EUR/USD had a mixed reaction to the higher NFP. This was a hard figure to decipher even as the Fed mentioned nearing the end of its monetary cycle. The question is most confusing if we focus on this one number. Another factor to consider is that wage growth did not move. Wages usually track inflation as well as CPI, PPI, consumer spending, etc. If inflation is not getting out of control, then maybe better labor market numbers is a good sign for risk-on assets such as EU. The pair also bounced from a significant support level on the 1D timeframe. If price can hold above this level, it may be a sign that the pair is setting up for a move higher. -Frank

Stocks continue to fall on the day after unemployment and ADP news today. So far this year, markets have been dropping from the March 2022 highs after reaching them in late December. Recent doubts on the Fed’s potential rate cut in March seem to be taking a toll as well. Support lies around $16,169. -Frank

Gold dips after ADP NFP numbers this morning that came in higher than expected. Although more jobs can be good for the economy, it is usually a bearish sign for the metal which tends to struggle with growth in the US. ADP news is not very accurate, however. When real NFP comes out tomorrow, it could be a completely different number. Gold may come down further to test support on a rising trend line on the 1D timeframe. -Frank

Retail sentiment is largely short indices. Meanwhile, the crowd is also mixed for the USD pairs and gold. Oil is now one of the most longed pairs which could indicate further weakness in the commodity.

NAS100 is one of the strongest bullish readings on the EdgeFinder despite today's 1% dip. The index beats the dollar in almost every category except inflation and retail sentiment. This tech index has been bullish for the past month without ever flipping score indicating a strong bias for the stock market.

US is reporting CPI and Core CPI, followed by PPI on Friday. Risk-on investors would like to see a lower CPI and PPI overall. Core can’t come in higher especially as it serves as the Fed’s main gauge of inflation.

November's NFP came out to 199,000 jobs, compared to October's 150,000 jobs. Overall, the jobs data could suggest a stronger dollar compared to the Euro. Tomorrow's NFP will reveal December's jobs numbers, will the dollar get stronger?

Gold is coming down to a level that could be worth considering for the bulls. A rising trend line on the 1D tiemframe has formed and could be the support needed to reignite the uptrend. Gold saw a net 0 increase/decrease in interest from smart money from last week's COT report.

What bullish gold investors need to see this week are now a combination of higher economic figures and dovish talks. This higher PMI could be a good sign if inflation continues to fall lower; this means that wage growth needs to stay low while NFP comes in higher. -Frank
