A journey to get RealTek WLAN working on Hackintosh!
My friend wrote an interesting blog describing his journey to get a RealTek WLAN card to communicate with macOS through Hackintoshing.
It is not an AI-generated crap article, but something written entirely by a human that is also enjoyable to read & easier to understand what porting a driver to macOS on unsupported hardware looks & feels like!
Please, do give it a read!

Microsoft brings Linux commands to Windows
Microsoft has released Coreutils, a project that brings Linux-like command-line utilities that run natively on Windows. This is based on uutils, a cross-platform reimplementation of GNU Coreutils in Rust.
Instead of creating separate executables for each program, a single coreutils.exe binary contains all the functions, and the executables are all hardlinks to coreutils.exe.
Some commands like dir, kill, etc. aren't included because they conflict with CMD and/or Powershell.
Install Coreutils:
winget install Microsoft.Coreutils
Motorola's "Smart Feed" has started hijacking the Amazon app to insert affiliate codes
After an app update to Smart Feed (v2.03.0070), opening Amazon opens the user’s browser and immediately redirects to the Amazon app. This only happens if the app is opened from the app drawer and not the homescreen.
The device contacts "devicenative.com", a service that places ads on phones. The URL opened in the browser is "kira-abboud.com", a website that references @kirasfashionfinds. The affiliate code being used to open Amazon is "sramz-kff-008-20", which is completely different from the affiliate codes used by @kirasfashionfinds.
To disable this behaviour, disable the "Smart Feed" app from Settings.

The spyware is only in version 12.6.5 uploaded on APKPure
When I downloaded the APK in the morning, the version it showed me by default was 12.6.5 (the one with the DataCollector class) even though 12.7.3 was available.
All the other versions available versions have the same signature as the official .apk file, and version 12.6.5 has a different certificate. Funny enough, APKPure's "Security Check" says there's "No Virus" and "No Malware".
The latest version which is safe i.e. 12.7.3 is uploaded by "Yeasmean Khan" whereas version 12.6.5 was uploaded by "Telegram FZ-LLC".
And yes, the 12.6.5 is still available on APKPure, with the spyware.
Idk what to say, just make sure you scan every file you get from some third party app store and make sure it matches the signature of the app downloaded from the official website.
We'll let you know if something interesting is found out in 12.6.5.

Part 2:
The method collectSimInfo() collects SIM Card Information, if you provide READ_PHONE_STATE perm.
The method sendLocation() and initLocationTracking() uploads' your GPS coordinates with a 12 hour cooldown.
Methods sendProfile() and sendFullProfile uploads details like your user id, name, phone number, etc. sendAvatar() uploads your profile pictures. Methods sendDialogInfo() and sendMessage() pull metadata of the chats and all the text content of messages, and sendChatInfo() and sendGroupSpeaker() uploads group and members metadata.
There are two threads that handle this: UPLOAD_POOL (6 threads) for uploading files, and META_POOL (4 threads) for JSON data. The data extracted using the methods above is stored in an SQLite database tgc_upload_queue.db which has three tables json_queue, gallery_queue, and file_queue. The database is encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
There's also a function fetchClientConfig() that contacts /api/config. Does it configure something remotely? idk. All requests are HMAC-signed using a native .so file.
The methods postJson(), uploadMultipartAsync(), uploadMultipartDirect(), and uploadDocDirect() upload all the files and JSON data to the server with IP Address 38.190.225.166

Firefox is getting the biggest redesign in years
Mozilla's "Project Nova" will bring better performance, a new cleaner UI, tab groups, split view, vertical tabs, redesigned settings, easier privacy controls, new themes, wallpapers, better dark mode, and more. Along with this, compact mode is returning to Firefox.
Tabs now have a softer shape with a subtle gradient, components are rounded and consistent, icons are clear and more balanced, spacing is rebalanced, and the refreshed color palette is inspired by the feeling of fire.
"Project Nova" is a renewal, not a replacement. It will roll out later this year.
To enable Project Nova right now, install Firefox Nightly, and:
browser.nova.enabled = true
XenithOS' proprietary protection system is linked to the serial ID of the device to prevent unauthorized distribution. All this for a HyperOS port, lmfao.
I thank the gods at XenithOS who allow me to at least flash another ROM and not completely lock me out of my device 🙏🙏
Also, server costs for a HyperOS port?

Microsoft is replacing Taskbar Search with Copilot
Taskbar search is now being replaced by "Ask Copilot" which opens a floating popup that you can use to interact with Copilot, search for files, open apps, etc. It targets enterprise customers who use the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
In tests, "Ask Copilot" is more accurate at finding local files and apps compared to the current Windows Search. However, Microsoft is working on improving the normal Search as well.
Ask Copilot is entirely optional, and won't be enabled by default. It is expected to release mid-2026, but it might change.

Microsoft is phasing out SMS codes for signing into personal Microsoft/Xbox accounts
Since SMS-based authentication is a leading source of fraud, Microsoft believes that passwordless accounts (Microsoft Authenticator), passkeys and verified email are more secure.
All personal account holders will now be prompted with "Sign in faster with your face, fingerprint, or PIN."

On analyzing the APK with jadx, it contains a class DataCollector, which does not exist in the .apk file downloaded from the official Telegram website.

- Your GPS Coordinates
- Your SIM card information
- Your Telegram profile
This data is monitored and uploaded continuously. All the data is uploaded to a server with IP Address 38.190.225.166

APK Analysis: Telegram APK from APKPure is a spyware
On analyzing the Telegram APK I downloaded from APKPure, there's a class called "DataCollector", which does not exist in the Telegram APK downloaded from the official website, telegram.org.
I'm not a big cybersecurity nerd, but as far as I can understand, this DataCollector class is sending a lot of information to an IP address - 38.190.225.166
The class has a Listener that uses MediaStore and runs the methods collectGalleryImages() which resizes images > 150kb, limits resolution to 1920px and compresses the images to a 75% quality JPEG, collectGalleryVideos() for videos, and collectDeviceDocs() for other document files.
The method collectPhoneContacts() uses ContactsContract to access all your contacts and uploads it in JSON format. There's also a separate sendContact() method that uploads individual contacts and sendPhone() that uploads phone numbers.

Apple is working on a new "Gen AI" website
Apple has created a new subdomain genai.apple.com, but there's nothing live on the page for now. This could probably be related to Apple's upcoming Generative AI announcements in WWDC

This itself is interesting cuz we know what happened to the automobile industry after BYD entered the game. Hoping to see something similar here.

iPhone 20 is getting a Curved Display and under-display Face ID
Apple will be launching the iPhone 20 to celebrate the iPhone's 20th anniversary in 2027. The OLED display will be manufactured by Samsung, using Color Filter on Encapsulation technology for a thinner, brighter screen. A brand-new anti-reflective coating will be used.
The iPhone 20 will feature under-display Face ID. It might also introduce a custom HDR image sensor for superior dynamic range.
A brand-new A21 chip will be used, alongside a new silicon anode battery. Apple is also testing mobile high-bandwidth memory and might be moving to capacitive buttons with haptic feedback.

damn bro, how will the poco f5 pro users survive without your Evolution X builds 😭🙏
Also, please create a poll. I genuinely want to see how many people want your builds.
I'm not even gonna talk about the racism. But why are you deleting messages if you think you're doing something great?
P.S. I apologize for calling XenithOS a port, since it's your custom ROM based on HyperOS, which doesn't need a server to build. Why are XenithOS users required to pay for the server?

there's so much going on right now but I'm busy playing Forza Horizon 6 so here's a summary of what happened:
- Plex Pass Lifetime subscription's price is now being increased to $750 USD
- Elon Musk lost his lawsuit against Sam Altman
- A person lost his three-year SaaS due to "Sign in with Google" because his account got terminated
- Google's gradient Workspace app icons are now rolling out
- Sony Playstation accounts are getting hacked easily, bypassing 2FA as well
- Disney has been sued over facial recognition at Disneyland Gates
- Discord's Voice and Video calls will now be End-to-End encrypted by default
- Microsoft will let users remap Copilot key to Right Ctrl or Context Menu in Settings
- More vulnerabilities and malware stuff, I'm tired
Also some people were wondering if the Xiaomi ad in Forza was real, so I'll clarify that it was edited by me.
Thanking You.
