🟢🇵🇭: A speeding passenger bus slammed into a row of vehicles lined up at a highway toll booth in the north of the Philippines, killing at least 12 people, including children, local police say.

More than two dozen others were injured in the multiple-vehicle collision in Tarlac city, north of Manila, at a heavy travel time on May Day holiday. It is said that the after being questioned by police, the bus driver had admitted to having fallen asleep shortly before the crash. He was subsequently arrested for reckless driving.

Cosmos 482 was destined to land on Venus after being launched from the USSR's spaceport in 1972. Instead, the upper stage of the rocket, which was responsible for powering it out of orbit, failed. This left the probe simply orbiting Earth.

Scientists predict that the debris - which is three metres wide and weighs half a tonne - will hit the Earth around 10th May at a few hundred miles per hour. They do not believe it would be a risk to the planet.
