond memories of their childhood here, but the city hustle and bustle added more excitement to their lives, and called them away to a different life.
The old folks no longer showed their horses, for the years had taken their toll, and getting out to the barn on those frosty mornings was getting harder, but it gave them a reason to get up in the mornings and a reason to live. They sold a few foals each year, and the horses were their reason for joy in the morning and contentment at day's end.
Angry, as they prepared to leave, the young couple confronted the old folks, "Why do you not at least dispose of 'The Old One.' She is no longer of use to you. It's been years since you've had foals from her. You should cut corners and save so you can have more for yourselves. How can this old worn out horse bring you anything but expense and work? Why do you keep her anyway?"
The old man looked down at his worn boots, holes in the toes, scuffed at the barn floor and replied, " Yes, I could use a pair of new boots."
His arm slid defensively about the Old One's neck as he drew her near with gentle caressing he rubbed her softly behind her ears. He replied softly, "We keep her because of love. Nothing else, just love."
Baffled and irritated, the young folks wished the old man and his wife a Merry Christmas and headed back toward the city as darkness stole through the valley.
The old couple shook their heads in sorrow that it had not been a happy visit. A tear fell upon their cheeks. How is it that these young folks do not understand the peace of the love that filled their hearts?
So it was, that because of the unhappy leave-taking, no one noticed the insulation smoldering on the frayed wires in the old barn. None saw the first spark fall. None but the "Old One."
In a matter of minutes, the whole barn was ablaze and the hungry flames were licking at the loft full of hay. With a cry of horror and despair, the old man shouted to his wife to call for help as he raced to the barn to save their beloved horses. But the flames were roaring now, and the blazing heat drove him back. He sank sobbing to the ground, helpless before the fire's fury. His wife back from calling for help cradled him in her arms, clinging to each other, they wept at their loss.
By the time the fire department arrived, only smoking, glowing ruins were left, and the old man and his wife, exhausted from their grief, huddled together before the barn. They were speechless as they rose from the cold snow covered ground. They nodded thanks to the firemen as there was nothing anyone could do now.
The old man turned to his wife, resting her white head upon his shoulders as his shaking old hands clumsily dried her tears with a frayed red bandana. Brokenly he whispered, "We have lost much, but God has spared our home on this eve of Christmas. Let us gather strength and climb the hill to the old pine where we have sought comfort in times of despair. We will look down upon our home and give thanks to God that it has been spared... and pray for our beloved most precious gifts that have been taken from us."
And so, he took her by the hand and slowly helped her up the snowy hill as he brushed aside his own tears with the back of his old and withered hand.
The journey up the hill was hard for their old bodies in the steep snow. As they stepped over the little knoll at the crest of the hill, they paused to rest, looking up to the top of the hill the old couple gasped and fell to their knees in amazement at the incredible beauty before them.

Lessons of Humility...
A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes & went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy's father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor. On seeing him, the dad yelled:
"Why did you take all this time to come? Don't you know that my son's life is in danger? Don't you have any sense of responsibility?"
The doctor smiled & said:
"I am sorry, I wasn't in the hospital & I came as fast as I could after receiving the call...... And now, I wish you'd calm down so that I can do my work"
"Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies now what will you do??" said the father angrily
The doctor smiled again & replied: "I will say what Job said in the Holy Book "From dust we came & to dust we return, blessed be the name of God". Doctors cannot prolong lives. Go & intercede for your son, we will do our best by God's grace"
"Giving advises when we're not concerned is so easy" Murmured the father.
The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy,
"Thank goodness!, your son is saved!" And without waiting for the father's reply he carried on his way running. "If you have any question, ask the nurse!!"
"Why is he so arrogant? He couldn't wait some minutes so that I ask about my son's state" Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left.
The nurse answered, tears coming down her face: "His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was in the burial when we called him for your son's surgery. And now that he saved your son's life, he left running to finish his son's burial."
Moral - Never judge anyone..... because you never know how their life is and what they're going through"

Trick-or-treating is a Halloween custom for children in many countries. Children in costumes travel from house-to-house, asking for treats with the phrase "Trick or treat".
🍭🍭🍭🎃🎃🎃🍭🍭🍭🍭
The "treat" is usually some form of candy, although, in some cultures, money is used instead. The "trick" is a usually idle threat to perform mischief on the homeowners or their property if no treat is given.
🍭🍭🍭🎃🎃🎃🍭🍭🍭
Trick-or-treating usually occurs on the evening of October 31. Some homeowners signal that they are willing to hand out treats by putting up Halloween decorations outside their doors; others simply leave treats available on their porches for the children to take freely.
🍭🍭🍭🎃🎃🎃🍭🍭🍭
In North America, trick-or-treating has been a Halloween tradition since the late 1920s. In Britain and Ireland the tradition of going house-to-house collecting food at Halloween goes back at least as far as the 16th century, as had the tradition of people wearing costumes at Halloween. In 19th century Britain and Ireland, there are many accounts of people going house-to-house in costume at Halloween, reciting verses in exchange for food, and sometimes warning of misfortune if they were not welcomed.
🍭🍭🍭🎃🎃🎃🍭🍭🍭
The Scottish Halloween custom of "guising" – children disguised in costume going from house to house for food or money – is first recorded in North America in 1911 in Ontario, Canada.
🍭🍭🍭🎃🎃🎃🍭🍭🍭
While going house-to-house in costume has remained popular among Scots and Irish, the custom of saying "trick or treat" has only recently become common. The activity is prevalent in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Puerto Rico, and northwestern and central Mexico. In the latter, this practice is called calaverita (Spanish for "sugar skull"), and instead of "trick or treat", the children ask ¿me da mi calaverita? ("can you give me my sugar skull?") where a calaverita is a small skull made of sugar or chocolate.

What is Sam Hain?
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Samhain (pronounced /ˈsɑːwɪn/ SAH-win or /ˈsaʊ.ɪn/ SOW-in, Irish pronunciation: [sˠəuɪnʲ]) is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year.
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
What is the purpose of Halloween?
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Halloween is the evening before the Christian holy days of All Hallows' Day (also known as All Saints' or Hallowmas) on 1 November and All Souls' Day on 2 November, thus giving the holiday on 31 October the full name of All Hallows' Eve (meaning the evening before All Hallows' Day)
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
How was Halloween created?
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
The history of Halloween - how it all started. Halloween began as the festival of Samhain. It was part of the ancient Celtic religion in Britain and other parts of Europe. At the end of summer, the Celts thought the barrier between our world and the world of ghosts and spirits got really thin.
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Seemingly, every glorious, brilliant star in the heavens was caught up in the glittering, snow-frosted branches of their beloved pine, and it was aglow with heavenly candles. And poised on its top most bough, a crystal crescent moon glistened like spun glass. Never had a mere mortal created a Christmas tree such as this. They were breathless as the old man held his wife tighter in his arms.
Suddenly, the old man gave a cry of wonder and incredible joy. Amazed and mystified, he took his wife by the hand and pulled her forward. There, beneath the tree, in resplendent glory, a mist hovering over and glowing in the darkness was their Christmas gift. Shadows glistening in the night light.
Bedded down about the "Old One" close to the trunk of the tree, was the entire herd... safe.
At the first hint of smoke, she had pushed the door ajar with her muzzle and had led the horses through it. Slowly and with great dignity, never looking back, she had led them up the hill, stepping cautiously through the snow. The foals were frightened and dashed about. The skittish yearlings looked back at the crackling, hungry flames, and tucked their tails under them as they licked their lips and hopped like rabbits. The mares that were in foal with a new years crop of babies, pressed uneasily against the "Old One" as she moved calmly up the hill and to safety beneath the pine. And now she lay among them and gazed at the faces of the old man and his wife.
Those she loved she had not disappointed. Her body was brittle with years, tired from the climb, but the golden eyes were filled with devotion as she offered her gift.
Because of love. Only Because of love.
Tears flowed as the old couple shouted their praise and joy... and again the peace of love filled their hearts.

DON'T BE A VICTIM
1. If walking by yourself, get off your cell phone. A lot of people think that being on the phone is safe because the person on the other line can call 911, but that rarely works out. Chatting can distract you; it's better to be aware of your surroundings. That said…
2. If walking by yourself, hold your cell phone and be ready to make an emergency call. Many phones now have a button on the screen to dial 911 immediately. Go one step further and preset one of the buttons on your phone to call the emergency number.
3. Look underneath your car before approaching it in a parking garage or lot at night.
4. If you return to your car and see that a van is parked right next to the driver's side, enter through the passenger side. Predators often use vans and will disguise it as a family car, even using "Baby on Board" decals.
5. You return to your car and it has a flat tire. Back away. Return to wherever you came from (restaurant, store, etc) and call for help. Once assistance arrives, approach your car. If someone comes up to you (even if they are a woman) and wants to offer help, politely say, "No thank you." If a man, he could be a predator. If a woman, she could be the lurer.
6. When leaving the mall late at night, ask a security guard to walk you to your car. Do not go up to just any security guard. Go directly to the kiosk and ask for them to assign an officer to escort you. Predators sometimes dress up like men of the law.
7. When the pharmacist asks you to confirm your home address, whisper it to them. Broadcasting your home address among strangers on the line could compromise your safety.
8. Ditto if you're checking in to a hotel room. If the person at the front desk says your room number out loud, ask them to give you a new room and write the number on a piece of paper. Or when you check-in, ask upfront that they not say your room number out loud. Your room number should be your business only.
9. Before entering your hotel room, make sure no one is lingering in the hallway.
10. Always immediately lock your hotel room door after you enter.
11. When traveling, do not walk with your map in your hand. It is a dead giveaway that you are a tourist. Therefore, you are an easy target.
12. If you call for room service, and you get a knock on your door, do not immediately open. Ask: "Who is it?" Make the person on the other side of the door tell you who they are before you open it.
13. When asking for directions and someone offers to show you the way by having you follow them, do not go. Just ask for them to point you in the right direction. Often, predators just want to get you to a place less crowded where your screams can't be heard.
14. If someone tries to grab you, twist your arm up and down and yell, "Stop!" Do anything you can to draw attention to yourself.
15. Always pour your own drink at a party and bring it with you everywhere...even to the bathroom. This will make it a lot harder for someone to drug you via you drink.
16. Don't put your name on your apartment buzzer. If you're expecting guests, just let them know which number to push. This way, only people who know you know exactly where you live.
17. If someone is chasing after you, run away in a zig zag pattern. This will exhaust your attacker.
18. Don't check-in on Foursquare or Facebook when you arrive somewhere. Instead, check in as you leave. This way no one will be able to digitally stalk you and know your every move or when you're not home. Along the same lines, avoid tweeting or Facebooking from vacation, especially if your account is public, as it's a way of letting the world know that your home is unoccupied.
18. When you move into a new place, check your smoke detector for a hidden camera. Your landlord could be spying on you.
